I've touched on this before but no matter what juice I try anything over 3.5 - 3.7 volts gives me a burning taste or close to it.
I try regular 510 atty's with some of the older style joye cartos and the newer Visions Clearo's 2.1-2.4.
Just ordered a 2.5-2.9 ohm carto so will see.

What better brand or variation could I try?
Are there better options for clearo's?
Problem is I do not know my sweet spot yet.

Don't like dripping. Have never tried tanks. vaping 70/30 VG based tobacco blends and some DIY.

Considering getting a V.V. MOD like the Provari but not sure if that would help?

Thanks everyone
Charlie

Boge cartomizers and the 1.7ohm single coils are great with the twist. I've also had a good experience recently with the Kanger horizontal coils, although I haven't really had them long enough to know for sure. A lot of people like the clearos, so they must work okay, but I have never been able to completely avoid the burn taste with them.

Are the Boge carto's a 510 type and or better quality than the older joye 510?
Now, 1.7 ohm is good for low voltage vaping but not at 4V right?

The only reason for having a VV PV like your twist (or a Provari) is so that you can turn the power down if you are getting a burned taste.

and to think i always taught it was for more power. then i got the vivi nova and found i can get great hits at lower voltages then 5-6v's:vapor:

Getting "more power" from a PV was easy (stacked batteries), the problem was that it was to much power. VV came about as a means of reducing that power. Booster ckt PV's then came about as an alternative to using two batteries. But, the base idea behind a VV PV has always been to reduce the power to the ideal level from what is the maximum power available. Ideally a VV PV can be adjusted to both higher than you want and lower than what you want.

I always use a clean carto or clearo so it's something else......

    How clean?

Brand new stuff tastes weird. I find that nothing I use really tastes right before a dry burn. At best, it's inconsistent. At worst, they taste burnt.

i would limit the 1.7ohm to no higher then 4.2v's but even there it might give off a little bit of burnt taste.

I use 1.8ohm heads at 4.8V on my twist all the time. It really seems to depend on the specific juice you're using as to where it burns.
