I'm going on a flavor splurge and I want to get a bunch of tobacco flavors along with the sweet flavors I'm getting.

So far on my list-
555 DK style Tobac Fla. (TFA)
Captain Black Tobac Fla. (TFA)
Commercial (SM)
English Tobac Fla. (TFA)
Flue Cured Fla. (TFA)
tobacco Absolute Fla. (TFA)
Black Honey Tobac Fla. (TFA)
Acetyl Pyrazine (TFA)

I already have Virginia fire cured tobacco flavor from seed-man and I love it. My GF and family don't though, they say it smells like cat piss lol
I've tried 555 from want2vape and it was disgusting. They may have been using a different source for their flavor so I figure I'd give it a second chance. To me it tasted sour-ish, like a horse barn/corny. Not like tobacco at all.

I know acetyl pyrazine isn't a tobacco flavor, I got it to add as an additive. Is it any good? Is it worth buying?
Please don't say "Yes, if you like bready nutty flavor"
I'm asking *your* opinion on whether it tastes good and whether its worth getting or not. :)

I've been hearing people rave about how good RY4 is. Is it a caramel/tobacco flavor?
I would like to get tobacco only flavors but if its really good I'll get it.
I like earthy, woodsy tobacco flavor. If anyone knows of one with a pine-ish taste let me know.

I know all thats a lot to process^ Any help would be much appreciated. :)

If you've ever had Casablanca from BWB, that's what Acetyl pyrazine reminds me of.

I have only tried one RY4, the Double RY4, and it's fantastic. It's sweet, caramel, roast-y fresh, and gets a little sweeter, and mellow with a little steeping. I have Asian RY4 on the way... someday.

I think you'll like that Black Honey Tobacco. It's a pipe tobacco, and even gives off that feeling like, "Hey, I'm puffin' on tobacco pipe." I like it with French Vanilla, but I want to experiment with other vanillas sometime soon.

I got some of that Commercial tobacco, and on first taste, I thought it was meh, kind of nasty. It reminded me of a cigarette, though. I have it sitting here, and in 4 days, it would have been 3 weeks since the last taste test. So, I'm going to retry it then to see if there are any improvements.

That's all I have from your list there.

Well,I can say that Tobacco absolute is very strong ,is earthy, grassy maybe .You either like it or you don't (duh). I do . The commercial tobacco (seedmans) I just received a few days ago so I don't have a firm opinion on it . I used it to make a small batch of Scubabatdan's tobacco base along with tobacco absolute and 10% ethyl maltol dilution.Thats steeping now with 2 small drops of TPA M-Type. Initially the two drops has overpowered the whole mix (8ml) but I read that it takes 3 weeks to a month to mature and shine . I guess I'll see.
I got some DK tobacco base (tpa) from ECigExpress. I guess its the same as the one from WL? Personally I can't decide if I like it or not. I get a Frito's flavor from it but I still need to try it at different percentages.
Sorry if my post doesnt help much. I can tell you I like the absolute. You may too. Most of my tobacco flavorings are Flavourart.

Most of my tobacco flavorings are Flavourart.

what percentage do you use for your flavorart tobaccos?

and to answer the OP...

i think you should just get them all and try them all out... thats what im doing with Flavor art tobaccos because its exactly what i did with TFA tobaccos.... i got them all and started to try them out... i have also made mistakes.... look at this one for example... i mixed tobacco Absolute (alc) at 20% one day..... it steeped ... and it was crazy potent.. lmao as you can imagine... (i cant really call it a mistake because guess what?..... i liked it)

so i suggest you get them all... they all have good notes for different experiments

Thanks, that helped a lot. I'm going to take off the 555 DK. Corny Corn chip flavor is defiantly *not* what I'm going for.

I'm not a big fan of the M-type. I tried some a while back. It is better than the 555 DK in my opinion.

I like the idea of a grassy/earthy tobacco flavor.

If anyone sees one that I left off which is good let me know please.

Edit-Graffin, Did you like any tobacco flavors from wizardlabs that aren't on my list?

I have found for my tastes ,I like the FlavourArt tobaccos in the 2-3% range, graffinfected. While I have dabbled in diy awhile now, I have only recently gotten more serious . I am a firm believer in fa tobaccos needing 2-4 week steep times (for my tastes ,of course).

