Yes. That's how I started and it's still my preferred method. 1 ml is about 20 drops, ergo 5 ml is 100 drops.
@Katrya,
have you ever tried calibrating this (20 drops = 1mL)?
I have done it (using a 1mL calibrated syringe as a graduated cylindar); and can only get 30-65 drops per milliliter. Nothing close to 20 drops/mL. I have tried pure VG, PG, and various ratios. Along with, various tips, needles, and pipettes. I have yet to find anything close to the magical 20 drops per mL. What is your secret?
I do acknowledge, that Bill's "100 drop test" is a good
rough ballpark guesstimate (when all components are equally unknown; it is as good as any)( nor does Bill claim any semblance of accuracy; but only a good starting point), when comparing/integrating flavors. But, NEVER, have I seen, a single comment say, how they get
only 20 drops of any single ingredient, to the full milliliter. Perhaps pouring "drops" out of a beaker?
I am not trying to be a jerk. I genuinely don't understand where this "generally" accepted average came from.
