So I got my TW Tornado 2 weeks ago tomorrow and I wanted to post my findings and compare notes.

Unlike some of the unluckier people on here, both of my batteries are still running strong. I swap them out every 5 hours or so just for the heck of it but I dont have to.

I'm finding it a little (very little) annoying to have to remove the cone to clean everything up once I flood my atty. Which I do. A lot.. But I suppose I need to be more careful, lol.

I don't use carts, I only drip. I'm using the two original attys that came with the kit.

They were great the first week. Very consistent. I think I only had to blow them out once a day or so and they were perfect. Well at about the 7 day mark I noticed they seemed to be getting flooded easier. They tasted dry, and two drops would flood them. Its kind of been downhill from there. I kept getting the nasty burnt taste, so i pulled the wicks out to find them burned and black. So I'm assuming thats what I was inhaling. I can't see it being caused by a dry atty, as I am constantly flooding the darn things. Now the consistency is gone. They only hit well after the 4th or 5th puff, then back to being light and not satisfying.

As I'm typing this I'm starting to wonder if maybe I'm causing all this by over dripping all the time??

Overall I still give it a 9 out of 10 for me. batteries are great, and so is the vapor when everything works right.

Anyhow, thats my synopsis of the Tornado for my first two weeks. Maybe someone here can relate to my experience. Take care!

I found the TW attys that came with my Tornado to be less than great. They never hit that perfect vape spot that a perfectly broken in atty seems to hit after several days use. One of them "popped" after just a week or so use. Stone cold. The other although it still works is very sluggish and weak. The sub-par attys that I received with my first Tornado kit are the reason that I didn't even bother with a kit when pre-ordering my new pink set... just ordered battery and cone. I'll give one of my choice 510 atty vendors my money for a what I deem to be superior product.

As far as the Tornado itself though... I love it! I don't know that I would even bother with any other battery options until something entirely new is developed. I already used the traditional 510 set-up before stepping up to the Tornado and this is most definitely the Cadillac of 510's. I personally think that the cone is the essential component of the magic. It changes the whole experience. The draw is different. The vapor is warmer and feels thicker/creamier.

I have to put in my 2 cents..I had a Tornado for 2 months. After 7 days, one of the battery buttons started sticking, and it died about 7 weeks out, then the other battery died a week later. I contacted TW, and was told that the warranty was for 2 months. As the batts. are not changeable, I deem it a waste of money for the cost. If I decide to order one of these again, it will be an Ego from Janty, as they have a longer warranty period. I loved it while it lasted, and the cone makes a difference..but it would be much better if you could swap out the batts. on it at that price.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. Although I think it is a great product, I'll have to search for a better 510 atty vendor. Any suggestions missyjo919?

I haven't had battery problems...yet...ugh

I do love this model, but i think Island Refugee hit the nail on the head with that signature, lol...it truly is always somethin' isn't it?

I have gotten great products (attys), super fast shipping and fabulous customer service from both LitecigUSA and Cignot. You can find links and awesome reviews for both companies in the Forum Suppliers area. You can't go wrong with either of these vendors! :D

My 1st Tornado atty died at day 3. One of the batteries died at day 38. That dead battery was disassembled and converted to the following pic. It uses a 14500 battery.

I'm currently awaiting a silver eGO from Janty, then my modded tornado may go in the classifieds.

Ill definitely have to try those vendors, thanks for the heads up!

I haven't tried a LR atty yet, as I'm not really sure what the difference is. But I did read somewhere that they dont last as long as a standard atty. That's a minor problem for me, but I see TW adjusted the price accordingly.

Side note, I got my T-Tip in today and I'm very impressed. Very cool!

your all missing the boat on these without trying the LR 510 Atty on the Ego, makes a world of difference and puts out more clouds than a real analog bar none

This! But a funny note; the only LR atties I've found to be good are the TW LR atties. So it puts you back in the same TW boat. I wasn't impressed with H2O or NHaler's LR atties.

Really, I'm using the NHaler LR Atty on my Ego and it's banging greattttt, see difference of opinion I guess. However I have not had more plumes of great vapor on anything more than this Ego NHaler LR Atty combo, I have all GG's made by Imeo ( great dude great product ) Also the Silver Bullet ( Great Product ) and many more, however again this combo og Ego NHaler LR Atty is knock em out great vapor great taste and I havent lost an Atty yet, I keep em very wet like you should and just plumes of awesome Vapor. I would really like to know if you used the NHaler LR Atty WHAT WASNT GREAT ABOUT THAT COMBO FOR YOU SHATNER ???? not being smart I just would like to know what didnt work for you on this set up, because after vaping for a year now it's one of if not the best little set ups at low voltage I have had yet.!!!

I have the Ego and I've never had an atty blow. I know that my vendor, (Happy Vaper) only uses genuine Joye parts and they're great!

That being said, we had a 'vapers get-together' that was great fun! (If you don't have something similar set up where you live, do so! It's great being able to meet with other vapers and give their equipment a try!) Sooo, that's how I got to try a LR atty on the Ego and it as GREAT! Now I'm just waiting for Jack to stock them and I'm on it like a fat kid on a runaway Smartie!

And, the member that let me try his hadn't been having troubles with them so..???

I'm not sure whats causing it. Like I said, maybe by over dripping I'm causing the atty to work too hard? I'm not sure. But I don't feel comfortable soaking them in anything, it just seems like a risk to me due to the inconsistent results. Although there is a mod on here (somewhere) that suggests you remove the atty bridge completely. Its obviously strictly a drip mod, but it works amazing!

All I ever do to clean them is just blow them out. I don't soak them either! Are you sure it's a 'Joye Atty' ? I've heard that other makes can be rather difficult to deal with but I order all of my atties from Jack and haven't had a problem.

If you're overdripping and flooding them, they'll make a gurgling sound, do yours do that?

My opinion re this "rip bridge out" mod is that anyone who hasnt tried it is just plain missing out! I have fixed many atty's that were otherwise just sitting in my parts box as the vape with them wasnt good.

The attys were bad either because of user error  and/or the juice did it...:D still user error, because had I known then what I know now.... you know.

I find having a manual HV PT or mod is a must with dry burn and thats all an atty needs to revive it from time to time.

Point is do the rip out on an atty is good to do as an option and for the atty learning experience:thumbs:

one80bysummer152, try just changing the pitch of your PV during the vape. I mean after you drip and do a puff, then before gurgle happens, tilt the thing up so its more vertical so coil wont be so saturated......twirl it a little too. See if that helps:cool:

This becomes esp imp after the bridge tear out mod, but wow what a cool mod.
