If you're leaking juice out, it means you're leaking air into the tank.
It needs to be sealed airtight except for the opening to the chimney and driptip.

THIS!

I'll repeat for dramatic effect: If you're leaking juice out, it means you're leaking air into the tank.

A failure to seal the tank from outside air due to a damaged or missing O-ring results in liquid forcing its way into your chimney.

I'll throw this out there just in case... I built all four of my V4's with piece-parts ordered separately from FastTech because I wanted m-tanks and top fill caps for all of them. All the decks came with fill screws pre-installed, but I didn't realize that none the bottom fill screws came with O-rings! Wasn't a big deal since I had a bunch of spares, but on that first build it did leave me scratching my head for a minute, staring at a pool of juice on my dining table. I imagine complete kits (like those from Tobeco) would come complete though. Anyway the point is, even though the bottom fill screw is where I was missing the O-ring, the liquid poured out of the air holes, not the fill screw... so maybe identifying root cause is not as obvious it would seem.

My v3 will leak a little if I force the juice when I bottom fill. It will run down my juice channels and flood the chimney a little. I use max vg so filling is tedious. I'll hold it upside down after filling and blow through the drip tip to clear the air holes. After I clear it there are no leaks. Mine laid on it's side for an hour while I was in a meeting and not a drop leaked out.

I picked up an Orchid V4 and first time filling it, it had some leakage but not much. Second time it leaked half the tank. Third time, all of the tank dumped out of it. I tried everything, rewicked, watched tons of vids on it, no go. Then read here about the leak and got to looking. The O-ring where the chimney goes thru the top cap was out of the caps groove and on the chimney. Also it was missing a chunk from it. That O-ring is a pathetic fit, at least on mine it is. I had to use a lighted magnifying glass and work the oring in with the tube barely in the bore to get it to go on right. Anytime I will have to re-wick I will have to watch for this but right now, I filled the tank full, held the air hole while turning it up right and did not lose one single drop of liquid.

This Orchid has a great hit, and great flavor. Just poor quality O-rings in it. If you have one leaking, look at the top cap O-ring inside the hole where the chimney pipe from the coils go thru. More than likely its damaged.

I'll have to take a look at mine. Aside from the leaking I love my Orchid.

Sadly I never use it due to the leaking

It worked perfect all day and then decided to dump all the juice so I am done with it for now. Already chunked it into the parts box i have.

Easy way to test your O-rings....clean out your Orchid, fill it with water, seal the air holes with your fingers and suck on the drip tip hard, no air of water should come out at all. When I bottom fill mine, I keep it upsidedown, cover the air holes an suck, if no air...it's good to go.

I have 4 Orchids and they don't ever leak, regardless of how good or bad my build or wick job is, so long as the O-rings are sealing properly.

Ok, got it out, messed around with it and couldnt see anything wrong with it, filled it up and instant leaking. Hmmmm. drained it, looked it over again without taking it apart with a magnifying glass and a light. The pipe tupe in the center where it goes thru he top cap was pushing the O ring out. So that the problem.... replaced the O ring and made sure it went together right. Re-wicked it and filled it up.... my god it delivers the flavor. So far no leaks. But with this I can no longer be part of the tootle puffer crowd. It is happiest at 30W with the dual .7 ohm build.

I have the V2 and V4. No leaks here. Def. a tricky RTA for new users. The Orchid is all I ever use nowadays. If you guys don't want them send them over this way. ;)

I was so impressed with the way the Orchid vapes that I ordered the V7 and another Tesla Invader II for it. The V4 worked perfectly for 3 days and then yesterday while I was in the car it decided to start leaking. Got juice everywhere. Cleaned it up and today it did it again. The V7 you can tell they addressed the main problem by the way the top pipe has been redesigned. I am going to try to find a larger O-ring seal for the top pipe but the V4 will always be considered a leaker and never be my go to now. Depending on how the V7 performs, I might get another one of them and send the V4 back to the parts bin.

Heat can play a part in a tank system leaking...

All I have is Orchids. And I am dedicated to tootle-puffing on them with single coils. Minimal leaking, with the way I set them up.

Might have to purchase a V7 just to add to the collection of Orchids:lol:. It might be my luck but I haven't replaced the O-Rings on my V2 or V4.. Had both for close to a year already? I use to be into cloud chasing using RDAs but now I just use my Orchids around .40 ohms to .55ohm. Still got my good ol' Tobh that I modified for those cloud chasing needs. Def. post pics of the V7 once you receive it!
