Been smoking and dipping for 8 years, never tried to quit. 2 weeks ago I bought a refillable e-cig after trying a friends e-cig at a party. I haven't smoked OR dipped since then and am loving it. I immediately became obsessed and spent hours and hours researching.

Sooo here's what I bought initially:

"Buck Naked" e-cig from a local head shop http://www.bucknakedecigs.com/

Then I ordered this stuff online:

Kanger e-smart kit KangerTech
Several e-liquids from Johnson Creek (i like vandana, and rainier 100% vg) Johnson Creek Smoke Juice - We Make Premium Smoke Juice for all electronic smoking devices! Johnson Creek Smoke Juice
Kanger Protank II (have had many issues, rebuilt several times, unreliable performance, not a fan)
Kanger Protank mini (same problems) kangertech kanger Clearomizer – KangerTech
joyetech ego twist c battery

Then i went crazy.... this is all in the mail:

Mods:
evic variable Joyetech Joyetech eVic starter Kits
itaste MVP "back carbon" iTaste MVP V2.0, Long-Lasting 2600 mAh Variable Voltage VV Box Mod - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin
Sigelei #20 w/ "kicker" Authentic Sigelei #20 Telescope Mech
Sigelei Kick

RBA:
kayfun 91% Russian clone Kayfun Lite Clone by Tobeco RBA Rebuildable High Quality Fast Shipping | eBay
Kayfun tank: Kayfun M Large 34mm Tank Replacement 3 1 Lite Plus Clear New Atty | eBay

Clearomizers:
Vivi nova single coil
Vivi nova dual coil
Kanger T3s

Misc:
ohm checker device
a bunch of kantha and wicks from ebay.
organic unbleached cotton balls/twine/cheese cloth (from whole foods)

I'm done spending money on this for a long time, but i would eventually like to find a glass tank "genesis style" rba with as much positive reviews as the kayfun. Just thought I'd share my first two weeks.

Thanks. I think i went a bit overboard. Might sell the evic back on ebay if I like the MVP better.

I'll keep messing with the protanks once i get some wire in the mail. With the stock heads, there is a terrible burnt taste. Not from lack of fluid, i think it's the wick or wire they're made with. Dry firing a new head seems to help, as well as letting them sit for a while with fluid.

Welcome to the club. Not sure when and if the obsession wears off. I would not admit what I've spent on vape gear at this point. I have slowed down though, but my love for vaping is unrelenting. You're in good company, friend. Best of luck to you!

P.S. The RSST is the number one entry level genny on the forum this last year. Worked first time for me and every time after. Easy peasy. Good luck!

28ga microcoil style w/ wraps touching. I use 3/32 drill bit for protank builds instead of 1/16. Cotton and anywhere from 1.2ohms and above works great. A lot more flavor and much more vapor and lifespan is much more than stock protank heads. I've never gotten a burnt hit w/ that setup on the 10 or so builds I've done. No flavor wick.

Couldn't agree more. If you need a cheap (under $30) entry level Genesis atty, the RSST is great. You're not limited to building with mesh either; I build mine with both mesh and cotton but my preference is cotton. Mesh, for me, just doesn't seem to give the throat hit I want/need. It seems to be the one medium that takes it away whereas cotton continues to deliver full-force until my taste buds tell me it's time to take a bread from the chain-vaping.

Smoktech RSST pyrex for having a ton of feedback. AGI can remove tank to use as a dripper. Cheaper, good quality. By the time you get around to one, there will be a few more... maybe inverted.

WOW I thought i went crazy right out of the gate. i started with the mvp 2 and I am loving it. One of the guys at the local shop let me try his itaste 134 and it was pretty nice and the imperial seal bottom piece is a nice touch. Im going to be saving little money on this new lifestyle for a while but at least i will feel better doing it. This site seems full of knowledge and friendly people and even though Im still new to this welcome and congrats.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I've invested over 200 dollars recently...I'm waiting on my vamo v5 right now actually. I figure now I almost have enough hardware to be able to efficiently vape and keep monthly costs down. I just need to take the time to build coils and all of that stuff. I almost bought a provari, but have decided to hold off to ensure this vaping thing won't be a passing fad with me. I've almost got analogs beat. The mornings are the toughest, and then there's work and not smoking. Last time I quit analogs was with authentic snus, but vaping seems like an even more low risk alternative.
