Hey all. I recently retired my tanks in favor of cartomizers, they seem to give me better draw and throat hit, which is my highest priority when vaping. I have been alternating using them with the G6 and the Triton, and all seemed fine. But recently I have had a few cartos that even when freshly filled for the first time give off a nasty horrible burnt taste. This seems to only happen when I put them on a Triton, I can take the same carto and put it on the G6 and its fine. This is happening with both the low resistance and the regular cartos. I know they are made to be used on either device, but is it the extra power from the Triton thats burning them up?
Any input is welcome, but I'm leaving for work so may be tonight before I can read and reply.
Thanks Halons!

Hey Amy if your putting it on a freshly charged Triton battery that could be your problem. A freshly charged Triton starts out hotter at about 4.2 volts then levels off to about 3.6. Here is a chart BigBen posted sometime earlier to explain this.

Here's the chart:

So yeah, watch out for those first 5 puffs, or so. ;)

I run a carto on mech 4.2v on the getgo. Cartos by themselves have a hard time of keeping up in the wicking department at that high of voltage. You would have to make sure its topped off with juice. I do have good experience with Cartotanks but you just have to remember that they can only wick so fast. Hope this helps:)

Also Amy some juices are more delicate when it comes to more power so it may not necessarily be the carto just that juice flavor. :)

My cartos are usually a combination of Kringles, Mystic and Menthol Ice, in various ratios. I may initially fill the cart with one of those, but then top off with one of the other two. Occasionally I put a few drops of Malibu in for sweetness. I did just get a sample of Shamrock, which I haven't had a chance to try, but it sounds delish. I haven't used horny juice since I switched to cartos.

Just to clarify.....the cartotank keeps the filler in carto supplied with constant juice so you can take longer draw:vapor:

I've heard about carto tanks, but haven't really researched them enough to know if I'd like them or not. I'm really big on no fuss/low maintenance set-ups, which is why I enjoy my Halo hardware so much.
I did just order an Evod kit and some Aspire glassomizers though. As much as I love Halo, I'd like to also have some gear that has more compatibility choices. My heart still belongs to Halo though!

Depending on the exact Aspire model you bought, you can use these coils in it to make it compatible with your Halo battery. The Aspire ET-S glassomizer threads perfectly onto the Halo, and with those compatible coils in there...I love all of mine! :)

Wow you don't know how happy you've made me! I got the Aspire ET-S, and so far I have quit using them because they all give off a burnt rubber kind of taste. I had been using my Evod tanks instead, which I've had no issues with. But I hate that I can't use the Aspires, maybe these coild won't taste funny. And if I could use them with the Triton thats even better, because I hate how the Evod batteries have a recessed button, its very hard on the arthritis in my fingers to press that sucker. I love the bottom coil tank set-up, but I prefer the Triton batteries. This may be a way to have the best of both worlds, Thank you!

The funky looking Smok Tumbler tanks fit and need no coil changes to get them to work. I like them. Easy to fill, clean and I like their design.

I feel the same about the evod batts. I leave mine in my purse for emergencies but so far have always remembered to take a spare VV with me. The Tumbler tank fits on them without changing the coil head from the Triton too.
