The last thing you want to do, IMHO, is buy yet another sub ohm clearomizer that takes only factory coils. You will be in the same place you are now eventually. Unless, of course, you want to try to rebuild the factory coils, many of which cannot be taken apart easily or at all. This also means you will have to save & clean all your burnt-out factory coils. There's nothing wrong with this, but a factory coil is usually much harder to recoil and wick (if it even can be) than an RTA or an RBA section.

I am not sure why people are suggesting the Zenith tank, which everything I have heard says it's a tight draw, and OP said specifically they want an open draw. Also OP is in the USA and may not even be able to buy replacement heads for it come next year (depending on regulations). Doesn't sound like a good fit to me.

There is a new Zenith coming out (SURPRISE! lol). It's the Zenith Pro and is suitable for DL vaping and also holds more juice.heck it may even be out already, I just found out about it today.

But there again, it's just another clearomizer for which parts will become non-existent probably within 2-3 years max, but possibly even sooner. Plus your point about the coming vapocalypse is something people even in the USA seem to forget. It's a big deal and something that needs to be taken into consideration if you're a US vaper.

I hope, @Katcandoo, that you head @ScottP's warning and act accordingly. essentially, you do have time to catch up. You have to find gear that has longevity built-in, buy as much of it as you can, including spare parts, and maintain, not catch up.

The FDA wants you to go back to smoking cigarettes to "save the children".

You are also going to end up paying out the nose for some crappy "tobacco flavored" ejuice, so there is another pressure you have to take into consideration. You may want to consider stockpiling nicotine base and start DIYing.

Unless, of course you are willing to quit vaping and smoking. that's certainly an option I would never argue with.

I like RTAs I am not the most proficient builder of all time, but I have several RTAs I get along well enough with to KNOW I can bring them out with me and thye surf in my purse and don't leak at all. If building is time consuming, I suggest rayon as a wick. I LOVE rayon. It lasts longer than cotton and withstands more heat without burning. It's also way easier for me to use. Rayon stopped most leaking cold turkey. It's great stuff.

As far as the Nautilus coils, I have a few drop in tanks I am not willng to give up. One is the Zenith (which can be QUITE airy) and the other are my two Kabukis that take N2 coils.

So, I stocked up for life. The thing is, I have so many things in rotation, it was easy enough. I bought 3 "cloned" N2 coils from Fasttech to test out. I have lots of real coils ,but I finished up with those.

It is extremely easy to rewick the Joytech CLR coils and they might be right in your wheelhouse.

But if you are in this for the long haul, finding a few rebuildables you like, that are tanks, not drippers, and stocking up on coils cheaply during sales and/or from Chinese sites are the way to go, honestly. I don't actually TRY any new tanks anymore, I know what I like, and I have plenty of coils (the Zenith is also one.)

Good luck,

Anna

ETA: I might suggest the doggy style (really only available as a clone, from fasttech.) I don't know which is the airiest but it is an easy build, a fantastic tank, and it can get qutie airy. The Siren V2 is loved or hated (I love it) and you can mostly only find the 24 mm version, but some places have the smaller one on sale. Very airy MTL, very easy build.

Thank you Anna! I dripped for many years and have a box of rayon, and the wire, and all supplies to build my coils. I went back old school today.

My own approach is when I find something I really like I tend to stick with it - which means for me that I buy stocks of the thing while they are still available.
That's my approach. Although atomizers for my mainstay tank are still readily available, I know that won't always be true. So, I've stacked extra tanks, parts, and atomizers enough to last a loooong time...slowly adding to the stack faster than I consume. There's enough that if I notice a developing scarcity, I'll have years to seek out a new favorite, LOL.
I've been vaping for a decade, and quit chasing the latest shiny object years ago after finding a system which 'just worked' for me.

I always laugh maniacally each time when someone uses "small clouds" and "flavor" in the same sentence. So much so, it makes it very difficult for me to not choke on my cloud with laughter. Both simple round wire builds and anything related to mesh will always just taste like scraps of leftovers put in the microwave after everyone else has already left the party so catch up, and catch up with the reality of not just handbuilt, but of handbuilt advanced coils. Or don't, and enjoy the scraps instead.
