Hi,

Currently, I'm using my MVP2 with one of the following tanks (Nautilus, AeroTank Mega, Protank 2, some others I forget their names, but predominantly the AeroTank Mega or the Nautilus as my wife as sort of confiscated all of our Protanks 2 tanks after she tried one of them and realized the vapor it produces is probably 10 or more times as much as her usual Protank 2 mini), anyway I digress... I'm usually using my AeroTank mega or my Natilus tanks with the air opening on wide open and the wattage setting on my MVP2 set to about 9 or 9.5 (sometimes less with some eliquids that demand a lower wattage) and I'd really like to get more vapor out of it.

I'm not trying to be a cloud chaser by any means, but I'd really just like to get a substantial amount more vapor out of my unit.

I've tried going up in wattage to 10, 10.5 and finally 11 watts but most of the time any of the eliquids that I use have a terrible taste at 10 to 11 watts and i'm not sure why. Sure, it produces a bit more vapor but it also produces a different flavor that is not there at 9 or 9.5 watts. I can't necessarily say that it's a burnt taste as the only burnt flavor I've tasted was when I rebuilt a coil for my protank 2 and used cotton balls for the wicking material and the taste that I get using my MVP2 at 10 to 11 watts is not that burnt cotton taste but something else.

Anyway, I'm just trying to figure this out....

It seems that if I want more cloud vapor then I have to up the wattage on my MVP2, but if I up the wattage to 10 to 11 watts or 5 volts then it changes the flavor of all the liquids I use to something undesirable. So, that sort of leaves the tanks that I'm using (which we'll only consider the Aerotank mega and the Nautilus) and I don't see how they could make more vapor than their currently doing, or is there a way to do that? I've not read anybody complaining that either the Nautilus or the AeroTank mega don't produce enough vapor so that leaves me puzzled why my vapor is not substantial like I see in so many videos of people using similar equipment. I suppose it could also be the eliquids that I'm enjoying (Doc Bailey's Elixir "Lemon Bar" and Cuttwood's "Sugar Bear") one of which is a darker brown liquid and one a nearly clear liquid. Is it possible that the amount of vapor that I produce is not a problem with my hardware but the liquids that I use are simply not big vapor producers?

I don't want to go to any sort of drip system, as I don't want the hassle of having to carry around a bottle of liquid and have to fill it all the time, nor do I wish to make clouds like I've seen from the drippers at the local vape shop, that's overboard for me. I'd just sort of like to be able to make vapor like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM5mm0CYJmo
I understand he's using something called a Silo tank and I'm using either the Nautilus or the AeroTank mega (both genuine, not clones) so I'm thinking that I should be able to get vapor like what he's showing.

I hit straight to lung with both of the aforementioned tanks, and many of the times the MVP2 shuts off on me (after the 10 seconds) so it's not like I'm taking small little hits, I'm breathing in almost normally with a wide open air setting on both tanks but my vapor is nowhere near what is shown in the video.

Any suggestions, short of moving to some sort of drip system (whcih as mentioned I'm not feeling I wish to do that at all).

Thanks

Of course I knew I'd forget to list something.
I believe that all the liquids that I use are 50/50, I use Doc Bailey's Elixir "Lemon Bar" and Cutwood's "Sugar Bear".
According to my MVP2, the AeroTank coil has a resistance of 2.2Ohm and the Nautilus coil is aproximately the same.

Will a higher VG juice also produce a harsher hit? I can never keep it straight whether it's a higher PG or VG that produces harsher hits.

You could try a bottom fed dripper like the Reo Grand. I didn't watch the video you linked to, but using a Reo Grand with an RM2 RDA will give you the great flavor of a dripper without the hassle of carrying around a bottle of juice. You can also use cartomizers and Cisco type atomizers. I have two Grands and they are really handy when I'm driving or just out and about.

For really huge vapor I also use mechanical mods with RDAs around the house. I don't mind dripping more juice every few hits. Another option for me is using an RDA or RBA with a 30w box mod, like the Cloupor. I get pretty big vapor and flavor even when running a 1-1.5 ohm coil at 15 watts.

The last thing to keep in mind is that higher VG content in your juice will yield more vapor.

Higher PG yields more throat hit. I had the MVP2 for a while, and while it is a nice device, it just didn't give me what I was after. I have moved on to a Hana Modz v3. The Hana delivers on every front. It cost quite a bit, but honestly, I wish I would have started out with this mod. It may have saved a four month slip back to cigarettes.

I'm using either an Aerotank v2 or an Aerotank Mega with 1.5 ohm heads.

You may want to try the BVC coil in your Nautilus.
I have an MVP with an AeroTank and it doesn't hold a candle to the Nautilus with the BVC.

They both also come in lower resistances than 2.2 which will help some.
1.5 for the Aero and 1.6 for the BVC if I remember correctly.

I got no time for drippers either :D
You'd be hard pressed to drip on an MVP - found that out the hard way too...

When I started the only way I could remember it was:
  • PG = Pop in the throat
  • VG = Vapor in the room
