I had a few bad mixes with TFA Sweetner(sucralose...leaving a chemical like taste), that I've since switched off to TFA Cotton Candy. What percentage would you suggest someone start off at using the Cotton Candy?

The best advice I've heard is to get your mix to where you like the flavors then add it( to taste ) to smooth the edges. Probably start at 1-2%. BTW, you probably didn't like the Sucralose thats in Sweetener. Many use Cotton Candy / EM ( Ethyl Maltol ) interchangeably.

Steep for a few days, than add sweetener, or figure out my ratios than top off with my sweeteners at the time of mixing?

I add Cotton Candy as part of my mixing ratio at 1 to 2 % and let it interact with the predominate flavors. Not all recipes need sweetener added IMHO.

Hi all. I have been DIY mixing for about 2months with loran flavors and they seem to work for me. I did not like how much food coloring was in lorann flavorings, so I switched to TFA (plus TFA has a larger variety of flavors, including tobaccos.. yum) I just got my order of TFA flavorings:
Green apple
Juicy Peach
Circus Cotton Candy
Gummy Candy
RF4 DOUBLE
Mango
Lemon Lime
Cola (cola syrup)

I began mixing and made individual flavors to try but I taste nothing when I vape them. I've used up to 25 percent flavoring.

I even tried RF4 double at 15 percent and there is no flavor.. it is extremely weak. I tried Lemon Lime at 20 percent and no flavoring either.. its very weak.. Any idea to why this is happening? I know RF4 double is supposed to be strong and mixed at 7 percent-10 percent.. I like my flavors super strong so this is disappointing. None of these flavors have been steeped but usually I can taste flavors fresh when I normally DIY with lorann.. Could it be just because I haven't steeped them fully? Any help would be much appreciated.

edit: my base is around 75PG/25VG
my vape is just a DCT 3.5ml tank with a simple 650mah battery

Try starting at lower %'s. I start at 5% and go up from there. BTW, if you go to high it actually kills the flavor rather than making it stronger. Also, I believe its RY4.

RY4 double is definitely one of them. Methods have been discovered to speed this process up, Hot water baths, Ultra-Sonic Steeping are among them. The forum has many posts regarding steeping processes, you can use the search tool to find them. Paddymx is also correct that sometimes to much is less.

I would start with 5% Dew for single flavor but I find it's best with a hint or so Lemon Lime. Also 40/60 PG/VG and a few drops Ethyl Maltol (not required) for rounding out the flavors. I myself however don't do anything the conventional route all my juices contain many flavor elements. Soda type flavors imho need a bit of Cola to taste genuine and I really like the Cola with my Dew. Had asked someone to make a Code Red type flavor a while back but he refused so I made my own.

Mountain Dew Red
4.0% mountain dew
2.4% cola
2.4% lemon lime
2.8% blueberry candy
2.8% black cherry
1.6% french vanilla
1.6% sour
1.2% ethyl maltol
1.6% sweetner
1.6% koolada

Bumped up other flavors slightly and removed the LA Red Licorice. Found Gummy Candy did not work for my buds as a suitable replacement. Some may like the dew percentage to be a bit stronger depending on the base used and your style of tank. I find the recipe really tastes best for me in the Protank 2 or other Kanger tanks. I mainly use Protank due to the smaller wick thus ease of switching flavors without rinsing.

i dont have a lot of those flavors yet
