wow, so much info out there that Im thouroughly bogged down with it all lol. I sadly didnt stumble upon this forum until AFTER I made my decision and ordered and recieved my SmokeTip e-cig kit. Now, this thread has me curious...what exactly is a 510, and how do you know what model each manufacturer is selling under their own name? Is the smoketip a 510?

I ultimately went with this brand because of the lifetime warranty on batteries, since it seemed all major brands online had some issues with possible battery failure. I liked how V2 offered manual switches and different colors on its starter kits, but I couldnt get myself to overlook the tons of bad reviews of their CS and shipping. Right now, I jut got my smoketip kit in the mail about an hour ago and am learning how to best draw on it to satisfy my nicotine craving an get a feel of actual "smoke" lol. (Im starting to wonder if the 16mg was too light for me to start on). Its either that, or Im just a F.N.G. and havent perfected my draw technique yet haha. At first I was still graving for a real cig, but as I type this...Im feeling a little better about how this thing may satisfy my cravings. (I was a pack and a half a day of marboro Special Blend Blacks).

I'm sitting here reading all about the e-cigs and am getting very, very confused. Obviously, I'm a newbie! I've been smoking for about 40 years and would like to quit with as little pain as possible. I was smoking 2ppd and am now down to 1 ppd which took me about 5 months. Vaping sounds like a good solution.

I would like something that is pretty much no hassle. I've been looking at the Joye-go, but I get confused on cartridges, cartos, atomizers, etc. Help!

I am pretty much in the same position as furkids. I've been smoking for 15 years and am looking for an alternative to regular cigs. I am getting tired of the smokers cough every morning plus the whole anti-social stigmatism around smoking these days. My biggest problem is I live in Canada and everywhere I look I can only find nicotine free e-cigs. I am hoping this forum may have some alternate sources.

furkids step away from the computer/monitor breath, relax, breath. I was lucky I had a friend to introduce and get me set up with this stuff, but I admit it is allot to take in. Keep it simple to start with get something like a 510 manual or an ego, some carts(I recommend cartridges eventually) and some juice. Start playing with flavors and figure what you like. It sounds weird initially to vape grape, or waffle or any of the crazy flavors out there, but they are actually really good. From there, while you have start you can start to figure out what is working and not working for you and decide what you need to get next. Initially it can be expensive as you figure this out, but once you hit that sweet spot, then its just fun!

Since the beginning of last month I went from an ego with carts for a few days to cartomizers to dripping on ego T batteries for a few weeks to a Silver Bullet. In a month and a half, I do not want to figure what I have spent on all this(initial kit given by a friend), but now I have hit that sweet spot, I know I like Iken lr atomizers, I love the consistency of the Silver Bullet and when I decide to use cartomizers, I know what brand of those I like to use. My budget is now free to play with juice and occasionally resupply my atomizers. It is allot of fun to try allot of these different juice manufacturers. I usually vape vaperite's tobaccos as they have a very realistic tobacco taste(not cigarette taste, but tobacco) and numerous other vendors sweets and other things, like Snickerdoodle and pumpkin pie (two of my current faves).

So take it slow, get something to start with and then start to modify and extend based on what works and what does not.

Dont stress out too much, there will probably be some frustrating days and some great days, just keep at it. I quit after three days as I found the flavor of the analog was gross when mixed with vaping. I do occasionally get the urge to get up and go outside, but not an urge to smoke, just part of a habit. When this gets pretty strong, I go outside and vape. It works for me. Good luck.

I'm breathing Chatter, just confused on a few things. An atomizer is just a heater element that heats the e-juice? A cartomizer or carto is a hearter coil and liquid holder all in one? A cartridge is just the end piece that is either pre-filled or you can fill it yourself with e-juice?

I guess next is what to get (of course). I see the Joye-go mentioned a lot, so figure I'll start with that. Looking on the Liberty site, it shows a starter kit for $49.95. That includes
•2 x manual eGo 650mAh batteries
•2 x Joye 510 atomizer
•2 x Atomizer Cone
•5 x tobacco cartridges
•1 x high speed USB charger
•1 x usb mains charger
•1 x user manual
•1 x presentation box
What is an atomizer cone? Do I need to order blank cartridges and some e-juice samples or prefilled cartridges so I can try different flavors? Remember, I need something no muss, no fuss to start off with until I get the hang of this. Right now, hand holding would be appreciated.

yes. the cartridge is used with an atomizer.

Great kit. I have the same one.

What is an atomizer cone?

The cone conserves some of the heat from the atty and preheats the air very slightly when you draw one puff after the other. It changes the draw a little and catches any leaks from the atty. Mostly, it just makes the unit look better lol.

You do need some juice, I recommend small bottles until you fine what you like. I also recommend some cartos so that you can see if you like them. Filling the carts and cartos is easy so prefilled shouldn't be necessary imo. I also recommend a drip tip because it makes a good mouth piece for the cartos as well as allowing you to try direct dripping in the attys.
You'll probably end up using 2 to 4 ml of juice per day, so figure accordingly.

The cone is just a decorative piece that covers the atomizer and makes the ego look nice. I stopped using mine after I stopped using carts.

Here is a pict of the tube. It attaches to the battery overtop of the atomizer and the cart to give it a nice finished look.

Most people do not like the taste of the flavors preloaded into carts, its easier and cheaper to just buy some juice and some additional carts and fill them yourself. With the carts all you cave to do is put a few drops in, let it sink, repeat till it looks slushy on top. Then put a few drops along the side of the atomizer. Vape till it changes flavor. Add more drops into the batting till it looks slushy and you are set to go. Pretty easy, helps having a bent paperclip to help pull the batting off the sides a little.

You should next start looking at cartomizers, most people leave carts pretty quickly as they have a tendency to leak and can be messy. Good place to start though.

So get some blank carts and get some extra juice, most places have 3ml sample size packs. The place I frequently buy from has very good tobacco flavors and pretty good prices for organics and has a tobacco sample pack of 3ml samples for 7 bucks. So if you look around, you can find sample packs on most sites. Unfortunately, you will probably find some duds, but there will be some winners in there as well. Also, dont be afraid to try something unconventional or non-tobacco.

Hopes this helps

Great advice in this thread! Furkids, I have a whole 8 days under my belt and agree with everything JD1 and Chatter told you. To those who remain overwhelmed, I suggest you buy SOMETHING, practically anything just to experience what vaping is about. From there, you'll have a better idea what you like and what you don't and can make a more informed decision from there. The information will make more sense because you'll have a frame of reference then. Good luck!

I found a brick and mortor vapor store near me. It's called Vaporescence and it's in Fort Worth, TX. They don't have the Joye-cig, but they do have the Ego-T, Ego-XL and the Ego510-T. They're not cheap, but at least I could try before I buy. I'm sure there's a difference between the Joye-go and the others I just listed at the store. Any that I should try out there that would actually compare to the Joye-go? Also, anyone make them in girlie colors instead of black or silver?

Guess my next stop after I get my questions answered here will be to find a good online store with good prices. I think I would also prefer US made juice as opposed to China made.

I bought my first ecig in Oct 11, I had 6 of my Marlboro 100's left in the pack when i bought it, those were the last 6 cigs i smoked, Unfortunately i way overpaid for my unit ( a 6v ) at a kiosk in a mall Though it has more than paid for itself over the last 8 months

Today i purchased a Lavatube variable voltage unit for $140 less than my original and i Love it. It also seems to be better quality . I am so glad i found the ecigs and am no longer a smoker
