I just called them and the person on the phone didn't know she said to shoot them an email and the owner will follow up.

Would a 3ml syringe be okay for measuring volumes?
And are their bottles any good? I've had some that were extremely stiff.

Honestly I'd rather piece it together than buy a kit that way I can get exactly what I want.

Piecing together Your own set probably is the better way to go, or get a smaller kit and augment it, might save some $ that way. As for a 3 ml syringe for measuring that depends on how big of a batch You want to create. It would be good for starting making small batches not only to get past the learning curve but also to perfect a recipe. once find a recipe you like You will probably want something larger, if you end up making a 30 or 50 ml batch, doing it 3 ml's a time would be time consuming.

youll definitely need syringes and needles. go for the wider gague needles (wider ones have lower numbers and wont have trouble pulling up VG).

get a 3ml syringe, a 5ml syringe, and a larger one like 10ml. youll want at least 1 syringe for your nic, one for PG/VG and 1 for flavoring. sure you can wipe em off but while mixing, its much easier to have dedicated syringes.

I have 1 2 3 5ml syringes. If you get the disposables you'll want to place a piece of transparent tape over the numbers. The numbers will come off when you clean them. Also try and get a 14gauge blunt needle tip. VG is thick and needs a bigger tip. You wont need beakers since the needle does the measuring. I mix straight into the bottle. I recommend glass bottles. Get 10 15mls and you'll be fine. I also recommend your getting a ultrasonic jewelery cleaner. They don't cost much ($25). I put my fresh made bottles in the cleaner for around eight 8 minute cycles. The water also gets warm which people recommend to help the steeping process. Since you're new you'll want to find out how your recipe tastes as soon as possible. Would be a drag to mix a recipe then say in a week I can try it! My 8 cycles does not give it a complete steep but gets it far enough along to try. Couple days later and it does fully steep. One other thing, you don't need a needle for every flavor. Just wipe off the needle and go to the next flavor. Good luck

So what's the best way to test out your new juice? I use a carto tank lol...

I've read about drip tips with an atomizer, is that the way to go?

IMO a bridgeless atomizer is the best for testing juices. you can use a bridged one, but the bridge will soak in more liquid and make it harder to blow out and start fresh. so either get a bridgeless atty or de-bridge one.

you could also just use an empty nova tank. just drop a few drops directly onto the coil. same for a CE4 aka Stardust. but the atty is the best route. cartos wont be a viable option as the filler retains the old scent and its a huge pain to clean those.

another less viable option is to pull the polyfill out of a horizontal coil carto. you can drip a drop or two on the coil that way but its not really a great option.

Borrowing this from my response to another thread from some time ago.

I have been DIYing since… well honestly since I started vaping. As I have just actually ordered quite a bit of supplies for my lab I think I'll add in my two cents and offer what I feel is a very comprehensive list for the conservative mad scientist that won't leave you going 'I have too many of this and too little of that!'

If you’re not too worried about shipping costs I suggest ordering from 4 Vendors:

1. Syringes (from Pet Supplies | Dog & Cat Supplies, Pet Meds | DrsFosterSmith.com Pet Products)
15x1cc
10x3cc
5x6cc
Total Cost (With Shipping): Approximately 12$

Why so many syringes? The markings can wear off, they can wear out, break, become lost and sometimes I'm just a little bit lazy.

2. Propylene Glycol/Vegetable Glycerine (from http://www.essentialdepot.com/)
1xGallon of PG
1xGallon of VG
Total Cost (with shipping): 48.06

Finding this is simple at the top of their page is a link to PG or VG, either link will offer (after scrolling a bit) the 1 Gallon of each with free shipping.

3. Nicotine Extract and Lab Supplies (from https://wizardlabs.us/)
125mL of 60mg is only 11.39 (and prices range up and down from here)
The quality of Nicotine is by review just the best (price is amazing too).
7x14ga Blunt Tip Needle (.65 cents per) I suggest this gauge for working with PG any combination of a few others wouldn't hurt.
Total: 4.55
When it comes to bottles, I suggest glass. I like how they can be cleaned out (just make sure to clean them properly and safely) and reused a lot more than plastic. Basically I'm just going to suggest glass and you can just pretty much halve the cost if you choose plastic.

