I suppose I am not regular noob. I bought a Ego T and returned it. Landed on a Silver Bullet, with a Liquinator tank with a stack of CR123a for 6V.

I know that is too hot, concern over smoking carpet with my juice. I think I will like high watts but not 12+ I am getting. I do not think 3.7 volts will cut it.

So I am looking at a VV. I know the Provari is nice but on the other hand I am a contractor too. I like the rugged Bullet.

I do not care about looks, my bullet is orange.

I think I would land in the 8 to 10 watt range but who knows.

PS For good measure what VG range is good for a tank / carto as I look at DIY mixes.... I like chocolates, Caramels and coffee :p

Thanks

You can always make your own attys at 3.5 to 4.5 ohms for 6v vaping... if thats what you into.

I think atty's are good for testing flavors and for at home use. Otherwise, I really love my tank.... and I am lazy so I see tanks in my future.

Having said that, once I know my favorite flavor / juice mix... I might go to making an atty and dripping but I have no clue what Watt I want.

I am just waiting for my Buzz Pro to arrive.. Good battery life, no bunch of clicks to change voltage, rugged tube design, and as I bought used, about 1/2 the price of a Provary with extension cap.

The Infinity Pro has almost identical specs, thinner and taller. and you can get one brand new for about $115 shipped with a charger and pair of batteries.

I understand the Provari is a cadilac, but I will be happy with a midrange unit.

I don't need the on-board readings and such.

I second the Madvapes vv box mod. At $35, it's a good deal.

Use the ohm's law calculator to play with voltage, resistance, and wattage. Just enter the voltage and resistance and hit calculate and it will return wattage. Different resistance in atomizers will give you the vape you want from any voltage.
Ohm's Law Calculator

I'd suggest Boge cartomizers. You can get them in 1.7, 2.0, and 2.5 ohm sizes at around $8 a box of 5. Fill a few up and cap them and all you have to do is screw another one on your PV and continue. You can fill 5 of them in just a few minutes using the condom method.

Another vote for the Madvapes VV Box, which now comes in a version with a built-in voltage display for $8 more. Sweet.

As far as I know, Boge cartos come in two resistances: 2.0 ohms (LR) and 3.0 ohms (SR). Resurrector cartos are 1.7 ohms, made by SmokTech, not Boge. The only 2.5 ohm poly-filled cartos I know of are IKV Gold V2s. (CE2s come in 2.4-2.6 ohm versions, but that's a horse of a different color.)

...if you want wattage in the 8 watt range, try an 18650 in your Bullet with 1.7ohm Smoktech single coil XL cartos...these are available at crystalclearvaping.com(the Resurrectors), hoosierecigsupply.com, madvapes.com and other vendors...works well on my E-Power.............
madjack:2cool:
p.s. you may also wanna consider a 2ohm dual coil carto @ 6v...that should give you around 9w per coil...nice and warm without burning..........mj

I am beginning to come to that conclusion that perhaps I should look at that idea first. Thanks

Good info. I didn't know that there was a version of the Madvapes vv mod with a voltage display. I bought one of the inline modules to go with mine so that I could see what voltage I was using under load and to return to my sweet spot once it was recorded. A built in voltage indicator is a good idea. I have one of the discrete voltmeter IC's from Madvapes that I could incorporate into mine.

Between the regulator board, firing switch, and connector, adding an LED voltage indicator all in the same battery slot of a 3AA box is a tight fit, but numerous mod builders are managing the squeeze---Madvapes, Krimson (he has a white box where the voltage indicator is mounted on the inside and then shines through the case visibly, which is cool; he also has a black 3AA evercool with a front-face cutout, similar to Madvapes). Ken used a 3AA box for a beefier varicool Big Brother with a voltage indicator, but he puts his electronics in the top of the box, with the firing button on the side.

The ability to read atty/carto resistances that both the ProVari and Darwin provide is a very nice feature, but---since I like the ergonomics of 2AA and 3AA box mods (they fit the hand nicely)---that feature alone doesn't sway me to pay so much more for high-tech electronics and perhaps sturdier build (at least in the ProVari). I like owning a whole stable of the much cheaper alternatives.

Let's face it, we came from burning plant materials you can buy on every street corner. I do appreciate the technology, I just don't want to be out of commission if something high tech breaks. I don't want to have to go further than a Shack to get a battery.
