Two functional questions about my Ego C

Hi All,

I am new to vaping (just over a month) and seem to constantly find new things I need more information on. The two items I seem to be having issues with right now are my atomizer and my well (at least that's what I call it). My atomizers seem to die pretty quickly. I had one last two weeks, then I had one last a week and now I have just had to replace one after 2 days. I must be doing something wrong but I am not quite sure what and the cost to keep getting new atomizers is probably going to get fairly high if I have to replace them every few days. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My second question is about what I call the well. That is to say where I put put my e-liquid. At the suggestion of my fine and friendly retailer I have gotten little blue caps to replace the standard ones that come with the well. As I happily vape away, I seem to find the area by my lips filling with liquid despite blocking plastic between the area where the liquid sits and the end of the mouth piece. Is there anything I can do about this or is this a common issue?

Any thoughts on these to issues or related maintenance would be deeply appreciated.

Problem #1 - Are you buying your attys from a reputable dealer? What resistance are they? Sometimes that's just how it goes with attys. Some might last months, some might die days later.

I usually buy my attys from Liberty-Flights, and I've had almost no issues.

Problem #2 - I guess what you're saying is that you're getting juice in your mouth, no? If this is the case, try unscrewing the atty off of your battery when this happens, and blow it out in a paper towel. Re-drip, and go at it.

Eventually, the atty will start to 'cake' and might require cleaning. I suggest looking up some atty cleaning techniques and practice on an older one to get it down.

I don't know if any of this information helps. Do let me know if you need anything clarified, or, if I misread something.

The atomizers need cleaning from time to time, because the juices going into your tank (well) clog them up. I was told originally to boil my atomizers for 20 minutes in distilled water, and then was directed to this video, which I tried today. It's a pain in the ..... I'll probably continue boiling them, but adding a dry burn (which is also shown in that video).

And then sometimes, the atomizers do just die. Some faster than others. If you've cleaned and it's still not working right, toss them.

As to the area by your lips filling with liquid, make sure as you're drawing on the mouthpiece, that you're not "sucking" it...if you suck, you start blowing back it in, and it will come out.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks to both of you and Levitas, you did address my questions, I am afraid at my early stage of Newbieness (a new word?) I am less than articulate with what I mean to say I am afraid.

'sall good ;) No need for formal tecnical lingo 'round here.

If you don't like spending too much for attys, you can always try cartomizers out. They require more juice to keep the filler moist and don't usually last as long as an atty, but, they're more expendable.

Other options include, but aren't limited to, rebuildable attys, rebuildable ce2 type tanks, CE-type cartos, as well as more types of attys. The variety is vast, the questions will be flowing. Try looking around the forum sub categories for information on various products, if such interests you.

ego-c and ego-t's flood when the wick is pushed too far down the spike. if you get dry hits, it needs to be pushed down more inside the spike that goes into the tank.

I also started with ego-t (ego-c are the same) and I defended them to the death as I was lucky and received 4 great attys setup perfectly. I then wanted some new ones and ordered 2 from a known dealer ... They did nothing but flood. and dry hits. I then understood why so many people hated ego-t's lol.

I then tried all other cartos, tanks etc within my price range and none of them tasted as good as my ego-t. I then found the vivi nova ... and it was love at first hit :) same great taste as my ego-t, and it gave more vapor etc.
Vision Vivi Nova, Part 1 (Unpackaging & First Impressions) - YouTube -- Theres a nice enough gentlemen to explain the vivi nova ... After watching it you should be comfy with it.
eGo-t wick adjustment - YouTube -- Theres a nice lady explaining how the wick on ego-t works .. When it works :)

Good luck to you ... Ego-t's are a little unforgiving, and kinda tough for a new person. The juice creeping into your mouth is a bad deal lol ... I remember that ugh.

Hi Mark.
I also have an ego c. I agree with you. Your atty head should be lasting longer. It sounds like they may be burning out because they may not be getting enough liquid?? I am just guessing. I find that before I use any new atomizer, I move the wick down slightly in the post with a pin..a VERY little bit..so they wick a bit faster. The vapor seems to have a bit "cleaner" flavor. Are you "pre-punching" the clear tank cap and removing the plastic left behind?. I have never burnt one out yet..only replacing when the wick yets too nasty. It may be the supplier..I have noticed some VERY cheap looking non-branded replacement heads on line.

BTW I received knock off ego-t's from a well known vendor also ... And if they werent knock offs they were made very rough.

things to try:
-pull tank out, and jam it in 2-3 fast if your getting dry hits.
-if it floods, clean out the port holes on the side of the tank, then dry burn/take hits without tank in to dry it up.

If you push the wick too far down the spike, or punch a hole all the way through with a push pen or so it will flood non stop. Its a small, sweet spot that it will work right, and only that sweet spot lol.

My local friendly and informative retailer ran out a few days ago but was kind enough to put me on the list so I should have it this weekend. In the meantime one of the problems I apparently had and didn't see (literally) was that there was a slight separation in the metal where the atomizer casing and the battery casing meet. Fortunately the guys at the retailer did see it and fixed it, that seems to have helped quite a bit. This seems to be a hobby/obsession where you have to learn quite a bit more than you anticipated and a lot of those lessons seem to be learned the hard way. :2cool:

Just a quick update.. i have been completely converted to Mini Novas and can't even remember where my old tanks are. I am waiting on a couple of stardusts to come in so that I can compare the novas with the stardusts but suspect that I will find the novas are my love and the stardusts are nice economical add ons for use on the run.

Just a quick follow up - I am now a devoted Mini Nova follower with multiple mini novas laying around... i just love them. I am waiting for a few stardusts to come in the mail to try them as the expendable younger stepchildren of the Nova for those times when I might lose a Nova like travel or experimenting with a new juice that might kill/taint a Nova head.

Media and Spider, I got myself a bunch of Stardusts as well but for some reason I seem to get more dry hits on them and i never get that with my Mini Novas, still I like their colors on my Egos so I still use them sometimes. I seem to go with only pouring about .7 to 1.0 ml of juice in regardless of the clearomizer's capabilities so really the Stardust should be the better one for me but the Minis just seem to work better in the end for me.

Spider, you can get a small sleeve to go between the Mini and the Ego, personally I like the look it has without it but that sleeve is available.

Pericat, I am going with 2.4 OHM heads (I have some 1.8's around but I seem to prefer the 2.4) and on my Ego Twists I typically an running them at about 3.8 to 4.0, of course this depends on the E juice to some degree.
