Can I ask why you sold it?

The main issue for me was the switch. I use switches on the side but just could not get used to that switch on the bottom. I couldn't seem to push it right to get a consistent hit. I even tried 2 hands! I also topped it off as I did my penstyles but found liquid kept draining down into the battery. It was cleanable but I was just too worried about something getting ruined in there. I mean, ruining a $150 device is a little different than ruining a $10 battery.

Also, I work in an office and I just couldn't find an easy way to carry it. I couldn't hang it off my wrist there, nor carry it in my dress pants pocket. Even when I put it in my purse pocket, I was concerned about the switch being activated. Anyhoo, it really wasn't the performance of the device itself....it just wasn't a suitable device for me.

Ah okay, fair enough, thanks for your clarification.

Funnily enough, I really like the button on the end since I don't hold any e-cig like a cigarette anyway. By chance where the button is really works for me and the way I hold all e-cigs; I'm very lucky :)

As I said, it's not something I'd want to be carrying around in public in any event, I'll just use a normal 901 (or EVO) for that.

I can't see how anything can get ruined with juice, with my other devices I've always been paranoid about getting juice into the auto-switch and sticking it; with a manual switch that's not an issue.

As for transporting from A to B, yes the button is an issue but I've just put together a carrying case so that I can transport it in two pieces. If the button depresses without the atomizer attached it's no problem, the current can't go anywhere. (But I appreciate that if you wanted to actively use it throughout the day, then constantly attaching and detaching the atomizer might be a bit inconvenient.)

Have you found your ideal device yet?

At this moment, the only negative I can think of is that I wouldn't be comfortable using it in public because it looks like a serious druggie device - which technically I suppose it is.

(But then I'm not too comfortable smoking any obvious non-cigalike e-cig in public for that matter.)

Odd how different we can be, because for me it just the opposite - I wouldn't be comfortable using any of those cigarette look-a-likes in public! It's looks is just another reason why I love my SD so much. :D

Another thing, I've heard so many people claim the SD looked like a druggie device, but it doesn't look like that to me. And maybe it's partially to do with me being an older woman, but I don't get odd looks or anything like that when I'm out and about with it either. I get the feeling people must think it's some kind of an inhaler, but in any event, I don't really care what they think.

Yes, I believe I have found my ideal device.....it is the Lady Pipe. For me, it has as good a hit and vapor as the SD. I use 2 throughout the day so the batts have lasted quite well for me. I swap them out when I get home from work. My only concern would be a faulty switch at some point but that's pretty much a chance I'm willing to take.

The SD could very well be more durable than the pipe but if you have to send it back, you're stuck. For me, I'd just go buy another pipe. Compared to the price of analogs, I'm still making out.

And it's just so dang cute! :D

Maybe I was a bit unfair to the SD (and TBH, I have no idea what a crack pipe or similar actually looks like) but it's more that it clearly isn't a cigarette/cigar/pipe/asthmatic inhaler or any other object I could categorise so I would assume that most people would think it were a druggie device (and the same is true of a non-white 901 or classic for that matter) although perhaps less obviously so with just a passing glance.

Although I don't really care in principal I definitely don't want to draw attention to myself either (for any reason, not just e-smoking) and therein lies the [my] problem...

It's funny you should say that, the lady pipe was the head-to-head competitor for me when considering the SD. In the end it was the automatic switch that put the SD ahead in my mind. Of all the failings of these devices, the one thing that makes me twitchy is the unpredictability of the auto-switches.

The lady pipe is very cute through, you're right (and no doubt I'll get one at some point!)

Ah, but Kit, that's the thing - with one of those cigarette-look-alikes, I'm much more likely to draw attention to myself, and contempt as well!

You do know how despised smokers are in most parts, and in public too? :D

I'm the same way, which is why I hesitated ordering the screwdriver in the first place.

But after I got my e-cig I figured out that I don't want to be seen sucking on a plastic cigarette either, and I've found myself cupping my e-cig when I'm out in public. I'm sure I can cup the screwdriver as well.

So I ordered the screwdriver, and I can't wait until it gets here. If it works as well as I hear, then I'll be taking it everywhere. The biggest advantage for taking it on the road would be the battery, I'd think. I'm constantly swapping batteries, and I always end up out of power when I take one of my e-cigs out with me.

One thing I might buy, but would never take out in public, would be one of those e-pipes. I'd feel like I was 8 years old with a plastic pipe in my mouth, and I'm sure people would be watching me, expecting bubbles to come out of the end.

Yeah you're probably right but since I stopped analogs, I've started to notice just how many smokers there are. Because smoking is now banned almost everywhere indoors, when walking down the street, it appears to be a river of smoking people. In this circumstance, something that isn't obviously a cigarette/cigar/pipe would stand out in the crowd.

Maybe when these things become better known, I will use any design publicly without feeling self-conscious.

That's so funny, I hadn't considered that problem with an e-pipe!

The bubble pipe was my first thought when I saw the e-pipe! It seems more practical, but there is no way I'm going to walk around with that thing in my mouth!
