Ok so i plan on buying an ecig with $100 from my mom for christmas, with that being said my budget is $100 firm until after new years when i start my new job, i have used the cartridge ecigs but now want to upgrade to a refillable ecig but i am having a hard time chooseing. I have looked around at lots of kits but none seemed to excite me other than the eGo k dragon etched batterys kit with 2 ce4 cartomizers with 2 batterys 1100mah, charger, needle bottle and gift box for a total of $57.66 from Desireecig.com

i like the look of the ego k with the etched batterys and altho style is not the most important factor i do want it to have a cool look to it so no suggestions on the box styles please. I do want something that can give me some good milky clouds because i love to do smoke tricks.

any suggestions are greatly appriciated, thank you

Ok where did you buy it from and tell me a bit about the quality, the battery life and charge time and how well does it vape? Because what turned me off on the eGo k was that the only video i found of it the guy inhaled all of his hits so they werent that milky so i dont know what the eGo's milk hits look like and i dont want to buy something that i cant get atleast half decent milky clouds with.

Evod quality is excellent! Battery life is dependent on how much you vape but they last me a little less than a day between charges. Only takes about 2 hours to charge with the supplied charger. I love my Evod kit, I can blow some pretty good clouds with it. In the end though it is still an Ego style setup so not the most powerful, but it is a 3.7 regulated battery so the vape stays pretty consistent from start to finish.

I have been vaping for about 5 years now and use mods, protanks and rebuildables now but recently bought an EVOD starter kit to use at work. I love it. I can't give exact charge times, but it is nothing significant. The vapor is fine so long as you use 1.5 or 1.8 ohm atomizer heads. One 650 battery lasts my entire work day. For the price you can get an extra battery if you are concerned about charge times. Do a search on the net to find the best price. I bought mine from vaporauthority.com because they had blue.

Thank you, and i will watch the video when the kids im watching fall asleep, i mean sure i am of legal age to own it but i dont need them going to their mother saying "guess what jared watched with us on youtube" haha
So does anyone have any knowledge of the eGo k's quality and performance? Because i am obsessed with dragons and love the etched dragon on it but i dont want to sacrifice performance for style if it is not a good choice for a starter kit.

if you can wait about a month and don't mind buying from china I recommend FastTech, dirt cheap and no tax/shipping, sells some legit but mostly clones. Gives you a chance to try all kinds of new and different things for dirt cheap until you figure out what exactly you like and works best for you.

There's a lot to keep in mind...so to help find you something more to your liking we will need more info

New Vapor Starter Kits
Vaping is such a personal experience, so obviously everyone's perfect kit will be different and we will need more info about you and your needs. This post is more aimed to those that are ready to move away from cig-a-likes and into the vaping world.

I have gone through the past year of lurking in this forum and what I have learned and tried to piece together to my best a good starter kit for cheap.
============
Some things to keep in mind:
Try to stick to pv's (personal vapors) that have both the 510 and ego connections this way you have all kinds of options when it comes to juice delivery systems.

Variable Voltage (vv) = everyones taste is different so you can set your voltage up or down to help suit your needs as well as different juices and different juice delivery systems (cartomizers, tanks, ect) taste different at different voltages. (how many times can I say different)

Variable Wattage (vw) I haven't tried yet but assuming it is the same principle as stated above for vv.

Passthrough battery to be able to vape while charging.

the higher the mAh the longer the battery life

do you prefer a warm vape (top coil) or a cool vape (bottom coil)? top coil vs bottom coil tanks, to each their own...but go with glass or metal so that there's no worries about tank cracking juices.
===========
so for $35 you now have a nice first and hopefully only kit you will need for a long long time

Also cloud chasing depends on a lot of different things....the first is going to be your juice's pg/vg levels. Next is weather, the more humid the better the vape cloud and then of course there's the whole ohm and rebuilding of atty's for cloud chasers, which I personally don't understand.

As for mods go...are you wanting something simplistic like a mec? It's just a case and a battery. Or something with variable voltage/wattage?

The best advice given to me, for a first pv is to get a vv spinner...

Ad here is my recommendation for a new vapor

Kanger Mini Protank 2 Starter Kit -VV

VV (variable voltage batteries) mini Protanks (glass - so no issues with juice cracking plastic tanks)

You can adjust the voltage for the best flavor for you and it is a reasonable priced kit (a similar kit with ego twists and ce4 clearos with no extra heads cost me $75 just 5 months ago)

This is not a kit you will grow out of quickly unless the hobbyist bug bites you.

I have your answer. Whole thing will cost you about $80. I'm new at this too. First of all, beware of bells and whistles. Usually the best product quality to price ratio is usually the one that falls in the middle. The expensive ones and the cheap ones are usually over-priced, you get the best bang for your buck this way.

Myvaporstore.com will give you the following items for less than $80.
- 2 eGo-C Twist 900mAh VV batteries
- 1 KangerTech ProTank II Mini
- 1 rapid USB charger
- 1-2 15ml bottles of eLiquid

With the remaining $20, you can get yourself a case to hold it all (Joyetech cases are like $12) and, if you don't have a couple already (which I'm sure you do, any modern cell phone that's NOT a phablet will have one of an acceptable 1A output), a wall wart.

This will also get you free shipping and, so long as you don't live in the site's state, no tax so $100 firm is doable.

They shipped my order a few hours after I placed it and it arrived a day earlier than anticipated with the regular free shipping.

This setup, I'm told, is a good starter setup. The protank is really easy to use and is glass so no worries about tank-cracking flavors. The Twist batteries allow you to adjust the voltage in .2 increments over a 3.8 to 4.2 range. This gives you room to play with the wattage without being totally unencumbered as no newb should be.

I just purchased this exact setup myself in the same situation you are. I had been using the cigalikes like Blu, the ones that pioneered the ecig community but now kind of suck comparatively. This is my first upgrade to a real PV and there are TONS of options that can get pretty sophisticated. But without experience, that sophistication is wasted and you run the risk of hurting yourself and/or you product.

Everyone is going to find different products work for them so all I can tell you is that this one worked perfectly for me and I'm in much the same boat you were.

I will throw out one more starter kit. I picked up the MVP2 from 101vapes, and it was 39.99. It came with an Iclear 30, and I think it is pretty awesome. I started with a cheap ego, that I picked up locally, while waiting for the MVP to show up. It is VV, or VW, and the battery lasts for days. At 40 bucks, it leaves some cash for juice.
