Blue is in! :

  • Bottom tube to case is nearly perfectly flush (tube mabe .5 mm longer) Stands perfectly
  • Edges and corners slightly "sharper" than I expected
  • Fire button rattle (expected)
  • Tugboat rda will not sit flush if you have the 510 adapter threaded all the way in
  • Finish = 9/10
  • Threading = 8/10
  • Quality = 8/10
  • Awesomeness = 9.8/10 (not disapointed ! )

I will submit more detail pictures later, enjoy !

Beano52, you inspired me, so decided to play around with different combinations of RBAs/RDAs.

Actually, I'm going to run my current build through tomorrow, just to see if I get the issue again. I'll report back tomorrow evening.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk

I've had the issue a couple of times today, although, interestingly, not first thing in the morning after my device had been asleep all night. It only happened a couple of times in the morning, then no issues the rest of the day.

And just ran into another issue. I was vaping an Aerotank Mega when, all of a sudden, started getting the "Check Atomizer" error msg. I took off the tank and adjusted the contact pin on the device to make sure I was making contact - no joy. Tried 3 other tanks that are working fine on other mods, but still got the same error msg. Removing/reinserting the battery did not help, so I took the battery tube off, just to see what was there. Also twisted the top 510 cap on the device just a bit, as I wasn't sure if it was supposed to come off or not (probably not). There was a bit of give, but didn't want to push it, so put it all back together again - and it's working again! Not sure what the deal was with that, but I'm starting to get a little leery of this thing. I'm going to check if there's a warranty with this thing, just in case.

Just a Heads Up.

I thought I read on the VT T's and C's that you had to Contact them within 5 Days if you Want your Money Back.

I would Contact them ASAP and at Least Go On Record that you have Experienced some Issues. That way they Can't say on Day 6 if your Board goes Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs.

Hope it was just a One Time Thing. Because it sure is a Nice Looking Mod.

Per their terms, you have to report DOA or damages withing 48 hours of receipt, determined by the tracking info. I'll run it tomorrow and decide, but I just might keep it even if it goes [edit: breasts:ohmy:] up on me. Maybe I can get the chip replaced; I really like the form factor on this, much better than my Hana clone.

I Wouldn't consider your Mod to be DOA. Because it is Working Most of the Time.

But I Would contact VT just to go on recorded even if you are thinking you are Not Going to Return it.

@monkey39: The top cap is actually a 510 adapter, and you can remove it without worry. In fact, I find it's easier to adjust the center pin from the bottom with the atomizer already attached to ensure a solid connection. On the original ZNA, the threading that the top cap screws into is the Z2 threading, which will allow you to use Z2 threaded atomizers in a sort of hybrid configuration.

Very cool, thanks! Maybe that's what was happening - the top cap was just a bit loose when I first had the issue, maybe it was losing contact with the body.

Think I figured out what was going on with the "Check Atomizer" issue I've been seeing intermittently. Took of the top cap today to take a closer look and it appears that one side of the copper base that contacts with the top cap center pin is slight depressed. I'm thinking that my top cap is losing contact with the base intermittently because of it.

Anyway, I've sent an email to VaporTekUSA, we'll see if they do anything about. If that doesn't pan out, I'm thinking about buying some copper foil and putting a small piece under the top cap to see if that helps. Going to try with aluminum foil in a bit first, just to see if that works - it should be conductive.

That copper plate is spring-loaded. You can just poke it with your fingertip until it straightens out.

Thanks! My device started working again a couple of hours after my last post yesterday, maybe I accidentally poked it into place when I was checking it out last night? Didn't notice it was spring-loaded until I saw your post - just poked it a bit again, hopefully that was all it was. I really like this thing from an aesthetic point of view and want to keep in my collection if possible.

I did receive a reply from VaporTekUSA today. Sent them an email late last night and received a reply by 9:18am CST, so not bad. They offered to replace it if they had some in stock, if not then issue me store credit. Would have liked the option for a full refund, in case I wanted to put it towards one of the ZNA 50 watt devices out there, and I'm assuming I would have to ship it back at my own cost. But a better response than I had feared; thought they might have tried to weasel out of it somehow.;)

Okay, it's official: I love this thing. This has been my go-to mod for a week now. Not sure what was going on with the chip at the outset, but after a week long burn-in, the circuitry is performing fantastically. I have decided against using HoH's clone service and I'm instead putting that money back for an authentic ZNA as soon as Zen releases a model with a native 18650 form factor (and hopefully a DNA 40). It's bound to be in the works.

In the meantime, my quest to discover whether or not this device is actually Z2 threaded continues. Wouldn't mind picking up an obsidian tube for it to complete the look!

It wasn't so long ago that Tobeco was the company to avoid in favor of EHPro, HCigar, Infinite, and the like. This is the third Tobeco device I've acquired over the past few months, and all have been of outstanding quality (the black KFL+ above is also Tobeco, and it's the only KFL clone I own out of 4 that performs exactly as well as both of my SvoeMesto authentics).

I'm gonna go ahead and call this device a winner!
