Hey guys!

Thanks to the advice from the people of this forum I'm the proud owner of two volt x2s. They work so much better than the old cigalike I was using that wasn't helping me quit analogs very much. Anyway, I've been puffing on the x2 with 18mg juice for a little bit and I'm not sure if I'm feeling analog withdrawal or nicotine od? I've used only about 0.2ml in the past 6 hours and I was smoking about a pack a day so I think it would be weird if I was experiencing nicotine OD? I was researching and I found a user posted this in a similar thread...

"Nicotine OD, is not a very pleasant feeling, headache, nausea, even some confusion can be felt. at that point.. time to stop for a bit.. recover.. go with lower nic levels or regulate your vaping."

I don't have nausea, my head doesn't ache but it feels fuzzy and I'm definitely experiencing a confusion. From experience, I was hoping somebody could share their experience switching right to vaping and what it felt like the first couple days.

When I first quit smoking I used the patch (first step) and vaped 18mg juice heavily, I didn't feel anything different, but my blood pressure went up noticeably so after 7 days I dropped the patch and BP went back to normal levels. Everyone is different though so the best I can say is to drop your level (or dilute your juice with VG maybe) and see if you feel better. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I smoked 3/4 to a full pack of Newport Red 100s a day. Is it possible I could get Nicotine OD from only 0.2ml? And yeah I got 18mg just to get off analogs but I'm definitely looking to step down in strength. Vaping is just a little too much fun
:)

Seriously, 0.2ml of 18mg over 6 hours is about 0.6ml over the course of an entire day.
That is truly nothing and you are FAR more likely to be missing nicotine than having too much nicotine.

Most people vape at least 3ml per day.

Combine that with the fact that your symptoms sound 100% more like not enough nicotine.
And the fact that you are experiencing none of the symptoms of too much.

Might you happen to be blonde?

Actually I am :)

That's what I was reading, I saw people vaping 10+ml regularly too. I've tried quitting before and never experienced feeling like this. No matter what I'm sticking to vaping though.

Hey Seef,

I would agree with a couple of the other. Vaping .2ml in 6 hours isn't very much. This sounds a lot more like withdrawls the OD. You have to make the call and pay attention to how you feel but I was a little over a pack a day Marlboro Lights smoker. I use 24mg juice and I vape 3-4 ml in a day and don't get anywhere near nicotine OD. I'm vaping 5 times what you are and at a higher nicotine content and that keeps me quite happy and have had no desire to kill random people for no reason :D In other words, no withdrawl symptoms.

I know the very first day I started vaping, I was nervous enough about keeping nicotine levels high enough not to want an analog. That and the uncertainty of how this would work for me made me feel a little uneasy. Most of it was changing a 35 year habit and there will be some discomfort from that! I got over it quickly and by day 2 I was no longer concerned about withdrawl symptoms. That's when I could begin to relax and enjoy vaping!

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I have no advice for you, but I can post this information from WebMD about the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal, dehydration and nicotine poisoning. If you feel like you need medical attention, then you should seek out a doctor immediately, as medical conditions are nothing to fool around with. That being said, here's some information for you:

Symptoms of withdrawal (WebMD):

Headache
Nausea
Constipation or ........
Falling heart rate and blood pressure
Fatigue, drowsiness, and insomnia
Irritability
Difficulty concentrating
Anxiety
Depression
Increased hunger and caloric intake
Increased desire for the taste of sweets
Tobacco cravings

Symptoms of Dehydration:

Increased thirst
Dry mouth and swollen tongue
Weakness
Dizziness
Palpitations (feeling that the heart is jumping or pounding)
Confusion
Sluggishness fainting
Fainting
Inability to sweat
Decreased urine output

I do hope you are feeling better. Take a big puff of fresh air and try to relax. Although you certainly sound like you are suffering, you probably do not have nicotine poisoning. Most adult cases of nicotine poisoning occur due to prolonged exposure with nicotine-containing pesticides, constant skin to nicotine contact, such as with tobacco leaves, or in very rare cases, improper use of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products, such as the nicotine patch. The amount of nicotine inhaled during regular vaping is usually not enough to cause nicotine poisoning. However, if you do not vape regularly or vape more than usual, then dizziness and nausea can arise.

The symptoms of nicotine poisoning include:

Headache
dizziness
confusion
agitation
restlessness
lethargy
seizures
coma
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
tachycardia (rapid heart rate)
tachypnea (rapid respirations), followed by hypotension (low blood pressure), bradycardia (slow heart rate), and respiratory depression
Gastrointestinal effects include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or burning sensation, and ......... Increased salivation, lacrimation (tearing), and sweating may be noted.

These symptoms come from WebMD, and I am providing for information purposes only. Again, if you are seriously worried about it, you should seek medical assistance immediately. I hope you are feeling better very soon. Get well and good luck.

Started to feel even worse and they were symptoms I easily recognized as withdrawal. Puffed like a champ for a while and I'm a little beat from feeling so bad but I do feel better and calmer. Thanks guys I appreciate it. This is going to be harder than I thought.

Glad you're feeling better Seef. Hang in there, it gets easier.
