If your doing sub-ohm with the Kanger .5 ohm..... you should be using a 80vg 20pg mix and You should not really go over a 6mg strength,,, I use 3mg and that is plenty of nic..... remember you are getting 5 to 6 times the vapor...... it makes your 3mg hit you like 18mgHello Everyone,
I tried to figure the best area to post this question & hope I chose well.
Well years ago my wife & I quit smoking with Ego battery's and those 1st generation atomizers "totallywicked tornado's" (2011)
Well we both started back after 4-6 months .
Fast forward to now, I noticed the vapeing gear has improved & I
want to try and quit cigarettes again.
Okay here's the crazy question,
I bought an i-stick & a kanger sub tank mini, in hopes to avoid the issues I had long ago only to figure out you just have to work on vape-gear...lol
Finally I've gotten this Kanger sub tank to wick properly & not get dry hits.
Here's where I need help.
I'm not interested in clouding down a room, I just want to quit this 2-3 pk a day cigarette habit.
Can anyone suggest a method to use my device & not look like I'm a human fog machine?
Long ago I used 24-36 mg eliquid but our ego device's where no where as efficient in nicotine delivery.
I can't seem to find a happy medium between getting plenty of nicotine without fogging up a room with this new 'era' of sub ohm devices.
I've been using 18mg e-liquid, but what I'm guessing is the efficiency of sub ohm tanks produce so much vapor that I cough at the end of every exhale.
My thinking is I'm doing this one cough on every exhale from the amount of vapor I'm drawing into my lungs.
I went to a local Vape shop & asked the owner about this issue and he seems to think this us because of the nicotine strength, thing is I know what it feels like to get to much nicotine, this isn't the case for me as I'm not satisfied nicotine wise using the 18mg, and can't seem to quit this "cough on the exhale" issue.
It doesn't make sence to me to use extremely low nicotine e-liquid and constantly Vape non stop while still craving nicotine/ cigarettes.
Any ideas? Please I'd greatly appreciate the help & suggestions.
I can wrap coils & all that I just can't seem to get a happy medium & am unable to figure out what seems to be a simple issue, with this 'one cough in every exhale
I also can't mouth to lung inhale without coughing.
Thanks for the help
So I tried this Atlantis tanks & wow what a difference between the 2.
After rebuilding a old coil section & just wanted to try it the lil coil I wrapped was
.7 ohm, it's has a MUCH lighter hit that the Kanger tank, I mean it's like half as efficient, amazingly.
So I won't need to buy anything, just keep a spare coil prepaired for the Atlantis, it's a weaker vapor producing tank, for whatever reason.
So I could chain Vape 18mg eliquid in it with ease ...here's hoping it'll slow me to kick smoking.
Thanks again everyone
Hellodon't know if this helps any... my wife tries my subtank mini from time to time and even with the 1.2 coils finds it a bit rough and the crackle and pop freaks her out. She found the provari 2.5 at 4 volts with the nautilus 1.8 ohm coils to be a lot easier to handle.
I have a couple of the kayfun lites now and like them also, definitley not going to fog up the room on around 1.5 ohms
I do like my subtank mini with the 1.2 but it is a powerful wee beast.
Good luck and all the best!
Yaknow maybe its just me & I'm new to the newer generation Vape gear.
It's just that some of the younger guys I see inside stores are fogging down isles at local grocery stores & malls.
I suppose this is just me but it's gonna be fairly easy to ban vaping if some of these newer young vapers don't get a lil better with manners/ tact.
This was my basis for mentioning the fog machine effect, I want to be certain I could alter the device/ coil resistance to lower the vapor production, but still enjoy the nicotine.
The Atlantis is surprisingly weaker than the sub tank, I get a few eliquids in the mail today & hope I enjoy them, thank you everyone for the help.
I agree, it's really younger people , the kind that didn't quit smoking to Vape.I believe we all should be responsible vapors and fogging out a grocery store aisle isnt my definition of being responsible. With all the negative publicity on vaping from the haters, irresponsible vaping doesnt do our community any favors.
Glad you found something that works for you Tattooer and in a few months or so you should be able to start using the subtank mini you have.
