Not in any particular order:

1. "It will encourage children to smoke tobacco cigarettes."

2. "It looks like tobacco smoke."

3. "It looks like a tobacco cigarette."

4. "The FDA said that it was unsafe."

5. "We don't know what's in the water vapor and there's no enough research, so you can't use it indoors or any other non-smoking areas."

6. "Diethylene Glycol is used in anti-freeze."

7. "Propylene Glycol is a toxic carcinogen."

8. "Other people could be inhaling your nicotine."

9. "Other people may be confused by what you are doing."

10. "It's not regulated like tobacco cigarettes."

11. "Vegetable Glycerin sounds dangerous."

12. "You haven't really 'quit' smoking."

13. "It has flavors that appeal to children."

14. "It glorifies the visual aspect of smoking."

15. "Prohibiting vaping indoors keeps smoking bans consistent and easy to enforce."

16. "I'm allergic to smoke."

17. "Rather be safe than sorrow."

18. "It can explode in your mouth."

19. "The starter kits are so expensive."

20. "The smoke could be mistaken for a detonated bomb."

21. The bottles of liquid nicotine can be fatal if swallowed by a dog or child.
22. (Haven't seen it yet) Small parts present a choking hazard.
23. A study into the health of the e-cig showed that the included instructions were limited and vague.
24. The deadly drug, known as nicotine.
25. Nicotine is used as a pesticide.

I think Hitler put it best,

"As long as government is perceived as working for the benefit of children, the people happily will endure almost any curtailment of liberty."
- Adolf Hitler

#18 is the one I hear most often, and it takes every fiber of my being to keep my eyes from rolling so far back into my head that they would actually come back around the other way. Ugggh!

Esp. when they've got a cell phone glued to their head when they say it.

The expensive excuse is probably one of the top 5 most ridiculous. Most decent starter kits pay for their-selves within 2 weeks of owning them-considering what one would have spent on cigarettes in those 2 weeks etc. It's really quite funny how some people get sticker shock but they don't think of how much they will save after just a couple weeks and how they can escape the smoke and replace it with vapor!!! (which makes it even better, it's nothing but positive facts). Anyway, I am starting to wonder if the people who vape are the smart-"smokers" of the world. ROFL!!! Actually it's the truth...

And the blowing up thing, use PROTECTION aka Protected Circuit Batteries, make sure your mod is programmed to off when you're not using it... and you will be fine. I mean if you put tin foil in the microwave it will catch fire....think of non PCBs as tin foil and the mod as the microwave. And the protected batteries would be the food-what is supposed to go in microwave. What a simple illustration. ;)

While you make a valid point on it paying for itself quickly ... not everyone can easily afford the outlay right off, compared to finding 6 bux here and there to get a pack of cigarettes. A lot of people these days live paycheck to paycheck, and will often have to find creative ways to make ends meet. It's sad, but it is very true. So I would say that no, the expense excuse is not a ridiculous one.

18. "It can explode in your mouth."

It seems like every time someone new sees me vaping I get this one..."you be careful with that thing!!! I hear one exploded in someone's mouth!!!!"

It's starting to get a wee bit old, and has made me realize just how little most know about vaping, and what the general public perception is.
