Trying SS cable for wick. Ribbon wire ..your thoughts?

I bought some 316 food grade 7x7 3/32" stainless steel cable for trying as a wick. My thoughts are that it does not work as well as mesh but I could be doing something wrong .
Also tried using ribbon wire 3/4 wrap with it and that is turning out horrible

Is there something different you have to do with these compared to mesh and standard kanthal wire?

I put the mesh on the top of my wire where my coil will go and oxidize the heck out of it. Even tried wrapping the whole thing in mesh .

As for the ribbon wire sucking it seems like it takes war too long to heat up??

Ideas? Your experience? Tips and thoughts?

The reviews on the sellers web site said the same thing as you.I doubt it's your fault.The only thing you did wrong is believing the stuff you saw posted here.

Well technically if we are supposed to NOT believe the stuff we see posted here then we shouldn't believe your post either which means we should believe stuff here since your post, according to your statement, is wrong.......

You're right .I should have said ignore 99% of what you see.After awhile you'll figure out what 1% to trust.

I saw a guy that run a vape shop with the same setup, he use small strips of eco wool that completely insulated the cable. He said it worked great. I haven't yet had any luck with ribbon wire though.
