I haven't posted in about half a year, but no worries I have been vaping away with no cigarettes! Since all the technology has changed drastically, I am now wondering what the most trusted/safe/long lasting mod brands are. With the deeming regulation I am trying to stock up on some more box mods and RTAs. Thanks!

Edit: Make that over a year since I have been active.

High end or affordable? What kind of vaper are you, MTL and flavor, or big clouds? There's a huge selection available these days. Given the pending deeming regulations, stocking up is a good call. RTAs, mods with replaceable batteries, and learning DIY and stashing some nic solution are going to be important if the marketplace really does get messed up (probably will).

I would say affordable and I prefer regulated since I don't have any experience with unregulated mods. I guess I would be a tootle-puffer? I vape at 7.0 Watts, 1.5ohms. I also only use mods that have a replaceable battery. I already have about 3 liters of nic and according to my calculations it will last me over 3 decades at 30 ml per 1.5 weeks.
I was just wondering what the most reliable long term use brands are. I had a bad experience with a Cloupour (sp?) dying after 1 month of moderate use. I took a look inside and the entire thing had hot glue over the chip.

Tons of stuff then. I'm almost identical to you. Take a look at the eLeaf Pico. Single 18650 battery, great performance, small, and cheap. There's the Coolfire 4 18650 with a replaceable battery as well. Innokin builds solid mods. There's also always Provari as a dependable brand, which you can find in the clearance section of Provape at a great price which are fine for tootling.

RTAs. My favorite right now is the Merlin. Affordable, easy to build, and good for MTL. I also like the Bellus, but it's a more airy MTL, but still nice flavor and affordable as well. There are always the Kayfun clones, some versions better than others. Smaller tank, the Serpent mini, again an airy MTL, but satisfying. Just buy some extra replacement glass for tanks to protect yourself down the road.

Gosh, there's really a huge selection now - but for doomsday-proofing for a 7-watt vaper, I'll point out that you can now pick up an old school ProVari - click "Specials" and grab one for $35. No kidding... $35.

For boxes, maybe peruse some top sellers here just because they have a good variety: Kanger, Sigelei, Innokin...

Evic vtc minis are really sweet and quite affordable. You can get one at FastTech today for just about $30 with the FREEDOM code.

I decided to spread risk through a variety of mods. I have cloupors, picos, vtc minis, and will add anything I think looks good. I prefer box styles over tubes with 18650 batts. They are a good bit shorter and don't roll.

For longevity I'd say Provari, I stocked up on several in the specials section. I bought many tanks but am hoping on kayfuns for long term and bought a bunch of replacement parts for them too. If you want a mech for backup you can get a kick to make to make it protected, I got nemesis and several kicks for it. There are also short stops for mech's to guard against shorts.

As Bob Chill said, spread the risk.
There's no One company that is demonstrably more reliable than any other.
Provape? Very nice yet the 2.5 mini on sale for landfill is a basically obsolete device by todays standards. The newer provaris are a lot more pricey.
Also, does anyone know if Provape will close their doors as the Dooming Regs playout?..

I love the Provaris, and it's hard to beat the current price on the 2.5s, which are going fast. If you are a tootler, they should be fine. The Pico is a good choice, too, and there are many other high-quality mods out there. Make sure to stock up on tanks, replacement coils, and/or stuff to do your own rebuilds and DIY juces.

Oh ok thanks! I will take a look at those.

You know I have had a really good experience with sigelei so far so I did pick up two of their UFOs on sale. Hopefully they will do well.

I have heard good things about provari since way back when I started vaping two years ago. If they have dropped in price then i am going to check them out.

Is sigelli the same as sigelei? I ordered a couple sigelei so hopefully I won't have issues with them.

Ah, yeah. Sigelei has had some issues with recent models. However, if they were well priced, and you're certainly not going to be making them work hard at 10W, I wouldn't be upset quite yet. Plenty of units out there that are working fine.

I bought several BLEMS and another 2.5 mini, my original mini from 2012 is still going strong :) They last.

There's no One company that is demonstrably more reliable than any other.

That's what makes it so complicated. What's the right choice? A stash of high end mods only or a really big stash of budget friendly stuff? All reg mods have weak spots somewhere in the wiring/chip/screen. No circuit/chip/screen lasts forever.

I wish some mod maker would come out with easily changeable fire button/screen/chip. And make the sled water and corrosion proof. I'd pay big money for that. But I can't pay big money for a lot of the high end stuff out there. I personally can't justify it. Imho- 5 picos or vcts or whatever will outlast 1 $150 mod. I could be wrong but I also feel more secure with large #s of things vs a few expensive ones. I like having a cushion for losing/destroying/theft possibilities.
