For glass vessels that work well in an UC…… I`ve had the best performance using these Erlenmeyer Flasks in 50 and 100 ml sizes….

Erlenmeyer Flask Bomex Glass - 50ml

the shape of the flask helps to prevent tip-over ....I use them even for small 5ml batches

I use mine (and old fashioned cheapie version with only a 3 min cycle) with plastic and have had no bad results... But I do check the water temp frequently and change it about half way through the 10-12 cycle run I've found as being sufficient steeping for most juices... tobacco juices I will run longer - at least another half-dozen cycles with another water change at the beginning of the 3rd cycle...

I only had one problem with it early on when I went with an 'if a little is good, more will be better' mindset and ran the cleaner continuously with no water changes for, like, 2 hours... Didn't notice any plasticy flavor, but the heat must have burned off most of the nic and the vast majority of the flavor because there was almost no throat-hit and the taste was almost watery...

Here is the thing.......
There are many different power levels of units and even more opinions on plastic versus glass and max. alowable temp. length of time at such max. temprature , how effecient the Ultrasonic Cleaner mixing action is etc..

The one I use

Ultrhttp://www.amazon.com/dp/B008ET4PPU/ref=pe_385040_30332210_pe_334560_28252370_3p_dp_1

if filled with 60F tap water and ran without the heating element turned on will raise the temp. to 125F in just under 90 minutes in a 70F room.

Many stae that the us waves cause the temperature increase however I believe it is the us units themselfs transfering heat to the tank. I need to do some research on this but over 30 years ago I worked wityh some commerical US transducers and I remember they would over heat very quickly if operated without a load as in free air.

Miscreant, Do you put a stopper in the top when you do it?

I don`t............I`m new to all this, but I`ve read that leaving the top off (for a day or so) can be beneficial

my UC has 8min cycles and I run 24 cycles for my juices....If I put a few juices in the morning,by the time I remember to hit the re-start 23 more times on the machine, pretty much a full day has passed

after that I put the juices up in amber glass with caps

Good enough example to consider your purchase carefully and do some research before buying a UC. I recommend a uc that has a 30 minute or longer timer. Heat is optional as a decent unit does a good job of maintaining temperature on it's own without using a heat cycle.
