So here is another provari vs thread. I'm an Electrician and need a new tough mod. I am currently carrying around my kicked silver bullet with a 18490 in it and need something more pocket friendly.

If I go with the REO I will be getting a grande and using a kick in it with a A7 Atty. The Provari I would be running a 3 mil j tank. Looking for suggestions because I'm not easy on devices and my silver bullet is tough but its just too big to carry all day long.

Thanks

My PV's always look like they've been through the wars. I dropped one in a paint tray.

The Reo is indestructible. Someone posted that their horse stepped on theirs. I've dropped mine 1,000x. I have a little ding but that's it. You can stick it in the sink to wash it.

I don't think you'll make a bad choice either way. I do happen to love bottom feeders.

I carry a mini Provari for the same reasons, pocket sized and very tough. I've dropped it countless times at work on concrete. Once was a 10' fall, the atty didn't survive but the Provari still looks and works like new. I have one of those plastic battery boxes in my toolbox, it holds 4x 18350's. I also have a charger so when I do a swap I put the dead one on the charger. I use less than 2 batts in an 8 hr shift. I drip in a Pheonix atty on it, with a short SS drip tip. I've got an extension for it if I want to use an 18490 in it, but I like it as short as possible. It's in my shirt pocket all day along with a small bottle of juice.

I've had both Provari & Reo, I've sold the Provari and carry the REO with me everywhere. I've dropped both from my shirt pocket and both survived with small scratches. They're both solid but REO is one piece of aluminum with no electronics or the LED screen that Provari has. I've sold the Provari because of the leaks from the Vivi Nova I was using but with a carto tank it was solid. I'm using a Chalice RBA on the REO and it's solid too. Depends whether you want to run with the carto or RBA imo. I do think my REO is more pocket friendly because it's shorter and wider as a box.

Why drop $200 on something your going to abuse...doesnt make sense

Get a kicked bolt or go vw with the vamo for under $50

It makes a lot of sense when you've dished out enough abuse to your well-built, waranteed Provari or Reo that it would have killed four Vamos. As a nice plus, you also get a mod that works more reliably and accurately as part of the deal.

There are reasons people who depend on their tools don't buy them from the bargain bin at the at Walgreens checkout line.

Why drop $50 on a mod that you know you're going to break? Doesn't make sense.
