I can't believe it. I have yet another problem.

So far, I choked on the vape, killed two batteries and one atomizer, flooded four different atomizers umpteen times, melted uncounted carts, broke two chargers, destroyed endless Pyramid Tea Bags trying to get a longer-lasting cart filling (with only marginal success), rubbed my hands raws from washing them every two seconds, leaked a pool of nic-liq into my favorite eyeglass holder, used up 15 (!!!) paper tower rolls, mostly *increased* my analog consumption from stress from all these activities, and, last but not least, completely freaked out my dog by using language my well-brought-up German Shepherd is simply not accustomed to hearing - not to mention my 70 yo Mother. All of this in just about a week! Is this normal? Or am I a freak of some kind? 8-o (OK, don't answer that last one... :D )

(Oh, and I almost forgot: I also dried out my mouth, nose, throat and eyes to the point of pain - but at least those symptoms went away with increased water consumption and a few eye drops...)

I was finally able to vape more or less normally for three days straight. Was down to maybe five or so analogs a day yesterday, and now this.

My mouth is burnt. Right on the inside of my lips, and the tip of my tongue.

I did get a little liquid in my mouth, but not much, maybe a couple of times yesterday, and once today. I drew in too hard, forgetting that it was not an analog in my mouth. I wiped it and rinsed it. I thought it'd be no big deal, it doesn't seem to bother anyone else... Heck, some people are licking it off, apparently!

Is this an allergy symptom that anyone knows of? Another newby malfunction that will pass, like my initial choking? Do you think it's just the liquid? Ye Gods, I hope it's not the actual vape...

I'm just soooo tired of endless problems with this, I can't even tell you. I so badly want for this to work and to enjoy it like everyone else. Ugh. I'm whining. Sorry. I'm just really stressed at this point. And out of analogs, to boot. And afraid to vape. (need nic. need nic now. need nic NOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW)

Someone help!?. :(

I doubt it's an allergic reaction. I've noticed that if I vape a lot, my mouth will sometimes get raw. With particularly flavorful liquids, I have a tendency to vape so that the vape goes over the tip of my tongue, which concentrates the flavors . . . and sometimes results in a bit of a "burn" if I overdo it.

It sounds as if vaping is pretty stressful for you. Frankly, I wouldn't be worrying about cart modifications and the like at this point . . . gotta walk before you run. Just get used to using your PV the "normal" way at this point, then start having fun with modifications and such after you've achieved a comfort level.

It sounds as if another potential stressor in this situation is your desire to quit analogs. While some folks manage to quit almost effortlessly, for others, it's a tougher road. I think at this point I'd be focusing more on enjoying my vaping rather than quitting analogs. For most of us, the reduction/elimination of tobacco comes quite naturally . . . sometimes in a few days . . . sometimes in a few weeks . . . sometimes in a few months.

My personal opinion is that you'll probably have greater success down the road if you simply figure out how to enjoy vaping on its own terms, without worrying about drastically cutting back on analogs. If you get to the point where you enjoy vaping, the tobacco reduction will come naturally as you start instinctively reaching for your PV as opposed to the cancer sticks. :)

And for heaven's sake . . . unless you're very sensitive to nicotine, stop washing your hands so often. ;)

Oh, ok. Maybe that's what's happening. I'm a "frantic" smoker, and I've been vaping three 510s at the same time so that I could puff rapidly without burning out the atomizers... Ummm... Maybe I shouldn't be doing that...

Yeah, I sort of sheepishly came to the same conclusion in the last couple of days... That's when things stopped breaking. Good advice, this. :)

Yes, you are right again, I'm sure. I'll try to keep this mind.

