I had a friend send this to me recently, and I thought it very prolific and introspective....

I simply had to share it -

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.'

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?'

The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.

How profound.

With all of the venom and bile and putrescence that's been spewed around here, lately, I think this is very fitting.

Something we can all take to heart.

That's part of the reason it struck me as powerfully as it did....

I kinda miss the old avatar, Terraphon - just couldn't get enough of the Santa dude..

Very wise words. Thank you for sharing.

Noted and appreciated...It seems some apologies are in order, from opposing fronts....Just seems like alot of very special freindships have been jolted, hopefully not fatal...I think SJ described it as saddening........

Was very glad you said that, I have a natural tendency to over-internalize things but what you spoke of was very hard to watch. I even deleted my shortcut off the desktop a couple of times. Why are there some, not many, people who are always "trolling" for someone to "quote" and then rip their posts down to garbage. As is they alone have all the answers. Sometimes totally out of context. I don't know how or if this sort of thing can be stopped, but that didn't seem to happen when I first joined the Forum. Maybe I just hadn't caught up with the reading then, but it is very disturbing to me. I keep thinking about "who" is watching this, for whatever reason, (the nicotine cops?, for example) or, just a "noobie", what must they think about this culture of mean, and maybe think it would be good to ban nicotine because it causes aggression! Clever differences are acceptable, a healthy thing, but rude attacks of sarcasm are kinda hurtful. And it hurts the very fabric this Forum is supposed to be cut from. Maybe I'm just too old and sensitive. I promised myself from now on to stay away from any Thread political or religious, that will help!
