Today was wick changing day, so I threaded a new cotton wick in my coil, reassembled the KFL and removed the filler screw. As I was putting juice in the fill hole, I noticed that there was some juice running down my hand. At first I thought that maybe I was pushing the bulb on the dropper too hard and filling so fast that it was leaking from around the fill hole. Then I noticed that there was a puddle of juice on the table, and it was coming out of the end of the drip tip. I plugged the tip with my finger and finished filling the tank and put the fill hole screw back in. The leaking stopped, but if I removed the fill hole screw, it started leaking again. So, I drained the tank, removed the plastic center tube and replaced it with the stainless steel one and I think that fixed the leaking problem. The only thing now is that I can't see what my juice level is.

Thinking back, now I remember that right before I started working on my KFL, I had dropped it off of my desk. That may have damaged the plastic tube. I could feel the edge of the tube after the fall, and before it was a smooth fit. Those plastic tubes must be really fragile.

That actually sounds like there was an issue when you screwed the top cap. There's a little o-ring there that sometimes gets wonky when you screw the cap. If by any chance when screwing it the chimney moved/was forced by pressure into it, a tiny gap is all that is needed for juice to leak from the drip tip. Easiest way to verify it is to fill the Kayfun while covering the drip tip, once you are done flip the Kayfun and watch if it leaks from the airhole. If it doesn't, the issue is most likely on the top cap o-ring.

Might have split it along the thread edge, but I doubt it.

Air can still travel in through the drip tip and channel openings when turned upside down.
Normally this type of leakage is:
1)Flooding from to large a fill needle - cap is only lane of pressure release.
2)Improper seal of the chimney top o-ring - missing or pinching causing a gap.

When you say top cap, do you mean the cone shaped part?
