haven't tried this yet, but would like to. So if I twist two stands of 28g together, and build a micro coil as I usually would (around .8 ohms) , is the resistance going to be the same as it would if I built the same size/wrap coil with a single strand? Also, how does the twisted kanthal affect the draw on my battery? I want to be safe while doing this.

Yes your resistance will be cut in half; assuming the same wattage, your battery will drain faster.

Be careful, for most 18650's don't play well with very low ohms.. Efest IMR don't have a high C rating, meaning they can only provide a limited amperage - inadequate for such a configuration.

I routinely do what you said, but with 30g Kanthal wire so that the resulting microcoils are still above 1 ohm. And using AW IMR or Samsung 20R batteries.

im currently vaping an rsst with a magneto. i have a stainless steel rope wick sleeved with 3mm hollow ekowool with a 28g twisted kanthal. i did a 2 wrap. (not quite a 2/3 with the way the posts are aligned) its coming in at .45 ohms. great wicking, good flavor, great vapor production. with sub ohm vaping i'd recommend a sony high drain 30amp battery. [link]http://www.sun-vapers.com/buy/sony-us18650vtc3-battery-1600mah/[/link] which is a safer battery, from what ive read. an employee at a smoke shop near me showed me his build once with twisted kanthal, i tried it and never used anything since. if you do end up trying it, i take about 3-4 feet of single wire, fold it in half and put a small screwdriver in the folded end and stick the two ends into my dremel chuck and turn on the dremel, quick and simple. tight twist. if you do, lmk your thoughts on it!
