Hi all,

I'm starting to experiment with DIY tobacco juices. I do extract my own NET juices, although they are pretty tasty, they do gunk the coils even after 2 ml.

I decided to experiment with vendor non-NET tobacco flavorings and decided on the following. The non-tobacco flavors below are the nuances I think I'd like in a vape along with the main tobacco taste.

I'll first mix these flavors in a 60/40 PG/VG 10mg/ml nic base and test them as stand alone. The percentages are what I compiled from the forums for stand alone flavors...

I'm looking for a complex and interesting tobacco taste without being too "smokey" like Latakias or campfire smoke. I'd like to have some faint nuances of caramel, cacao, nuts and a touch of tropical taste (hence pineapple).

My ultimate vape will be like American Spirits Organics + some cigar wrapper nuances :) I know I'm wanting too much :)

FlavorArt Tobacco:
7 Leaves 2%
Desert Ship Blend 2%
Cigar Passion 3%

FlavorArt:
Cocoa 5%
Hazelnut 2%

Capella:
Caramel 8%
Chocolate Coconut Almond 13%
Coconut 13%
Pineapple 13%

Liquid Sucralose as sweetener

Are any of these flavors in these percentages coil gunkers? How about sucralose in terms of coil gunking.

Do these FlavorArt tobaccos give some sense of real tobacco experience: 7 Leaves, Desert Ship Blend, Cigar Passion ?

Any comments will be appreciated!

I have a different impression of 7Leaves than Blueser does. To me it tastes very similar to tobacco - a very nice combination of Latakia and Perique if you're into that type of tobacco. It has a slightly sweet aftertaste so no Sucralose is needed. I also like Dragon's Leaf, a tobacco recipe I saw here on the ECF. It's a combination of 7Leaves, Blueberry, Dragon's Fruit for sweetness plus cream of some kind. Both of these tobaccos are my ADV. Neither one clogs my coils. As for FA cocoa and FA DS, I am not very impressed. Cuban Supreme has a mild tobacco taste with elements of Burley. It does not taste like cigar as the name would suggest.

Thanks Exchanger. Does 7Leaves have smokey character like how bacon has it like campfire? I'm trying gauge "how much" it resembles real Latakia tobacco in terms smokey character. Thanks for that recipe too.

Regarding Cuban Supreme, I read similar reviews. Not bad as a tobacco but nothing like cigar. That's why I've been thinking about trying FA Cigar Passion. I'm hoping to get at least some cigari like nuances from it but not a complete Cuban experience :)

Also, thanks for the FA cocoa feedback. Do you have any suggestions for realistic chocolate/cocoa juices to go into tobacco mixes?

Thanks.

7Leaves does have a smokey character, but not like bacon or campfire. It resembles Latakia quite a bit, only stronger because of the added Perique. For a smokey campfire taste, you probably need Black Fire tobacco from FA. I have it steeping right now and it smells like burned wood or smoked meat. You're supposed to use less than 0.5%, perhaps 0.33%, mixed with your other juices. I won't dare vape it by itself.... As for chocolate/cocoa flavor, I am looking for one myself. Hopefully someone will chime in for a good choice. You might look into this thread using the search function "chocolate" or "cocoa":

Thanks again for clarifying 7Leaves. I'm actually trying to avoid the campfire kind of smokiness. It becomes too overwhelming for me.

There's a lot going in that thread. Thanks! I'll go over it. I'll let you guys/gals know what I decide about cacao/chocolate.

I decided to leave out 7 Leaves and add Cuban Supreme. From some of the reviews, I saw that Cuban Supreme has more tobacco flavor than 7 Leaves. But Cuban Supreme has no cigar-like characteristics which is OK since I have Cigar Passion in my list.

Exchaner, would you agree with Cuban Supreme having more tobacco flavor than 7 Leaves?

They both taste like tobacco. It depends what type of tobacco you're into. Cuban Supreme reminds me of Burley. 7 Leaves is more like Latakia - similar to Parliament cigarettes I sometimes sneak into my routine. Desert Ship is more like a nutty tobacco. Virginia is mild. A couple of people have mentioned it reminds them of celery, and I happen to agree. But others like it a lot. Another flavor people like is Maxx blend. I have read several good reviews and personally like it a lot. It has the slightest hint of caramel. To me it tastes better than DS or Virginia. BYMMV. Hope that helps.

Thanks on the heads up for steeping the tobaccos. I was thinking at least two weeks, and then after that taste once per week...

That chart is great! I wish it had some of the more recent ones too.

There's this one in the attachment for FA tobaccos (especially page2) for the more recent tobaccos but good luck with trying to distinguish between some of the colors :)

Thanks Exchaner. I already put my order in yesterday with Ecigexpress. I'm getting the 10 ml FA flavor bottles each. I think I'll prepare 10 ml juices each to test them out over 1-2 months. I have 11 flavors total -- it'll be a mass production :) Here's my "current" percentage plans for stand alone tasting:

Desert Ship Blend 2%
Cigar Passion 2.5%
Virginia 2%
Cuban Supreme 3%
Burley 2%

Cocoa 3%
Hazelnut 1.5%
Coconut 3%
Caramel 4%
Honey 1.5%
Pineapple 4%
