Sorry for the delay in response... been hectic, not mention hot down here. First off I appreciate all of the advice, especially mkbilbo and cliffy15. And I think I have chosen one I will start with the Ego-O-CE4 System 1000-mah with 3 juices (Cheery Limeade, Vanilla Coffee, and Menthol) as it includes 2 extra and I will take the advice of cliffd15 and go with probably 16mg nicotine to start along with 70/30 PG/VG. I am thinking choosing a strong flavoring I guess. Oerdered from vape Dude, CuCig(which maybe had the better deal) is out of stock. So I am ordering today and should get it in a few days because they are in Austin, had to pay sales tax though. :(

But I appreciate all of your help, every single one of you. I will get back to you about the progress and an update. Probably start a new thread I suppose. Thanks Again!!

remember Vape Dudes makes their juices to order, thus they require some "steeping" time. make those first tankfuls small just in case they "ain't there" yet.

steeping: remove cap and let sit in dark, cool place for up to 2 weeks.

i always read all the reviews of the juices cuz people will sometimes mention how long it took for each juice. some single flavors steep quicker.

Also, no one mentioned it yet but some juices are known to crack tanks or cause leaking. Anything with citrus flavors and cinnamon flavors are just a couple. There is a thread here on the forum that lists many of the tank cracking juices. I had the cherry limeaid (I didn't like it myself) and it caused one of my tanks to start leaking. I would hate for you to use it and damage one of the two tanks you're getting.
For those type juices you need to buy a Pyrex glass tank such as a Kanger Protank or if that is to big they have Kanger Protank mini. Both are good.

I have to second, third, or fourth the folks suggesting staying clear of cig-a-likes. Cigarettes are the things coming to the front door threatening your marriage and children's health (not to mention your own!). How would you treat anything else that does that?

I went from a Blu throwaway I used to see what vaping was like to a Evod BCC (bottom coil cartomizer) coupled with a plain Evod Battery. That's just what worked for me though, and others here with more experience can give you better info than I could!

One thing I will mention, I did a quick google search for "e cigarette store houston texas" and it seems you do have some local Brick and Mortar stores. I obviously can't vouch for them or anything but I like going to a physical location while I'm starting out.

You're definitely on the right track and have joined the right community for some great support!
Have fun :rickroll:

ps. been dying to use that little dancing dude :)

@Susiejo

Now you tell me about the potential of breaking....

Do they make a tank that fits on to the configuration that I bought?

So the only one I have to worry about is the cherry limeade? The menthol and the vanilla coffee should be ok for right now?

And after explaining what these are my wife seems to be on track with me stopping the smoking habit, but she doesn't know why I would continue to vaporize after with the no nicotine juices. I tried to give her the O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer reference, but I'm not sure if she got that one. Any help to explain would be great as I am out of words. :p

With the eGo style batteries, you have the option of eGo threaded and 510 threaded widgets. It's one reason they've become so popular. Dunno if I posted this before but here's a pic I swiped from The Ocelot (who taught me a great deal):

So the eGo fits tons of stuff. Just look for "510 threaded" or "eGo threaded". There are other standards out there (808 comes to mind and I think there's a 901 but don't quote me). But 510 and eGo are widely supported and you'll have tons of choices available...

The kit you chose is a good one - start with 24mg juice though. Good Luck and remember - happy wife - happy life!

Awe man... now you tell me .... the 16mg won't be good enough? Others have said it should be fine.... as I am not a heavy smoker, only when it is convenient really which is when I am by myself. LOL I guess I can always hit up a B & M in my area to see if they have something stronger perhaps if I need it.

I will have to look at it when I get so I can really know what I am looking at, but i will definitely check into that.

16mg might be enough, but if its not, you'll blow thru the juice pretty fast and/or you might find tobacco a bigger temptation. I was smoking camel menthol lights, and my 15ml juice is perfect for me... But I also didn't smoke a full pack every day. Close, but not quite.

Don't let this forum overwhelm you with all the lingo and abbreviations. The best thing to do is go to a local e cig shop that has good reviews and is helpful. Go to a shop where someone spends time with you to determine what your needs are and that will provide you with liquid that is tailored to your strength and tastes. Being Houston is a large city I would think there's many shops available to you. I'll do a search after i post this for you.

On another note I just came accross this.

It's not button activated and its a simple set up. Looks like you're looking for an inhale activated system under $50. The only prob with this set up is battery life but you not being a chronic smoker it might suit you. Just remember to charge whenever possible and it is pass through (which means you can charge it while using the device) at $37 it leaves some room to buy some juice (which personally I'd find a local retailer IMO)

I was a smoker for 20 years, about a pack a day. My fiance quit by vapung, but he was having issues witb "coils, tanks, leaks, oh my". I knew I would not succeed if it was complicatex, so I got a Halo G6 starter kit for $45. I also bought empty cartos and a sampler pack of juices to try- all for less than $100. Even tho I am struggling w flavors I like from Halo, I have not had a cig since I got my ecig, no shakesor irratability either. I like I can hold and carry it like a cig, helping me stay smoke free for my kids. You can do it!! Good luck!

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I strongly disagree with the "skip the cigalikes" part. OK, the OP had a $50 budget. Why not go to Wal-Mart, pick up two Fin starters (so he has a spare batt), a pack of 5 cartos, and he ends up with enough to satisfy the craving for a week or so (they were strong enough, I forget, maybe 18mg??), for a total of about $45, and then can chill, sit back and read ECF, and decide where to move up to. People just starting out have a strong psychological attachment to that "real" cigarette form factor. Doesn't it make sense to take advantage of something that will help you sail through that initial time while researching/learning what your next option is? If someone presented me with a tank or a clearo back when I first started I would have thought it ridiculous/intimidating and continued to smoke. The cigalikes got me through about two weeks of learning what all the options were, and I was able to move on, and actually enjoy the process of learning and advancing. Just my take, but I really feel the cigalike shouldn't be dismissed for newcomers. It gets you over the first hurdle, and then a whole new world opens up. There's plenty of time for advancement, I just feel that the first priority should be getting off the cigarettes, and maybe it's easier this way.

Wow that little device looks awesome, wish I knew about those when I first started vaping!

You have a lot of responses to your post. I'm trying to get my 5 posts to graduate from newbie so I'll toss in my 2 cents. START! I started ecigs when they first came out several years ago. Bad. They were bad. Did not help my husband and i quit. Yet we tried another brand. Bad. Another brand, better, but still bad. Yet another brand, not too bad. Quit! Yeah! Yet, not satisfied. Did research on this forum and the supplier web site for organic juices. Bought another set up, OMG awesome!

The moral of the story, just start. The fact you are reading this forum and starting now means you are lightyears ahead of me. At some point you have to jump in and try. You can get advice and i could tell you my set up, but in the end it is all subjective and you ahve to try for yourself. It is worth it. It is frustrating and expensive, but i feel i have saved money and health in the end. I failed miserably on items, but i have not smoked an analog since March and that is something that I would not be saying if I were trying to get the perfect set up before starting.

Good luck!
