So yeah they decided to open my bag and see what exactly it was that looked like a detonator. The guy didnt say it directly but he laughed when I said "I know it looks like some sort of detonator but it is actully an E-Cig I use to aid me in quitting smoking". Then I showed him how it worked and he thought it was pretty cool and said "dont smoke it on the plane" and sent me on my way. 8-o

You got lucky. The last time I flew I watched TSA detain an 80+ year old woman and do a full pat down...what a criminal.
Gotta be careful of those elderly! who knows what kung fu tricks they have up their sleeves!
I think as of right now we all know since the latest terror scare they are looking much more through anything that would resemble a bomb. Im happy to see they didn't mind it so much when you went through. I've been wanting to hear more post like this since the latest inncident to see how the TSA is looking at PV's.....
I perfectly happy to allow a little bit of extra time in boarding and secutity as long as it applies to everyone and they're doing their jobs.
I know it's a pain sometimes but maybe it'll be worth the trouble.

I saw my granny dump a refrigerator over on grampa once. Strong ol' lady when she'd been drinking.
i will find out, flying Tue and coming back 10 day's later.. bringing my protege, charger batteries and juice.. juice, batteries and charger are staying in checked baggage, taking a small (3ml) bottle of juice through TSA.. I will let everyone know how it goes..

I also had a similar experience with TSA. The guy searching my stuff looked at the Prodigy carefully and then I had to do a demo for him, As long as you keep the liquid in the zip lock baggie with your other liquids you are fine. There is no law against e-cigs YET....hahha...
I flew recently and i didnt have any room left for toiletries after loading up all my e juice. I would never check that stuff in. Much more valueable than toothpaste... TSA has never bothered me other than asking me what something was.
I got checked about 8 months ago. I started having it all disassembled in my bag with batteries out, since i started doing that, i haven't gotten checked once.
I traveled the week following the Detroit scare. Both times I went through security with 3 batteries/cartos assembled in my purse and no one from TSA said a thing. What really did it for me was when TSA pulled me out of the line for the Christmas SNOW GLOBE that I was carrying for my daughter! I had to go back upstairs to the ticket counter and check it through and then re-enter security. I wasn't thinking about all the liquid that is inside of one of those...!
