After 35 years of smoking I decided to go with the E cig. I pretty much had my mind made up that I was NOT going to buy my next months worth of cartons and when my ego arrived on 1/21/11 that was the day I smoked my last analog. I still have 3 packs that sit in sight and I have no desire to reach for them.
My son had told me about "vaping" and I thought he was nuts when he told me he was waiting for his French Toast flavor to come in. My thought was, give me the stuff that most resembles the taste of a cigarette. Well, I was wrong! My favs are Chocolate Mint and Vanilla w/ 6mg nic.
I have burnt an atty (if its not burnt....it sure doesn't taste very good...LOL) but I figure its a trial and error thing. I started out with mostly dripping and after the nasty atty I figured I would give the cartomizers a try and I enjoy them.
I ordered my second ego kit (my spare) now that I know I enjoy this much more than the taste of those "yucky" analogs hehehe

hi justkats and welcome to the wonderful experience that is vaping! I've been vaping for a month and a half and in just the past few weeks have I started exploring flavors -- good for you that you had an experienced vapor nearby to share some flavors with :)

I know what you mean about dripping -- I burned a cartomizer and flooded two batteries when I first received my 510 due to my inexperience as a vapor. Now, I have a passthru by my computer and happily drip a few drops and get the best of both worlds, flavor and vapor -

But cartomizers have their place.... prefill some of your cartomizers whenever you are going out and just switch them out whenever you need to without having to mess with refilling -- a lesson I learned here at the forums :)

Congratulations on your quit -- getting off of cigarettes after so many years is a wonderful achievement - it sure is!

Please feel free to add me as a friend and share flavor stories whenever you like :)

Happy Vaping! :)

The best part is, it never has to end.

I never quit smoking before where I wasn't constantly thinking, "OMG, is it going to be this hard for the rest of my life?"

With e-cigs I HOPE it's going to be like this for the rest of my life! Except every couple of months someone invents a new gizmo that's even better than the last one, so I guess it's only going to get better! LOL :)

Congrats to you !
You seem to sit firmly in the vaper seat already. :)

Although I have not cleaned atomizers much (yet), they will need it. Go look in the maintenance section. Depending on the juice you vape, the level of "gunk" will attach to the atomizer and eventually be a burnt residue that will give the unpleasant taste....

It's fantastic with all the long-time smokers that so convincingly switch to vaping in stead.
Good luck to you.
