Total newbie... Please advise!

Hello to all, last Saturday I decided to switch to "vaping" just by coincidence. I was walking through a mall and saw a stand of "smoking everywhere" and bought a Starter Kit.

So far I have basically stopped smoking regular cigarrettes, but now I'm learning that there is so much more out there to consider.

My E-Cig, as I read more and more, seems not to be too good, I have to take very loooooooong draws, and basically no vapor, or very little, unless the crtidge is very new. In 4 days I have already used 4 of them, so almost 1 a day.

I'm really considering looking for another one, but I really do not know which one is the best to go to. I have seen the Blucig, which looks great, and also one DS 901, but I do not know which one is better to chose.

Please help, I do not have all that money to be buying one of each... I definitely think I will never go back to regular smoking again.

First up - please don't throw out your old cartridges as you can top them off with e-liquid. Secondly there are lots of devices out there to try. The 901 is very popular. I like the Evo a lot (very long battery life and also reliable imho). I'm using a Janty Stick right now and it's basically just excellent - the advantage here is that the consumable parts (batteries, atomisers and carts) are all available in generic form - so in the long term it can save you money. Just my tuppence - good luck!

I would definitely suggest 901 (over the other). Since you have already jumped in with a purchase and got your big toe wet, tee hee. The 901 will allow you to get the learning curve out of the way, parts and accessories are fairly easy to find, it will take accessories such as: a usb and powerpak too. The usb and powerpack are a great option when you get tired of the endless charging and failure of the batteries.

Then when you are ready, I would most importantly like to suggest you step up to a manual battery. Keep doing your research here and you will find the one that is right for you. Or, you will end up with a collection of several like most of us. It does tend to get addicting, tee hee.

Welcome to ECF, and I wish you the best of luck. Keep at it.

Thank you so much!!!
I will take your advice and go for the 901 then. I do have a question (yes one more)... Where can I buy the personal charger case, the one that looks like a cigar box?

Thanks much again!!

I thought we were talking about the 901 verses B__ vaporizers that you could not decide between. I do not think...that they make a charger case for the 901. (unless it is something new, but havent seen it). I do not have a 901 anymore as I gave it to a relative. But you are able to purchase a usb passthrough and powerpack for them for added battery life.

If it is the charger case you want, you should go up another step and purchase the Dura-C, 510, Titan, etc. You can have the charging case you speak of with these. Still, I suggest you get the manual battery, it just works better, and gives better throat hit and vapor. So you will need manual batteries (not auto) and the charging case for manual batteries (not auto).

Is there a difference between the cases? The couple of places that I've looked at didn't show different cases for auto/manual batteries.
Related, I think: USB was mentioned in a reply to you. I'll pass along my experience with that -- don't make the mistakes I made. :) I got "passthroughs" for both e-bigs I bought (801 and 510). Then thought: I don't want to connect the "passthrough" device directly to my computer at work. So I'll power it with an AC-to-USB gizmo. I went through a couple of those things. Neither worked. The passthrough never powered up. Perhaps some chargers with USB output "see" the passthrough as if it were a battery that has reached full charge -- and then (by design) reduce or completely shut off their output. Just a guess; I don't know how those things work.

After having that problem with a couple of chargers, I got a Belkin 4-port AC-powered USB 2.0 hub. Now the passthroughs work just fine -- no need to connect them to the computer.

Totally new to all of this and I bought the Blucig starter pack cause it was the first one I saw... NO RESEARCH at that point... 2 days ago. I'm very happy that this forum exists. I have been able to gather alot of info in a short amount of time.

Not happy with the Blu so far (Dont even have it yet) everyone keeps saying its a POS, poor battery life, Horrible Customer Service, Ect Ect.

I will try it out once it arrives just because I want to cut back on the analog cigs. and face it I paid 60 bucks for the thing and if the customer service is as bad as reported then I'm not sending it back cause i'll never see a cent back.

I'm very much interested in the Janty Stick but I couldnt find it on Janty USA website. they have a pic of the Janty V2 which isnt available yet so... I dunno.

Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with blucig? How long am I gonna have to wait for it to arrive... will it ever? so on so forth.
def want to know about the battery life. on vid reviews people say about 2 hours or so but what does that amount to in analog cigs? (how many cigarettes would you smoke comparatively)

Thanks in advance.

Really looking forward to joining the crowd so to speak.
