Ugh, thought I knew, but now I'm not sure (help with 808 cartos and... other stuff)

So, I've been vaping exclusively (no more analogs) for about 7 weeks now with my Sidesho, decided to upgrade to an Ego style PV, then decided to skip that and go to VV. I ended up deciding on the Infinity Pro. I'm still dead set on that, but I'm not sure about the threading...

After many helpful suggestions throughout the forum, I decided to get my Infinity with the 808 threading (people say it's more durable and 808 cartos vape better, etc.). But now I just saw a post somewhere that said using 808 cartos on any PV above 3.7V will cause a burning taste.

So now I'm just thinking "screw it" and get the 510 threading on my Infinity. Or I could get the 808 threading and use a 510 adapter for cartos...

Basically, I thought I had it figured out, but now I'm back to banging my head against the wall. :sigh:

Can anyone out there help me out?

Also, it seems like there aren't as many options for 808 equipment as there are for 510. For example, I wanna try out the Fluxomizers from GotVapes, and I like how the green looks, but they don't offer the green with the 808 threading, or in the 3.0ohm and up range. Is this the norm pretty much everywhere? 510 is the standard? Or does it just seem that way?

Sorry for the million questions, I just wanna get this purchase right and I'm tired of all the headaches trying to figure everything out.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Dave

Well it's good to know I'm not the only one! :)

I was thinking of getting the 510, but everyone told me that a 808 connection is more rugged/durable, and that 808 cartos are where it's at. But now I hear somewhere else that 808 on mods is no good, so it's back to square one. Hopefully some experts will chime in... especially since the clock is ticking, if the Infinity Pro is indeed released on the 15th as planned.

One thing I can tell you, is that with a VV mod like the Infinity, you wanna stick to attys/cartos that are 3ohms and up. Low ohm cartos aren't necessary when you can adjust the voltage. If you want that "vape explosion," you just gotta crank the dial up.

510 is the most popular and has the most options. 808 seems to be gaining steam as a standard now that there are more big battery mods for them. All those eGo users out there are using 510 threading with cartos. No shortage of 510 threading inventions, that's for sure. Not many 808 atomizers and adapters work but who needs one more part to clean.

The best advice that I can give you from a VV user is to get a 510. Trust me when I tell you this, you will be happier if you get a 510 connection. You can use adapters to use 808, 801, and 901's if you really want to.

This will allow you a world of options to try and choose what you want. As you may have seen. Almost everything on the market is 510 based with VERY few that stray from that area.

Fluxomizers have been getting some pretty solid reviews and if you get one that is 2.5 ohms and over than it will be perfect for your infiniti. Since I'm assuming that the limit is 5.5V like the Buzz Pro.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Washvap! You've always been a great help to me (feels like I've been on this forum for years, lol). How are the adapters from GoodProphets? I was possibly gonna order some stuff from there tonight anyway... Then again, I was also planning on ordering some juices from Madvapes, so maybe I should just get one from there...

No problem, I'm glad I could help out. Actually haven't used an adapter from Good Prophets yet so, I can't comment on how good those adapters work.

Anyways, it's probably best to get the adapters from Madvapes if you were planning on getting some juice from them. Makes it a lot easier and you don't have to wait for two separate packages to arrive.

Thanks! Def going with the Infinity and sticking to 510's.

That definitely makes sense. I'll go with the one from Madvapes. Thanks again!

Ipetbumblebees sir old school, dual coil, and ce2 kr808 cartos have no issues with 5v and above, the newer horizontal coil ones are where you'll run into issues going above 3.7v...

Ahhh... so that's what they were talking about. Thanks for straightening that out for me!

If you get the buzz, you can get both a 510 top and a 901/808 top. Then you can convert the device rather than adapt. That's what I did.

I would get the Buzz, but I'm already going a tad bit over my $70 budget with the Infinity  Plus I like the slimness of it.

Also, aren't the tops on the Infinity Pro going to be detachable? I thought I read that...

Good call, Morgythekilla! I started with 808s when I started vaping. I still like some juices better in the 808 cartos, and I still have some 808 batts that I haven't killed after 2 years (!), but I prefer using my eGo-T batts with 510 threading. There are still many more options (cartos, attys, adapters, etc.) for the 510 than there are for the 808. I have adapters for 510->808 and 808->510, and after experimenting, I use the 808 cartos on the 510 threads sometimes, and the Wow! cartos from V4L and have a great vape experience; however, the 510 LR cartos on the 808 threads just doesn't produce the same vape. That's definitely just my opinion, but thought you might like some more info from someone who uses both types of PVs. :)

Thanks! I'm the type who likes to absorb all the info I can find, so I'll take all I can get. It definitely seems like 510 is still the way to go. Maybe in the future, 808 will be where it's at, but for now, I'll stick with the 510. I'm just antsy right now to get a VV PV. It's all I can think about... :D