OK. And I'm sure if I calm down, my dog will stop running around in circles and acting like nutcase. (not a pretty picture, that, I almost fell over her three times today) :)

And for heaven's sake . . . unless you're very sensitive to nicotine, stop washing your hands so often. ;)

That too. I'm running out of hand cream. 18 mg nic juice is not *that* poisonous! :D

Thanks again. Your reply was a good influence. I sucked on my 510 some (just one at a time, slow, and lips didn't get worse), got my nic fix, relaxed - maybe things are looking up, eh? :)

Have a good one,
Briar.

Vape a few draws and let it rest. I was about to ask what device you are using but I see its the 510 WOW!!!.... Maybe 18 is not strong enuff for you if you are vaping like that. I started 18 and temporarily moved to 24 when I was still craving an analog every morning that seemed to do the trick. Now back to 18 but cutting that.

Remember, the nic in a PV is delivered a little differently and you don't get that instant nic rush you're used to with analogs so patience. I started wtih some long vape sessions now two to five pulls at a time is enough to let me put it down.

Best of luck

Briar--See, you already seem a bit calmer. :) As for your dog, yeah, I really do think they sense our moods and act accordingly.

When I first started vaping, I vaped a lot . . . well, to be truthful, almost non-stop. Part of it was because it was new, but part of it was a desire to avoid the analogs . . . if I'm vaping, I'm not smoking. ;) And, of course, I was trying to get my nicotine levels up.

But, as DaBrat noted, vaping isn't the same as smoking, and the nicotine isn't delivered in one big blast . . . it's more a consistent, lower level delivery.

When I first started vaping, I did so with a very high nicotine concentration, figuring that as a heavy smoker (2+ packs a day for 30 years), that would be the right level. However, because I vaped so heavily, I wound up getting a serious headache, nausea, and some bowel issues. (Yeah, too much information.) I stepped back to a lower level concentration, and that definitely helped . . . and when I felt the craving for an analog, I would simply spike my cartridge with a few drops of the very high nicotine concentration. It really helped to chase the cravings away.

So while you may not want to vape at a very high nicotine concentration consistently, you may find yourself doing well with your current level with an occasional spike of the hard stuff from time to time.

If you've put up with the problems you've had so far, I have no doubt that you'll be successful with your vaping. There are an awful lot of people who would have given up in disgust, but the fact that you're hanging in there means that you're very serious about reducing or eliminating your tobacco dependence, and that's half the battle right there.

Since you are kinda chain vaping three 510's, I think you would reduce your frustration level if you had a more powerful device. Not that I am trying to get you to spend more money, but for those of us who vape a lot and want less hassles, most have moved up to the stronger devices. I would suggest a 5 or 6 volt device, either the Prodigy or the GG. I know with the Prodigy you can use your 510 atomizers. It provides great throat hit, vapor and long battery life. They basically pay for themselves due to the $2 battery cost. Just a thought:

Prodigy: PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!
GG: SmokeJuice - HOME

Guys, thanks so much for the support - I really appreciate it. I was kinda freaking last night. :) I will definitely take everything said under consideration and try my best to follow good advice.

I went back to analogs for a day - didn't really help my lips any. <sigh> The inside of my mouth is better, but I think the lips are going to actually peel, like a sunburn. 8-o I guess with lots of chapstick and less vaping and smoking it'll heal.

But it makes me wonder if I'm too sensitive to nic, or what... Maybe I should be seriously thinking about going 0-nic as soon as I can. Oh, well. Patience.

As for a higher-power device... To be honest, it's not spending the money on it that bothers me, it's the high temp. I'd be happier with a lower-temp device, not higher. I'm even thinking of trying out a different PV. I don't care so much for the throat hit or the amount of vapor - just being able to taste something nice and chain-vape without evil consequences! :D I don't even "pre-heat" my 510, just to insure as low a temp as possible. Less irritation in the airways that way. I'm asthmatic, you see.

I'm even dreaming of making up herbal juices that are good for you - like mullein, for instance, or valerian (though I don't know about valerian, it's very good for calming nerves, but the taste and smell of it is not for the weak of nerve...)

Cheers
Briar the Lip.