Higher nic does add bite to a flavored liquid, I'll be making my own by next week. You'll know you've got it right when you forget to smoke. I suppose I had the "good fortune" to start vaping when the products available were a lot less capable. So there was never much risk with starting out with too much. That said, it took several months to figure out the best way to get a satisfying vape, and at least that long to find a flavor that really hit the spot to make me forget about going for a Camel filter.
I smoked those for 30 yrs. Back to the less capable vape gear, it took 36mg nic to get me to where I didn't need to smoke. Now, with better gear, I get the same satisfaction with 26mg. My vaping is a smoking substitute, not a hobby. So I really chase after low maintenance, not showy clouds or bling bling gear. I change my battery and fill my RBA tank once a day. I probably have to re-wick it 3 or 4 times a year, and maybe wind a new coil once a year, if that.
My own sweet spot is 50/50 26mg in a KFL+ at about 7-8W. I'm sensitive to the harshness and chemical taste of PG and just can't use anything more than 70% PG. Higher nic puts more "bite" in the vapor, but not near as much as high PG content IMO. 50/50 still gets me a good flavor and a tasty vape, while still wicking well enough not to be a problem.
Kayfun Lite Plus. I bought it two years ago, I think they're up to a v4 model now. It's been out long enough that really good quality clones are plentiful. At the time I bought mine, that wasn't the case. Lots of clones had come out, but also a lot of mostly minor issues being reported. I run a trucking business and also drive. Fiddling with vape gear is a bigger problem for me than most others, so I sprang for the tried and proven oem, versus paying about 1/3 for a clone.By the way what's KFL? Kayfun light...I'm guessing here.
Many people brag on the flavor potential of the Kayfun,I'm unsure if this is old bragging or they aren't mentioned because their not the latest greatest piece of braggably gear, any insight? Thanks again
Thanks a ton.Kayfun Lite Plus. I bought it two years ago, I think they're up to a v4 model now. It's been out long enough that really good quality clones are plentiful. As to bragging or not, it depends on whether you are a vape connoisseur or not. I'm not. It's not that I have a lame tongue or something, my tastes are just not that complicated and finicky. I had been using (actually putting up with) a rotation of ViviNova tanks for the longest. When I started looking for something newer/better, I tried out some bottom feed tanks. I concluded that they worked a lot better for flavor and vape quality, but still having to mess with them more than I'd like. I (correctly) guessed that was mainly due to buying cheap, throw-away tank kits. A bit of interest in rebuildables led me to either a KFL or Russian. A local vape shop had the oem Kayfun in stock so I went by to put my hands on it, and ended up buying it right there for about $110.
I've been using this stuff for five years. There really isn't a miracle kit out there, despite the claims. Just variations in size, shape, and window dressing. Once you figure out how to make this stuff go, you can get a satisfying vape dripping into a regular 510 atty attached to an eGo battery. What I like about the rebuildable tank setups are a simple design, ample liquid capacity, and so far dead reliable while requiring nearly zero tinkering. I'll admit that it did take about a dozen coil builds and wick changes to get proficient at it, but that's about it.
High nic does have a peppery taste. I hardly notice it because that's all I've done and for so long. Quality ingredients do make for a "cleaner" taste (IMO), and I've heard the positive reports of that by the DIY bunch. I still use store bought juice as I don't have the time or patience for DIY at the moment. I found a local shop that sells two flavors I really like, and that's all I buy. A $53 order about every 5-6 weeks. What's funny is that I still order on their website and get it in the mail, even though they just opened a new location about 5 minutes away. I've been meaning to go over there and see if they have any new flavors worthy of expanding my vast two flavor selection LOL.
Looking back, you'll be way ahead of the game with your DIY juice order. You'll be able to mix much smaller trials for a fraction of the time and price than I ever did. The year I spent ordering samples and 10ml sizes to try stuff I thought I might like, you can do in way less time right at home. You ought to be able to zero in on something that hits the spot relatively quickly.
You're welcome. When I first got started vaping, I was working from a home office. What made the shift to vaping easier for me was making smoking less convenient. What helped is that I stopped smoking indoors years before.still learning & trying to keep an eye on the cigarette habit and not stress myself for nothing over the cigarettes, I'm smoking less daily as I get better at using the ecig.