5x60mL Amber Glass Bottle (1.19 per) (Storing base you decide to make once you've cut your Nic)
5x30mL Cobalt Blue Glass Bottle w/ Glass Dropper Top (If they are out of stock, go for the Amber and don't be afraid to use a 1cc Syringe to dip into it.) (.99 for Blue, .89 for Amber)
Total: 10.90
Another note on bottles, when I first started I ordered a lot of 3mL bottles, only a few 5mL and almost no 30-60mL bottles (boy did I regret it). You know just because you have a 30mL bottle, nothing is stopping you from mixing 3, 5, 6, 24mL in it.
Total (with Approximated Shipping): 34.84

4. Flavour Art Flavoring (http://www.ecigexpress.com/)
I am, always have been and probably always will be one who drinks from the fountain of awesome that is Flavour Art. Their true to life flavors are absolutely amazing, how little you have to use is also amazing. I say this every time with FA remember ‘Apple’ is Apple, a real Apple not the Runts Candy Artificial Flavoring Apple . So far this has held true for all the flavors I have tried from them. Also I use a maximum of 2.5% flavoring in any recipe – I mix at 50% PG/50% VG, 9-12mg Strength without sweeteners (they’re sweet enough on their own). I usually use a glass bottle and give it a boiling water bath to speed up steeping process. (I include all this bonus information so you have the highest chance of replicating what I experience instead of just saying, I use 2.5%).

I suggest to pick at least 5 flavors you think/know you will like and purchase them. Almost all (if not all) non-tobacco flavors cost 3.99 for a 10mL bottle. I at first felt like this was a huge risk considering other vendors sell their flavorings in much lower quantities for slightly less price meaning with my budget I had to carefully pick flavors my first time. I have yet to be dissatisfied with any FA flavoring. It is worth noting some of the flavors sold here do contain Diacetyl which is harmful and should be avoided (its noted even in the brief description however so they are easy to spot/avoid).

Total cost (of 5 flavors with Approximated shipping): 23.94

This brings you to a total cost of:
$118.84
Feels a bit steep and the biggest cost being the PG/VG (though honestly it will be more than likely over a year’s supply and you also have the option of simply ordering your PG/VG through Wizard Labs at lower quantity and thus lower cost).

This is actually the set up I wish I had purchased from the get-go. If you have any questions or such feel free to contact me. A few things I may have left out such as safety equipment (gloves and such) can easily be purchased at just about any store locally or any vendor listed here.

Kanthal Wire and Silica Wick. https://www.thehouseofvapor.com/ has both extremely cheap. I suggest (if you plan on using 1.5-3ohm coil) getting 32ga Kanthal (30 feet is like 3.5$). As for silica it looks like they are out of stock for anything reasonable other than 3mm which should be fine. Just remember rebuildable attys can burn out your eGos so it is best to use a big battery mod of some sort (Vamo for instance). You will also want a multimeter to test the resistance of your coils especially if you do not have a mod that will do that for you.

Awesome, thanks. I am watching a youtube video now on wrapping the coil and wicking a atomizer now. The guy has this little piece of ss mesh (looks like tubing to me) that he wraps the coil around. What is that and do I need it? Or can you just wrap the coil around the wick?

Any reccomendations as to what atomizer to get? I'm looking at the Dream and Igo-s

You can use Stainless Steel Mesh but I do not recommend it if you are just getting into this. Do not get me wrong, I love SS mesh and would recommend it to any seasoned veteran but if your new stick with silica. The video your watching may be using a hybrid wick (SS Mesh and Silica). I suggest you watch a lot of videos and especially videos for specific devices.

What rebuildable atty to get? That could be based off a few different factors such as 'Ease of Rebuilding' and 'Form Factor. An Igo-S is a beautiful little rebuildable but its small and you might night like how it looks on a bigger mod. An Igo-L is bigger and though it is not flush with things such as a Vamo or iSeason it looks a little bit better. My honest suggestion for anyone's first rebuildable is a Phoenix Clone. Phoenix Rebuildable 510 "Dripping" Atomizer

I actually purchased mine from litecigusa and I love the thing. Vaping on it right now actually. It was extremely easy to rebuild and litecigusa had the benefit of adding everything from the mini-screwdriver to 5 extra pre-made wick and coil assemblies.

Another nice thing about the Phoenix (Clone, the clone has that nicely sloped tip instead of a flat top making it look like your vaping on an exhaust pipe) is that it has a juice well. You generally stuff that well full of silica wick and you can store quite a bit of juice.

I just noticed on the website they have the phoneix atomizer you linked to and "v2." Which one should I get?

Alright I had to do some googling to see some better pictures of the version 2 disassembled. It offers a detachable well and what looks to be a deeper well attachment. I cannot really endorse it as I have not used it, it does look like some improvements have been made but other problems are arising.

I would say stick with the original clone to be honest, I have experience with it and V2 looks like it is begging for problems.
