I personally just don't want to be addicted to anything I guess, it just seems like a weakness to me. I can see it being a hobby I guess but if it's something you have to do everyday it's an addiction not just a hobby. Caffeine is an addiction and that's next on my list once I beat the nicotine thing. There's no one else on this site that wants to give up their pv once they feel like they can?
There are so many people addicted to so many things.
--Gambling
--Shopping
--Gaming
--Career
--Jogging
--Sex
--Reading
--Knitting
--Health
--Gardening
--Unhealthy relationships
--Etcetera

I think the idea of addictions is antiquated, personally.
Addictions can be good, bad, or neither.

I am addicated to my wife's love for me, for instance.
And I would never want to quit that.

Enjoying something and being addicted to it are 2 completely different things. If you are a sex addict I feel for you because I'm guessing you probably can't keep a job or a partner.

Nope, sex, freedom and life are something worth fighting for. I know well the difference between enjoyment and must have...

having made the switch to vaping from analogs, i'm much more concerned with unhealthy (read: addictive) relationship patterns & belief structures that shape & limit my interactions with people & where i take myself in life. dollars for donuts those are things i can focus on that will make a far bigger impact than whether or not i vape.
"Addictions" to unhealthy relationships are as bad as anything.
I really hope that if you have that addiction, you find a way to break it.

As someone who has spent much time working with abused women and children, I will go so far as to pray for it.
You deserve to have your life back, on your own terms.

oh gosh..nothing that dire..just making a point. i think we "all" have things we do in relationships that aren't the best for us & those we love. however minor they may be on the spectrum, they can be analyzed & changed, for the better.
