Tried sub-ohming and maybe it's not for me. Interested in your thoughts.

Just because the industry is in a watt race doesn't mean we will all go along if you were to add up sales of 50 watt and less devices I guarantee it will be hugely larger then for greater then 50 watt most people I know with 100-150 watt devices rarely go above 50 as it is but like the longer battery life or even just the design. There is going to be a place for lower wattage devices as long as vaping exists even ego types will continue for a considerable time as many vapers find those more then enough to satisfy them high wattage simply isn't needed for a satisfying vape. If safety and build quality had increased as fast as the watts I'd be cheering high wattage but it hasn't end of the day I've got two 50w devices never go above 25 now so I have no more interest but am glad the products exist for those who need more it's just not as big a thing as the industry or some users make out.

Comas bro Comas. Long sentences are fine, I do it all the time on here, but you need comas, so its readable. See, so much easier to read, not a grammar nazi either.

Besides that what you say is true. Everybody I know, myself includes who uses high wattage boxes rarely maxes them out. The only time I ever vape at 70w is when Im using a high ohm coil, 1.2-2ohms which lately has been most of the time, except when using a subtank.

EDIT: OP if you happen to buy a high wattage box and RDA dont feel like you have to sub ohm. There is plenty if us here with high wattage boxes & rdas who dont sub ohm, instead we build high and up our wattage.

I swore up and down last summer that I was never going to subohm. At the time, I didn't have a mod that could handle it. Around Christmas, I got the bug and bit on an Atomic RDA. I can build it to whatever I like, of course, but I tried to stick my toes in the water and got just a little under an ohm. Dripping - well, that's not something I'll do regularly. I'm just lazy enough that I need a tank to hold juice so I don't have to constantly top it off.

However, I have some Kanger ST Nanos that I'm really coming to enjoy. I have used the 0.5 and the 1.2 heads (and I'm rebuilding them now, so I'm getting whatever I want on my builds.) I'm comfortable with a direct lung hit, but there are times that it seems harsh to me and I back off. I certainly don't crank my wattage (I'm hitting a 0.5 ohm coil right now with 20P/80V juice, but I'm only running about 15.5W.) When I start pushing above 18-20W, it seems like it's burning on my, and that I don't care for.

However, my "typical" vape is a PT2 with a 1.7-2.0 ohm coil running about 9W.

It's all about what I want at the time I'm vaping (which is pretty constantly when I can :D ) I also have a kayfun mini clone with a 1.2 ohm coil running about 12W, a kayfun 3.1ES clone running a 0.9 ohm coil at about 12W, a PT2 with a 1.8ohm at 9W and my Atomic with a 0.8ohm coil running about 18W.

I vape the way *I* like, and so should you ;)

I agree with you guys. Sub ohming is not for everyone. Ya might add nicotine sickness if you don't drop the mg's to 6 or below. I messed up one time and loaded some 18mg into a subtank mini. After 3 hits on it I thought I was going to throw up. Then I realized what I had done...lol

Hmmm! Maybe this is the problem I am having. Still a noob with tons of stuff to learn.

A few days ago I bought a subtank mini and the istick 30, put my favorite juice in, set it on 30 watts and tried it out. Initial thought was it's an extremely hot vapor and the tip is burning my lips. Tried a few more hits, lowering the power every time and started to feel nauseous. Put in the 1.2 coil a while later (feeling better!!) and found a nice vape for me at 17 watts and didn't get instantly nauseous, but will if I chain vape for 10 minutes or so.

The nic I use is 12mg, which I can use basically non-stop with my emow or an Aspire BDC.

Glad I didn't get the 50 watt istick since I can't ever see myself getting anywhere near 30 watts. With the sub ohm coil the highest I can vape comfortably is around 15 watts. I think building some coils in the 1.5 to 2.0 range will get me to where I enjoy vaping the most.

I still don't know what the fuss is about subohming. In my eyes its just a limit on how much your bttery can handle with the coil. Whats so different about that
? No Matter what if you own a 20 watt istick you cant use a tank or coil that is lower then 1 ohm... Say's low atomizer on screen. and wont fire. Its not lik eyou can change the ohm. Pretty soon everyone will be ohming and wont have a clue they are. Its safer if you know abou it. so you dont go over the limits and bow your home down.

Im on 18 mg of nicotine. I think next moht il go lower. I dont get the same buzz like a cigarette more like light headed feelings.

During the course of a typical week 50% of my vaping is done with a VW device (SX Mini) and an RTA (Kayfun V4), and that's usually around the house. 25% with a VV device (Provari 2.5) and a tank (Nautilus) and that's in a car or at work. 25% with a mechanical mod (one of several Stingrays) and an RDA (Tobh, Brass Monkey, Apo, Mephisto) and that's usually at home or when changing altitude. My typical sub ohm build on a mechanical is a vertical dual micro coil at around 0.6Ω with a cotton z-wick. I used to build a little lower and drip more often than I do now but it's nice to have so many ways to vape and I can always find one that suits my mood and circumstances.
