Hey all,

About last year I invested in a decent starter kit from premiumecigarette. It was actually pretty impressive at first but it just wasn't satisfying my 1-1.5 pack a day habit. I put it away after 2 weeks and just assumed that the e-cig thing wasn't going to work for me.

My wife is due in August and I promised I would quit smoking by then so I decided to make the e-cig work or die trying. I started Monday of this week and I've only smoked 1 pack of cigarettes so far. That's damn impressive for me! Especially considering that these premiumecigs are less than stellar.

Luckily I found this site this week and after reading damn near EVERY noob post I could find, "The Wonderful World of vaping" (and many other DDBV posts), every review and several video reviews I finally decided to order the ProVape with the 510 atty.

I ordered it wednesday night and sent a message to ProVape through their "Contact Us" link. Unfortunately, my order is still listed as processing and nobody's replied back to my message from ProVape. I'm down to my last cartridge and it looks like I'm gonna be smoking through the weekend. :(

Anyway, I guess there's really no point in my post other than to introduce myself and let you guys know what I decided on. I'm really excited and anxious to get my ProVape and hope the lack of feedback from them is just a fluke.

Hope to post more soon!

Just so you know. I believe that the "Premium" is a KR808.

I also purchased one. It was ok but I still wanted analogs. What I learned, after buying other e-Cig starter kits and getting into this forum, was that there was nothing wrong with the e-Cig, It was the OEM juice that they put in their cartos that was lacking.

Save your empty cartos from your Premium. You can refill them with better juice. You can also get KR808 cartos from other vendors that are cheaper and better than the ones that you get from "Premium". I think you will find that the "Premium" e-Cig is actualy a nice unit when it has a good carto on it.

Also, you know that your 510 can also take cartos? They have a different thread than your premium but you can get a thread adapter so you can use your "Premium" cartos on your 510. Its a KR808 Battery to 510 atty adapter.

Let us know how you like the carts on the 510. Most people who have used cartos find it hard to use carts.

Welcome to ECF :) Glad you've read around and found info you needed. I hope you get your Provape soon so you can get off the regular cigs. I use the eGo and Riva and see that you will be using the 510 Provape as well, the eGo and Riva are 510's they just have bigger batteries for longer battery life. I use the 510 cartomizers on my eGo's and Riva's and really enjoy them, not as much hassle as having to fill the little cartridges so often, but I just get annoyed having to fill stuff constantly, lol. Good luck to you and congrats on both vaping and your soon to be baby :)

i feel ya... it was the same way with me. i got my 901 a while back and it took me quite a long time to finally get away from the analogs. im very happy that i finally did!

the longer you vape you will learn your habbits. its a little bit different than smoking analogs, when you smoke real cigs you know when you need more. with real cigs you can just go to the store and get a pack.

you will have to learn your habbits with ecigs. as in how much you vape, when you vape, how long your batts should last...things like that.

i know one rule that i follow is knowing when to order more e liquid. i usually buy 2 bigger bottles at a time, i fill up 2 small 3ml bottles as soon as i get my stuff in the mail. as i run out of the e liquid from the big bottles i start on the small bottles. when i start using the small bottles, i know its time to order more and i also know that i will be almost out by the time they come in.

always make sure you have more than you need. if you are going to work or something like that, make sure all of your batteries are charged up, i usually take 2 batteries with me to work and they usually last me the whole day... i also have a 3rd one ready to go when i get home..

timing is everything! spending a little bit extra will save you in the long run!

stick with it. its a little odd at first, but you will get the swing of things.
and congrats on the new member of your family!

be good!

zoiDman - That's good to know thanks! Iinitially was leaning towards the Vapor King (which is a KR808 right?) based on DDBV's posts. I'll definitely hang on to the premiums and try some different cartos/juice/cart combinations to see if I can get more out of it. I do like the portability of it.

Bella Luce - I'm not sure how I'll like filling the carts, myself. I ordered LR cartos and and LR atty with carts; as well as the standard cartos and atty/carts for experimentation. We'll see which works best. I am kind of a gadget geek so the interactions might do me well.

And thanks for the congrats on the baby... I'm pretty excited/anxious about that too!

Thanks everyone, for the welcome and the input.

zoiDman's post got me thinking so I went looking for the 510/808 adapter.

It appears that the 510/808 is the same as a 510/901. Logic would suggest that I could use a 901/510 adapter and use the 510 LR atty or LR cartos on my Premium batteries. If so, that would let me use the premium batts and still be able to use it discretely in public when I'm not sitting at work or at home. As cool as the ProVape is, I still think it's going to be a bit bulky for a bar or when I'm on the bike.

