Don't be humble @bombastinator. You're spot on right. Most high/salt nic bottles come with a warning... Something like "not for use in subohm devices."

That would be like beer bonging everclear, and wondering why you had alcohol poisoning.

hi! So I’m currently vaping on a smok v8 stick with baby-t8 coils, and I’m wondering if 50 nic will be too much or if it will ruin the coils?
For a new vaper, the typical nicotine recommendations are generally determined by how much you smoked, and are as follows:

1/2 pack per day or less = 6 mg nicotine
1 ppd = 12 mg
1 1/2 ppd = 18 mg
2 ppd = 24 mg

Drop the above suggestions by half if using a sub-ohm juice attachment.

Figure on consuming at least 3 - 5 ml of liquid daily. Bottles are usually 10 or 30 ml volume.

E-liquid generally has concentrated liquid nicotine, propylene glycol (Pg), vegetable glycerin (Vg) and flavoring extracts.
PG and VG are usually used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio is common. Some juice vendors offer a range of different ratios depending upon customer preference.

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin in consistancy.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick in consistancy.

Sweeter (sugary) or darker flavors tend to clog coils and wicks faster. E-liquids heavy with Vg are thicker in viscosity and may not wick as well as thinner e-liquids in some tanks.

Holy crap 50 mg nic in a subohm tank? Come on. I've been seeing this too much lately... We need more education from vendors or something... This disappoints me.
Sorry to the original poster. Not your fault but you need to learn. Yes 50mg nic is too much for that setup. 6 to 3 mg nic is more appropriate. You get a lot of vapor so you'll get plenty of nicotine.

Yeah. I actually had to educate the clerk at one of our local vape shops on recommended nicotine levels with different devices last week. He seriously thought no one should use above 6mg juice -- in a pod system. I'm still not convinced he comprehended what I said, but I had to at least try to keep him from dooming new vapers to going back to cigarettes.

Anyway, 50mg nic salts (I assume salt juice since I've never seen a concentration that high otherwise) are, as others have said, WAY too much for that device. I find them a bit too much in my pod system, and I was a 2+ ppd smoker of strong cigarettes who likes more nicotine than a lot of other people in my juice.

Please don't do that. A more appropriate nic strength for that device would be 3--6 mg/ml not FIFTY. Oh my, I got nic sick sub0hming 12 mg (freebase) nic when I showed up here and I was a 3 ppd smoker.

DO not use that strength and type of nic (well, type would probably be fine, if you kept it to 3 mg/ml). It's slightly more bioavailable than freebase nic, but you can still USE nic salts in sub0hm devices, but the dose has to be reasonable. I mean, though, most sub0hm folks can tolerate regular nic at that strength, because it only gets harsh enough to "need" nicsalts at higher percentages, like the one you have. Nic salts can be used at that strength, in the right device.

Yours is not the right device, and not even remotely CLOSE to it. I use 18 mg/ml in NON sub0hm tanks and I've gotten nic sick before. PLEASE use extreme caution. Change your device OR your liquid, but it's definitely one or the other.

I used to smoke 1 1/2 pack a day. Switched over to low volume 50mg throwaways. It worked to stop. Switched to higher volume 18mg and it worked better. Switched to subohm at 4 mg and it works even better. I can still get buzzed on 4 mg nic if take a few hits off it.

Don't even think about doing 50mg in a subohm device. Asking for problems.
