Hi, just looking for thoughts. I have a mini nova and a few iclear 16 and another CE5 as well as a bunch of heads, so I would like to try and see if I can work this out rather than just bin them.

I really liked my mini nova for a few weeks - better than my protank as I found it gave a smoother, silkier vape. Lately, though, I find I lose pretty much all flavor really quick - like, with maybe .5ml gone from the tank. I have about 5 heads that I rotate - when I change flavours I dump the old one in vodka and pull out a dry one. For this reason I'm not really sure how old any which one is, but they can't have been used for more than, say, 7 days.

I found the same with my iclear 16. When I first tried it I thought it was perfect - huge clouds, good flavor, no leaks, I loved it. After 2 days I'm getting no flavor at all with a good .5ml left in the tank.

I understand that to a degree this is an issue with top wicks, but I didn't find it an issue my first tank on the iclear or on the nova for a decent while.

Any ideas? Do I need to dry burn? My juice is mostly 80/20 and high quality. Sort of frustrated since I have a good variety of top wicks and I like them a lot otherwise.

I've noticed that not all top wicks are created equally. Especially on CE4/5s some are longer than others. Some only extend down about 1/2 length (height) of the tank. If this is the case you may need to tilt it to the side to make sure the wicks are saturated. I've thrown quite a few away because the wicks were too short. Unfortunately, finding full length wicks can be a hit/miss proposition. I've since started graduating over to BCC models. In fact I just got 2 Vision V-tox clearos and I am really impressed with them.

Yes, you'll need to dry burn every week or two, or replace them outright. If you look at the coil is it a bit black and crusty? This affects the amount of vapour you will get and the flavour. If you try to run the coil at higher temperatures to increase the vapour in reduces the amount of time between necessary maintenance and may be counterproductive wrt flavour as well.

It sounds like you just need to do a bit of maintenance.