I starting vaping about three weeks ago and ordered a kit through vapor4life. I have not smoked an analog since. I started out with 24mg cartridges, as I was smoking 1-1.5 packs a day for about 8 years. That got rid of the cravings to smoke for me.

Since then, I've ordered juices and blank cartomizers and have dropped my nicotine level to 14mg and next week I will be at 8mg. I did experience some nicotine withdrawal symptoms every time I dropped a level, but they went away after a day or two when my body got adjusted to the new nic level. Hope that helps.

My theory is that if I buy a starter kit and I don't like the cart / atty, I can allways use the batteries with an adapter with something else. So its not like money down the drain. Or at least, not all of it.

I'm not sure about a 901, I have never used it. But I do know that a 510 Battery to KR808 carto adapter will let you use your "Premium" cartos on your 510 or eGo battery. I'm vapinmg that setup right now. It only makes the e-Ciog about 1/4 longer. This site which I trust says it will work.

Joye 510 to DSE901 atomizer or KR808D-1 cartomizer adapter

vaporkings is also a Great place to get Boge cartomizers for the 510. I think Boge are the best that I have tried.

I've also dealt with this site and their prices are rock bottom and they have FREE SHIPPING.

Ecig Adapters

I'd feel guilty just buying a $3.99 adapter from Jeffery but I'm sure you can find something else to make it worth his time.

I went with a 510 a couple months back and never touched an analog since... the first week was hard, it really was, but when the cravings were the worst I sucked on that 510 like a pacifier. Once you get into buying your own e-juice and filling carts or cartomizers (I LOVE those things... so EZ and hassle free) vaping might turn out to be more enjoyable and even easier than your smoking habit... I know it was for me. (1.5 packs daily, 9 years smoking)

What I use:
Starter kit from cignot.com (35.00 for 2 batteries/two carts)
Cartomizers from litecigusa.com (soft tip, 7.95 for pack of 5) these are used in place of atomizers, hold lots of juice, and are way cheap so you can use one per flavor
E-Juice from vaporbomb.com (strong tasting juice, cheap, and just... wow. awesome!)

Welcome back from the dark side skri11a.

I am new to vaping (about 2 weeks now) and like you I did the research thing and it came down to the eGo or ProVape for my first PV. I went with the ProVape-1. I ordered it with a few Joye 510 atties, a few empty carts, and a couple AW batteries. I ordered on a Monday and got them on Thursday.

I really like it, well built, solid, hits great and a battery lasts me all day. As you noticed, it is a little bigger but not too bulky. Manual button is great.

I did not care for the ProVape sample juices. It's just not my taste, a little harsh for me. They did send 5 samples of various flavors that were 16 mg and 24 mg. That got me started while I waited for the other juices I ordered from another vendor.

I have ordered from ProVape again for a couple more atties and carts, again they arrived on day 4. (I found out that stronger flavors like Cinnamon tend to stay with your atty even after cleaning.)

I am sure I will be ordering other models from other vendors just for variety. I like my toys. :D

I think you got a great PV, but the some of the enjoyment or frustration will be the juice. Nicotine level, throat hit, vapor, taste, etc. It's an individual thing you have to work through.

I use to smoke 3/4 a pack of mild analogs a day.
Now I vape about 1 to 1 1/2 carts a day.

I started with 24 mg of flavored juices with 0 nic doubler (or double flavor 24 mg juice and 50/50 PG/VG mix). That way I could adjust my nicotine levels without losing flavor to find what is right for me without od'ing or gaving withdraw. Or if you like it stronger nic in the morning and lighter in the afternoon. You may need something stronger to start with. Everyone has different tastes.

These forums are a wealth of experience and knowledge. The people are great and very supportive.

Just my random thoughts.

Again welcome and enjoy your journey.

Jim

Not sure if the premium batt is the same size and the kr808 or 510 batts. If the premium is , you may want to get the lanyard they have for them. I use it on my bike and works out great in case my hands get busy ( breaking and pulling in the clutch unexpectedly) I can let go of the PV that is wrapped around my neck via the lanyard.

Happy Vaping

Thanks for all the info everyone.

I received my ProVape in the mail yesterday but alas, they forgot to include the batteries!

Very frustrating. I just sent them an email this morning so hopefully we'll get it straightened out but I've got more waiting ahead. lol

Which makes me wonder. Where would you buy similar batteries that work for these modded PV devices? Specifically, would local hobby stores carry them? I realize the model specific batteries are all online but the modders are using batteries that should be available in a brick and mortar store right?
