I bought a Provari and it gave me errors from the get go and burnt out at least eight cartomizers and two atties. Their response is for me to send it back and I'll have to pay for shipping so "they could check it out". I spent over 200$ for my order and I feel I shouldn't have to go through that crap and should get a replacement and then send back this defective one.

I've been vaping for awhile now and I'm getting tired of things not working or breaking down. I almost feel like throwing my Provari in the garbage and then try to find some other mod that will do variable voltages but unfortunately there are not any on the market that are like the Provari.

Welcome to the world of reality... these things happen CB.

You could try the Darwin, the only other comparable pv. They are both top of the line, and both have fabulous customer service not to mention real warrantys. That's why we spent the big bucks.

If you check into it, you'd find that yours is the exception rather than the rule... looking at all the Provari sites on ECF, this may be the first (or second) case of a bad unit among countless happy customers.

My advice, go ahead and spend the 5 or 6 bucks for priority shipping and if the problem isn't user error, they will send you a state of the art vaping machine.

I've got two of 'em and one needed a minor electronic tune up. I got a Darwin that imploded and they sent me another... after that one did the same, they refunded me my dough (my choice). Nevertheless I'm sure the hundreds of happy customers for Provape and Evolv are testament to overall great products.

I would double check with a multimeter your atty's, its usually an atty problem that gives error codes like E8 or E2 etc. I use only standard 2.5 ohm joye attys or HV 3.5 HV Ikenvape on my Provari. Sometimes when you get an error code unscrew it and loosen the battery and screw back in, my error codes disappear. Good luck, sen it back adn it is worth it once the Provari works right, you wont regret it.

You may have a problem with your PV, but before you send it in you might try a few things. I had some issues when I first got mine and it took a little bit to figure out what was going on.

First, the Provari chases the set voltage. In other words, you are setting a loaded voltage, not an unloaded voltage. I knew this, but I think I underestimated how much a difference that really makes. Try lowering the voltage. You may get comparable results with a much lower power setting than you think you need.

Second, keep an eye on the atty/carto resistance. I got lots of errors using attys that were about 2 weeks old, Joye 510's. The resistance would drop from the origional 2.3 to as low as 1.7. I never really cleaned my attys, just dripped pure PG and blew then out every night. I changed my cleaning methods and the resistance problem disappeared. I don't use cartos so can't help you there.

My Provari is awesome but sometimes my tank attys won't fire on the Provari but the same atty works just fine on my Buzz. My Pro vari is the backup for my Buzz.

Yeah but shouldn't it be the other way around? You spend allot of money to get the best and it should work like it unless its user error.

Well with new technology things will happen but what it comes down to at that point is the customer service end like this.

W:ohmy:W! Evolv's customer service is second to NONE! I emailed Evolv today, not expecting a response until at least Monday, and received a response already(this is Saturday!). I dreaded emailing them in the first place. Figured I could deal with the small issue I had, but said small issue decided to rear it's ugly head and became more of a PITA. My Darwin still works, but has hiccups. Evolv offered to send me a replacement asap, but I'm not at the house right now, and I do not want Evolv paying for an overnight package unnecessarily.
I just had to share my most excellent experience w/y'all and with anybody who is on the fence about ordering a Darwin! No worries! Evolv backs up their promise and then some! Not to mention that I've been through a few mods before the Darwin and haven't been in 7th heaven until now:).

First, did you get the extended warranty?
The terms of service are quite different if you did not, and spelled out in their order forms.

If you did get the warranty....
I'm thinking maybe they have a new employee in the loop or something...
Maybe try again and ask to speak with someone different.

It does NOT sound like ProVape to treat anyone this way, and these days they have 'more competition' than ever before, so I'd think if anything...they'd step up CS a notch. Get with someone higher up in the company. Could be a new employee, or someone just having a bad day.

On popping atties...
Every VV I've owned...I've made the mistake of forgetting to check my last setting after swapping something....
oops, I just hit my favorite custom 1.5 Ohm LR 306 with 9v....it's history!

At this time, there is no VV PV out there that prevents this possible scenario.

Double check that your ProVari is set to a max of 4.2v when putting an atty on you're not sure about. Just as a precaution. You can also take a peek at the resitance meter...if the atty is below 3 Ohms...Ya definately wanna start with lower voltages and gradually work your way up to the sweet spot.

My Provari burnt out the atty they sent me and it burnt out cartos that are rated at 3.0ohms(Boges and SmokeTechs). They suggested putting 99% rubbing alcohol in it. I did that and used canned air to blow it out. It seems to be working better but I'm not sure if it solved the problem I had since I got it. Those familar with the Provari will know the error codes and the ones I got consistently were - E2 , E4, E3 , E1 and E8. I am not a noob to vaping, I also have a PureSmoker Icon which I don't care for because of the bottom buttom and it only kicks out 3.7 volts, EGOs with the tank mod and I started out with the crap kits from venders like V2Cigs, Njoy etc. etc

It ...... me off that I spent 232.35$ to be exact (The Provari, Charger, 3 batteries, and a atty) and the thing was problematic from the day I got it. I know electronics can have issues even if they are brand new but for them to ask me to ship it back with me paying for shipping and handling when I just got the thing instead of giving me a replacement is just ....ty business in my book.

As far as other mods I was looking into was the infinity with the variable voltage switch but I read some bad reviews about it. I hope some new ones come soon with the variable voltage feature that displays the voltage like the Provari does.

Thank you for your replies and keep on vaping!

Your center pin isn't making contact on the ProVari. Push down on the ce2 and that will stop that problem.

I didn't get the extended warranty but I figured if it don't work after a year I'll just buy another one or something else. As far as contacting them "you can't call them" and have to fill out a form on their website. I don't know who the person is that responded but the idiot called me Chris and my name is Charles(Chuck). That person told me to send it back with a copy of the email they sent me so they know it's my Provari(wtf?)

This is horrible customer service and when buying something that isn't exactly cheap you would think they could of called me since I gave them my number and I couldn't call them.
