I wouldn't use my laptop or any other device other than a standalone USB charger for my ecig applications. A standalone USB charger is safer and more convenient.

If the worst happens while you are charging from a laptop or desktop it's probably going to involve replacing the motherboard or a dedicated USB port card. Use an external USB charger.

Only problem with that is if you're using a mod with programmable firmware. As soon as you jack in to get the latest and greatest feature on your mod, the device doesn't ask if you want to charge or update. It just sees a power source and starts feeding. Then your phone rings, or one of the crumbsnatchers starts bawling or that pot o' gumbo boils over in the kitchen and what was I doing again?

I tend to stick to dedicated USB chargers for my ecig mods. If there are internal removable batteries USB charging is a last resort. I like removing them and using an external charger.

For firmware updates, using the computer USB port is about the only option that I know of.

Like most males I have a one track mind. When I'm on a mission and get diverted, watch out.

My wife can juggle multiple tasks just fine. Re-direct me and whatever I was headed out to do originally may just fall back into the fog for a while! The older I get the less my mind seems to be able to multi-task. My phone has the list of important things to do. I'm electronically dependent on its reminders ...
