Just wondering if anyone has had this experience...I have now tried three different Unflavored Nic Juices from three different companies. I seem to be getting a different result, taste wise, from all three? I am using the exact same recipes for all. Is this normal? I did not think there would be much of a difference in the taste of Unflavored Nic juice from one company to the next? Just curious if anyone else has found this to be the case? Thanks!

Unflavoured liquid should have no taste to a mild peppery taste, when vaped by itself. The liquid should have but a slight yellow tinge and I mean slight to no tinge at all, and a non detectable smell e.g once again very faint. Send Kurt a pm with your observations and concerns.

When I receive a new batch of liquid, I test it for smell and taste, dilluted of course with the appropriate amount of PG.

Rachel is right wrt is it mixed with VG or a % of VG, as not all VGs are created equal, and hence why I order mine straight PG and add VG myself.

Ok, now we might be getting somewhere. I always get my PG and VG for DIY from HV. I really don't think they are the problem, as I have used them both many times before with no problems. The first two unflavoured nic juices I bought were basically clear, with a slight tinge like you said. The last batch of unflavoured I bought is almost rust colored. I did think this was odd upon receiving it but I just shrugged it off, I guess because I didn't know any better. While there is no bad taste when vaping it without flavoring (mixed with PG and VG), it does have a very dark coloring to it. Do you think this could be the problem?
Also...I don't know who "Kurt" is?

I always order flavourless PG with nicotine (28mg strength) in 30mL bottles from Evapers, BBB. And plain PG/plain VG from Happy Vaper. Evapers has delivered a remarkably consistent & really good flavourless PG with nic to me, and they're as speedy with the shipping as Jack is. So yeah, I recommend them. It's a bit difficult to find on their site the way it's set up, here's the link:

evapers.com/tryout/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=77

Just choose Flavourless in the fields, and the strength you'd like. 28mg is their highest.

But yeah....rust coloured? That is not normal. I'd advise getting rid of that asap. Switched is right - the clearer it is, the fresher it is. If it has a slightly yellowish tint to it, that's ok - just means it's had a bit of oxidization. Even the clearest bottle will turn to that light tint naturally, over the course of your using it. But rust coloured...at best, it's old & poor & not going to vape particularly well. At worst...I'm not sure  but best to get some fresh stuff asap.

If it smells right and has not taste, it may very well be fine. It looks to me like this was exposed to UV light. When I mix my liquids I allow them to sit on my desk for a week and they take a on an amber colour. This is when they get stored in a dark place for future use. It mells things together and mellows out the harshness of some flavour combos.

The color changes over time. The age of the juice (when the nic was mixed with the PG) and the purity of the nic will determine the color. The smell gets much stronger as time passes and is very distinctive. There is no problem I've encountered with older nic but the smell becomes much harder to cover with flavor as time goes on. This makes stocking up for more than 3-4 months a bit problematic :)

Good to know, thanks Nuck.
