I had two 1000mAh Twists, an ego mini, and an itaste SVD. I got the Twists in January, one died before summer and the other died a few weeks ago, so I need something new (my husband is possibly taking the mini ego).

I want something either VV/VW or a mech. I like telescoping PVs, but it's not a "must-have." I would prefer something larger than an ego, but something about that size hasn't been ruled out. Price range...let's say $100 or less, I would prefer to keep it under $75. I've looked at the MVP V2 and the itaste VV 3.0, the Vamo, a couple of the Sigelei devices, the newer VV/VW ego, a bunch of other devices I'm forgetting, and so many mechs that my head is spinning.

I've watched reviews, read reviews, searched ECF, etc. and I feel overwhelmed, pretty much for the first time since I started vaping because I went from a cig-alike (which wasn't hard to decide on) to the egos (also an easy choice) to the SVD (tough call between it and a Vamo, but I liked the telescoping of the SVD better). So this is the first time that I'm really just looking for something new as a backup/"just because I want variety & something new" kind of device. I keep going back and forth about the battery thing, because I like being able to change my batteries, but that's not really a deal-breaker for me. And pretty much everything that's caught my eye has had really good reviews.

Any suggestions?

i upgraded from a ego to a mvp2 its amazing! $40 at 101vape.com and another plus is you dont have to buy battery's for it and a charger. mine will last up to 3 days and i have 2 friends that got one when they first came out and there still going strong. Ive also dropped mine pretty good 4 times and its still amazing!!!

I too came off ego twists too recently. I got an EVIC... it's VV/VW, tells you what the coil ohm is and give you a suggestion what to vape it at. (it's wrong btw) It also connects to a computer if u care about the extra BS. However it works really well and has the nicest screen I think on the market today. I paid 64bucks and bought a second as a spare. Good, cheap and reliable. Check 'em out. btw, they are on firmware 1.3 at the moment and I havent had any issues so far.

Under $75? MVPII and a couple of clearomizers - my two favorites so far are the Kanger Protank 2 and the Aspire BDC (It comes in a Pyrex version now).

I bought my Vamo V3 for $34 or so through FastTech, slightly less than the $40 101vape charges for the MVPII. Then throw on $20 for two decent batteries (or more, if you double stack 18350's like I do) and $20-$40 for a good charger.

With a couple of tanks and coils you're already pushing $100, where you'd be around $70 for the MVP, a tank, and a box or two of coils.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Vamo, but in a side-by-side comparison with the Vamo, I'd choose the MVP first.

I have an eVic that has been my workhorse for the last 7 months, and I LOVE IT! The new firmware 1.4 came out a month or so ago, and it is pretty nice, even has (finally) an option to reverse screen colors for changing lighting conditions. Biggest benefit for me is that VW adjusts in .1w increments instead of .5w like all the Innokin products. This lets me fine tune a little better. The one real gripe I have is the aluminum tube makes the eVic FEEL cheap and poorly constructed, however, I have dropped and battered mine pretty well, and it has held up.

In addition to the eVic, I just added an Innokin VTR, Sigelei Legend and soon an MVP 2. I also have 2 iTaste VV v2s (VV) and 2 v3s (VV/VW) they have been my backup for the eVic.

The VTR is ROCK solid, but the first one I got had issues and had to be replaced (early production problems according to Innokin). The new one seems to be better and so far is problem free. Only issue is that it is HEAVY (will double as a self defense club!) but I'm okay with the weight.

The Sigelei Legend (my Shake Weight mod) is AWESOME, not as feature rich as the eVic, BUT very solid performs beautifully. It is heavier than the eVic (steel vs. aluminum tube), but uses the same batteries (18650 or 18350 short tube). The shaking to configure it is a little weird, but otherwise works well. Like the eVic it adjusts in .1w increments for VW mode (the reason I chose it).

I won the MVP in a contest but it hasn't arrived yet, so no opinions on it.

I also looked at the Smoktech SID, but it was REALLY cheaply built and did not have a very good quality feel. The eVic's aluminum battery tube feels much more solid than the SID's tube, that says something! I was considering it anyway, as it was cheap ($50), but the owner of the local B&M actually talked me out of it, he had too many customers that had problems with it.

So I guess what I would say is that if you absolutely have to have .1w adjustments in VW mode, I would recommend the eVic or Legend, but if that is NOT a requirement, and you don't mind a box mod, the VTR seems to be AWESOME so far! If 18650 battery compatibility is not a concern, then the iTaste VV v3s are really cheap and will serve you well with all the features of the VTR at a fraction of the cost.

