Looks good Micky :thumb: As long as it vapes, it's a successful mod! I've always been a 'function over fashion' kinda guy anyway.

As for the needle depth... It looks about right to me. I have made a few of these now and I still always think it's sticking out too far when I take off the atty. But I've never had any issues.

I would say as long as it vapes and doesn't leak but, mine doesn't do that either provided you get the bottle tight enough. Given my skills I have to go for function over form I'm afraid. :) I have to confess I'd never have posted those pics, if you hadn't asked for them in your original post. It was my way of saying thank you for the tutorial.

One thing that surprised me is that I thought I'd have to be careful not to flood it but, it's actually pretty hard to flood. About the only time I do is when the battery's getting weak.

Anybody try this with anything other than a 510 yet? I might try it with an 801 connector I have.

I like the performance of the LR 801s and prefer the mouthpiece (tip) to the 510 Cart. Since the tip is being used without the actual cartridge, the long 801 tube could be cut down a little shorter. I like the fat 801. If I do I'll post results.

An 801 might work pretty well with this; it will take a bigger tube though. 801's hold a ton of juice, so you will probably not need to pump nearly as often as with a 510.

801's (IMO) also work much better at 5V, so you might want to use a 3-batt box and either put two batts in series or get a 5V step-up transformer.

Good luck...and post pics.

Whats the best (Cheap) way to cut the 1/16" brass tube? Wire cutters will just make the end pinch.

Hacksaw blade or dremel with cutting wheel.
wheels are cheap...dremel not so much, but there are infinite uses for a dremel, and you can pick one up for under $20.

You could use wire cutters on the end that goes in the bottle, since it doesn't have to be perfectly round. Just leave the 'factory end' clean for the atty side, cut the other end with wire cutters, then 're-round' the cut end with something (like a knife you don't care about, etc).

I'm sort of surprised highping didn't mention this but, in this thread he mentions that brass can break down in the juice. That's why I used a syringe tube. I used a dremel to cut it.

Well, I follwed the instructions and I can't seem to get the juice to feed up to the atty. I can use it if I just direct drip onto the atty. Squeezing the bottle doesn't send it up there I guess! I used the 1/16" brass tubing. When I press the bottle it just bubbles at the bottom of the brass tube. Any ideas on what I did wrong?

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Sounds like the seal around the brass tube and the bottle is off. Squeezing the bottle would just press air out the leak, and releasing it would let air back in, some through the tube and bubbling at the bottom. Pressing the bottle really wouldn't bubble, but after releasing makes sense.

You shouldn't be able to see where the tube meets the cap. That whole area should be sealed with epoxy. Also as stated previously, brass is problematic.

So you are saying his pumping problem is due to the brass?

Not at all. His leak in most likely due to the fact that he didn't seal around the top completely with epoxy putty. He's saying it's bubbling where the tube meets the cap. He shouldn't be able to see that. It should be covered with epoxy putty.

The remark about the brass was intended as a warning that highping posted earlier in the thread.
