If it is a hybrid there is a problem. I did not think I had to spell out every pitfall of what is safe to use and not.

Its the coils that make difference? I never knew that I better read some more

True Hybrid:
Matched tank and Tube - Specifically designed to work together.

Quasi-Hybrid - Dependent on User to properly match Topper and Battery.

Thank you, I have 2 Quasi-Hybrid 4Nine Mods. Not hard to do it right if one has a clue.

I've had more trouble out of a Gifted Stingray than I have with any of my other Mechs.

* Most Mods are not poorly built or Faulty in Design. It is the Lack of knowledge, understanding and attention that causes problems, not the devices.

Would I ever hand my wife or youngest Daughter a Mech.........Nope. They are both disinterested common place Vapers. No clue and no desire to learn. Maybe shop owners should have better selling standards.

Ok. Ok. Ok. The problem with this 'story' is not the mod, battery, or tank! It's the lack of damage to the mod or tank that's the problem. If his battery exploded as he is claiming then where's the damage? You'd at least see bulges, dents, burns, or something showing explosive heat. There's nothing! Only a broken tank. This leads me to believe something else happened and he's trying to milk the cow for what it's worth.

The mod is a hybrid. If someone doesn't know the safety behind that then yes there could be serious issues. But in this incident it looks more like bull hockey!

Local witnesses said they what sounded like a gunshot or small explosion.

Seems the Switch(bottom switch mod) may have been ejected by gas expansion. Instant mini missile.
Impact with the Face/Teeth could be the reason for Missing(Shattered) Tank.

Questions Remain:
Resistance of Coil?
type/condition of Battery?

Though this Steam Punk does Not look like a (Quasi-Hybrid) even if in fact it is, the guy has been using it. Not likely the Mod suddenly changed.
Faulty/wrong coil overloading Battery.
Battery damage - wrapping or drop damage to Positive side
Wrong battery type - Lithium/low amperage
Battery installed improperly and damaged causing a short(flipped)

The most likely reason for Failure was lack of Owner awareness.

There is quite clearly NOT a lack of damage.
The glass of the kanger subtank nano is gone, and there is no button on that tesla steampunk mech.
There's even a photo of the damaged mech on the floor surrounded by quite obvious carnage.
Most of you people belong on conspiracy forums, I wouldn't be surprised if you all were wearing tin foil hats right now.
It happened. it was more than likely his own stupid fault by misusing the battery, but it quite clearly happened.
