My son-in-laws surgery was a success this morning if you can call it that. They put rods in his back so he can sit up. So sad and I'm afraid it will only get worse.

That is great and at east they kept him alive. Now he has a chance to get better. I will continue to pray for his recovery. Thanks for letting us know Fran.

I'm glad to hear the surgery went well. How are his other injuries doing? The human spirit is strong and hopefully he'll be able to adapt and improve. We'll continue to pray for all of you.

My thoughts and prayers go with you.

We have also had a tragic new year here as well. About a week before Thanksgiving we were told that my mother was terminal. At that point at school my concentration went way south. Took them home from the airport the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and she looked BAD really bad. I called my dad the morning of Dec. 3 only to find that things were far worse than he had been letting on.... Needless to say, I dropped what I was doing at school and made a flying trip to their home in Salina. That weekend consisted of my dad and I praying that the Kansas National Guard could find my brother in the middle of an Iraqi desert and get him home on time. He made it by Monday evening and mom went home to be with the Lord Wednesday night.

Now the school is trying to boot me out of the program for missing so much class time.

I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom. It sounds like you're fairly young. I lost my mother when I was 17. Lost my 3 sisters,my father and my 1st husband. I'm no stranger to tragedy.

5card I think you're a great guy. I'm feeling my age and I don't like it. Just feel old and tired with a blanket of sadness overwelming. I'm trying hard to shake it.

Thank you my friend. I'm a fatalist right now. I fear the worse and I feel so old and tired. Almost all his ribs are broken. He will be in the hospital for awhile.

Thank you Fran. I know the feeling sometimes but I refuse to give in to it. It sounds like you need a very good nights rest to get back on top of it.
Anne I am so sorry for your loss and Have been through it. It's a terrible feeling but the one thing we all have is someday you and your loved ones will all be reunited if a wonderful place. You and Frans family will be waiting for you and all your sadness will be over forever.
I hope when you explain things to your school that they come around.
