Tophet alloy C for atomizer coil

Found a roll of tophet alloy C.

60% nickel, 16% chromium, the rest iron.

7 ohms/foot

1850 farenheit heat resistance, I made a 1/2" long coil the other night, hooked it up to a power supply and threw 1.5 amps through it dry. glowed red hot for over 2 minutes and did not pop.

Ordered some "glass fiber" wick from bulli-smoker last night to experiment, although I might buy some zippo wicks to play around with in the mean time.

you should throw a temp gun at the coil see how hot it is without any wick material running at 1.5 amps just to see...

gave up on the tophet alloy C because it required too much wire to create a usable coil. 7 ohms per foot required almost 6 inches to make a decent atty, which was a little large to fit into any of the tubes I had on hand.