To purelyscientific, some people love the DK555 type and you may also. It's a $1.49 gamble worth trying .

I'd also like to throw out a flavor by flavor west - virginia fire cured. Has a chewing tobacco (I never liked chew) taste to me that I find appealing at about 8% .

I'm going on a flavor splurge and I want to get a bunch of tobacco flavors along with the sweet flavors I'm getting.

So far on my list-
English Tobac Fla. (TFA)
Flue Cured Fla. (TFA)
Black Honey Tobac Fla. (TFA)

I think if you concentrate on using those three you will find what you are looking for. I have a custom blend of the Flue Cured that is now a Cherry Pipe tobacco flavor that I absolutely love. In fact just thinking about it is making me want to vape it.

I am not an RY4 or 555 fan really, they are just missing something for me. I can tell you my favorite manufacturer tobacco flavor is Smooth Criminal by Ahlusion. Seriously great vape, can easily be an all day tobacco vape for me. In fact my last 30ml bottle was the only thing I would touch for a week straight. I am more of a fruity and sweet vape person, but the SC is a bit earthy yet smooth as hell at 3.7 to 4.2volts in a Clearomizer or a ViVi. If you go to hot with it you lose a lot of the complexity of the juice and it gets a spicy cinnamon taste.

My Cherry blend is perfect for dripping and higher voltage vaping. I am a firm believer that hardware can make or break a juice. Everything has its own sweet spot. Try the same juice sometime three different ways and at different voltages. Top coil, bottom coil, tank. If you are a dripper only then try three different resistance/voltage combos. Low, medium and high. The flavor of the juice will change drastically almost every time. Tobacco more so than other juices. Spend some time at each level, not hit it three or four times. Make it hours or a day with each one. Of course drink plenty of water during the experiment as well. Of course not everyone will notice a difference and for some it will only be a minimal change. If you are a long time vapor you have probably already done this without even realizing it.

Of course this is just my opinion and thoughts, you may feel differently than I do. All that matters is you are vaping how you like.

Purely, If you are not into Corn chip flavor I would lay off the AP..... That stuff is strong, potent and will overpower everything the more it steeps... That stuff is stronger than cat piss...

On that note, my first juice that I stuck with when I first started vaping was Halo Tribecca and have duplicated it using AP with Double Ry4

At what point does the Black Honey Tobacco stop tasting like petunias and start tasting like tobacco? After 10 days of steeping, I'm still not sure whether I should vape it or dab it behind my ears. I was really put off by it at first, but after spending a little time with it this evening, I've decided that it's actually quite nice in a 'strolling through the meadow on a lovely spring day' sort of way, just not at all what I think of as a tobacco flavor - a nice Chablis as opposed to a single malt scotch, maybe. From what I understand, though, I mixed it way too strong at 10%, which is probably why that floral note is so pronounced. But even at a lower percentage, I can't imagine that it would ever evolve into that darker, earthier flavor that I associate with tobacco.

Hi purelyscientific,

Thanks for starting this thread.

I am on a similar quest as your early Dec post. Wondering how some of these turned out?

I’m curious about the ‘Virginia fire cured’ (SM) which sounds lot like FA’s “Black fire”(which I haven’t received yet.)
described as “Smoky with caramel undertone” ?

I’m committed to trying the Captain Black (SM) and the Black Honey (TFA) from WL (which is currently out of stock)
But am left unclear about the

English Tobacco (TFA)
Flue Cured (TFA)
Tobacco Absolute (TFA)

Have you tried them yet? And I know it’s subjective but any impressions you had would be helpful.
The last one on my curiosity list are the FA Virginia (described as mild /light /aromatic) and the FA Camtel (described as spicy/woody/sweet) any encounters with these?

I’ve really enjoyed FA Burley. I’ve been mixing it with LA vanilla butternut and LA Black walnut.

The TFA RY4 was very perfumed but did settle down eventually -still a bit bland, if I were to go there again I would select the TFA ‘double RY4’ which I’ve hear is less on the floral notes.

Being new to this I'm actually not all that sure which of the TFA's are NOT floral in tone. I don't have many but have been happier with the FA and the LA product - could just be random luck.

thanks for any input