As always though ... YMMV.

HTH and good luck!

Have you tried the VTR with toppers besides the iClear? I primarily use carto-tanks and RDAs (not a fan of clearos, I've had really bad luck with them), so that was the only thing that really bugged me about the VTR. That, and it's a bit out of my ideal price range right now, but I love the way it looks and I'm seriously considering getting it after the holidays when I have more money to throw around for vaping :p

I actually considered the evic when I was looking at VV/VW devices earlier this year, but I wasn't sure how I felt about the firmware and stuff. That seemed like a little over-kill to me, but I haven't looked into them very much since then. The last thing I heard was when they were still really new and several people were having issues with them.

I work in a kitchen and I've always got my mvp 2 with me. So far so good, even got some utensil cleaner on it with enzyme activator by accident. Still good though.

I also recommend the MVP2. It really can't be beat for the money. The battery life is supposed to be amazing as well!

I ordered an MVP 2. I hadn't really checked out 101Vapes, but at that price, I couldn't pass it up. I couldn't quite afford the VTR, I decided I wanted something that wasn't a tube, and the MVP has a longer battery than the VV.

Thanks everyone!

I'm not a heavy vaper, but when I use my MVP as my all-day device (which I have quite a bit recently until getting my Provari) I was charging it every other day, even though it didn't need it. :2c:

I think you'll be happy with 101vapes, I've only ordered twice from them myself, but there's a thread started about them and it's very positive.

I also think you'll be pleased with the MVP. :)

So far I'm happy with 101. Prices are great and my package has already shipped. I wasn't expecting it to ship until Monday. I think I'll like the MVP. I love my SVD, but I wanted something a little different and I've had my eye on the MVP since before they announced the 2.0 version.

You won't be disappointed! You might want to play around with different toppers, all of them seem to react differently on a MVP2 than what you may be used to.

The toppers perform differently on the MVP? I've only had one VV/VW device (my SVD), so I don't know a lot about them. I kind of assumed that everything would work basically the same way, maybe with minor changes. I'm mostly an RDA and sometimes carto-tank vaper. I've had terrible luck with clearos, but I do want to try out the Protank, or maybe one of the other newer Kanger clearos, or some other BCC.

I have several Vision Spinner 1300 mah batteries. They are essentially the same thing as the ego Twist system, but a little bigger around and a bit more battery power. I vape heavy and constantly have to have something on the charger, but I have four batteries and I just rotate through them. I'm pretty happy with them. I'm using them with a Kanger Protank II and I think 1.5 ohm atomizers. They may be 1.8, I don't remember. The Spinner 1300's run about $25 each.

Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh

If you don't mind the size and want "the best", I'd go with the provari, but if you want something a bit more of a reasonable size and price, these work great.

I've owned a number of devices, from basic ego's, a buzz pro, lavatubes, madvapes VV box mod, etc. The Vision Spinners are my favorites. I don't like it when the things get too big, and I take my stuff out to bars (dancing in honky-tonks) and I leave my PV on the table when I'm out dancing. Having something as expensive as the Provari sitting on the table would make me nervous, and I can't see any point in having one just for "when I'm at home".

OH
you should try a sigelei zmax telescopic flat-top (either v3 or v5)..... why???

here's why:
it's telescopic/it's small (under 4in in 18350)/pretty accurate/vv and vw/well built/VERY cool looking/ and it almost dethroned the provari as p.busardos favorite device.
VIDEO PROOF from 28:30 to 29:35
A PBusardo Review - Sigelei Z-Max - YouTube
***keep in mind he said this about the v1 when it was more expensive, and he likes the v3 flat-top even more***

it is better than the VAMO because:
it's telescopic, it's better build quality, it's a little smaller, AND it looks better.

it's better than the MVP because:
it goes up to 6v, and you can take the batteries out....means you only have to buy new batteries when they go bad, not a whole new device. IF you charge the mvp everyday, it will only last you about a year.
i also don't like the mvp because if you are on your way out of the house, THEN you notice your battery is low. well, you better have a backup device, because you can't use the mvp now. it's nice to be able to just throw in a new battery.
AND if you get a V5 zmax, you can charge your phone just like with the mvp.

it's better than the svd because:
it's smaller and looks better.....other than that, they preform about the same.

it's better than the evic because:
it goes over 5 volts, and it's more accurate.

it's also under $100 like you asked..... only $40-60 bucks depending on where you go .
