batteries arrived today. Got to work, rigged down a bunch of iron during the daylight, and then got posted up with my supplies to build my first micro coil after watching Russ' video one more time.

I didn't have a luer lock needle in hand yet, so I just scored a 1/16 drill bit from the hardware store and did my wrap on that. I used some 28g Kanthal that I got from Rob with my Grand. For wick, I went with the rolled sterile cotton per the instructions.

Looks like 11 wraps, and according to my Provari, comes in at 1.1 ohms.

Loaded up with Pluid, because it's my primary ADV and I am very attuned to the flavor out of a carto and various other atomizer setups.

Fired it up and OH HELL YEAH this is AMAZING!!! The flavor is off the charts. So pure, so massive, so clean. I have built solid coils on an IGO-L with cotton and been happy with the flavor, and frankly, I have been happy with the flavor from my carto tanks, but the RM2 with a micro-coil is something on another plane.

Hold on a second, I have to blast this Grand again.

Ok back at it. I am wondering if the juices I have been using to this point have been somewhat muted because I wasn't using this setup. I'm thinking yes.

As far as vapor goes, it's so thick and billowy that it falls to the ground on exhale. I feel like I am changing the forecast of northern Colorado to "mostly cloudy".

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I can throw a single extra battery and maybe a bottle of juice as a backup in my bag and be good to go all day during a 15 hour shift. I can 86 my extra cartos, extra tank in case I get a random flood, syringe, etc. straight up amazing.

Thanks Rob, and to all of you that have been so helpful. This is the best, least snarky, most helpful sub on ECF and now I know why.

It's awesomne isn't it? :) Congrats.

Next time you build a coil, make the legs longer to get the coil closer to the airhole, and there will be even more flavor. :)

But then my head might explode, like a cartoon character. :)

Yeah I was wondering about that. You mean horizontally closer to the hole, towards the rim of the cup, right?

Indeed, something like this:

:)

Got it. Building this coil was so easy that I can see having some fun doing builds.

That little crimp on the wire on the left is also the answer for keeping the last wrap stuck to the rest too, I would imagine. What gauge wire is that? Looks crazy thick.

Blix is spot on. Here's a little drawing that shows where I place mine horizontally when viewed from the top. It looks just like Blix's only his is real.

Nice vid Pesky :).

Excellent. I see what you are saying. I am also going to play with the height as well, per your superb video, to adjust throat hit. I like a cooler vape and will probably try a higher resistance coil to see how that works. Something around 1.5 would be good I would imagine.

It's kanthal 28. That 11-wrap coil came out at bang on 1.0 ohm.
Coiled on a 1.2mm syringe. :)

Don't be afraid of not using it. Sell it in the classies and buy another Reo for backup.

I used to read stuff like this and think, "You guys are ridiculous and need to calm down."

Now, less than 24 hours after getting my Grand up and running, I have a browser tab dedicated to trolling Rob's site in order to determine what colors are available for purchase at any given time. Yikes!

That's too funny bro ! I was pretty normal before I got a REO too. Once I got one I became a freak. It's scarrrry ain't it :)

I had the exact same reaction. It's weird, because I never felt that way about my Provari. "Ooooh look there's a steel finish to complement my Satin Black"... just leaves me cold. Switch out 'Provari' with 'Reo [insert model]', and suddenly you go all gooey.

Yep, an infection for which there is no cure, only a temporary abatement as your next Reo is on its way :D
