Hello all you lovely friendly vapers. :)

I gave up smoking five years ago, and have missed it pretty much every day since. I tried the e-cig of a friend while I was on a trip last month, and thought it was great. I don't really need the nicotine hit, but I miss everything else about smoking, so I thought I'd give e-cigs the college try. So over the last few weeks, it's been a journey:

1) I drive about 50 miles altogether to find anywhere that sells a disposable Blu nearby me. I finally find one. I really like it, but don't like the TH, so I decide that when I buy a starter kit I'll just go 0 mg.

2) I order a starter kit from Premium, with peach cartomizers at 0 mg. I really, really like the eGo - the peach flavor, the clouds of vapor, the lack of TH, the battery life, etc. Like it a lot. Could vape all day long.

3) A friend of mine tells me not to trust cartomizers made in China. I read a little bit about this on these here excellent forums, and I think the jury's probably still out. It seems to me like China cartomizers are probably okay as long as they're not from websites filled with bad English and unbelievably cheap items, right? (That's question #1 for you guys.)

4) I try to figure out whether cartomizers from one brand of e-cigs can be used by another brand of battery pack. I think the answer is yes. I order 3 packs of cartomizers from Volcano, and when they arrive, I find that they won't screw in to my eGo kit from Premium.

5) I order an express starter kit from Volcano to have a battery that will fit the cartomizers I just spent $40 on. It arrives today, and I HATE it. It seems to produce practically no vapor compared to my eGo, the battery sucks, the cartomizer gets hot when I vape, and I don't like the lack of a button.

6) So now I have all these cartomizers that I doubt I'll ever use, because it's so much effort to get decent vapor from this battery that it's downright annoying to vape them. I really wanted these USA-made cartomizers and their flavors, but I'm thinking I should probably just send them back. Will Volcano let me send them back even though I've sampled them? (Does anyone want to take them off my hands?)

After all that (sorry!) here are my questions.

Is there some kind of adapter I can buy to make these cartomizers fit the eGo from Premium?

Is there any way to tell whether cartomizers will or won't fit the battery pack, when buying from brands other than the battery pack's brand?

Does the USA/China thing actually matter?

Does anyone else dislike Volcano's standard e-cig this much?

THANK YOU!!!

PS: I'm not that interested in mods or mixing up my own juice, FWIW. Thanks again!

Maybe start by finding out what kind of threading your gear has. 510 to 808 thread adapters are easily had, but going from one 510 to another 510 might be a little tougher (Volcanos and eGos are both 510, but one's a little fatter, right? Or some funky pins in there? Dunno.). Have your tried googling it or asking Customer Service?

USA-made juices are easy to find (a ton of vendors out there for that), but like has been said, most of the hardware is gonna come from China. Nothing wrong with that, if you can find a reputable company that stands behind their products. I've never had any problems with the stuff I'm using now (SI/Volt) that Customer Service couldn't fix. I've been with them since last July, and all of their stuff is compatible with each other, which makes it really easy (all standard 808 threading). I've tried other cartos with similar technology (horizontal coil) and theirs have outperformed and outlasted all the other ones I've tried. I don't think I've ever used hardware that wasn't from China.

Your friend is clueless to put it mildly. The Chinese invented the electronic cigarette, preferrably known as a personal vaporizer (PV). All cartomizers/atomizers and about 90% of the eliquid solid comes from China. About 90% of everything we vape with is from China.

Find out what the threading is on your cartomizers and then get an adapter ($3) to fit your battery. Here is a good place to look for adapters:

I disagree with your friend about avoiding Chinese cartomizers. These can be excellent cartos.

I would suggest avoiding pre-filled cartos if you want the best taste. Better to puchase blank empty cartos and fill them yourself with your favorite juices.

Purchase cartos from vendors who properly identify the make of every individual carto they sell. Boge and Smoktech brands are both excellent in my opinion, if you are purchasing the real item.

Not true. There are but a handful of hardware manufacturers out there and 90% are in China. There are a number of customized Mods that are made outside China.
I try to figure out whether cartomizers from one brand of e-cigs can be used by another brand of battery pack. I think the answer is yes. I order 3 packs of cartomizers from Volcano, and when they arrive, I find that they won't screw in to my eGo kit from Premium.
As wv2win has suggested get an adapter that will change your present threading and allow your PV to accept other connector types. My Don connector accepts both 510 and 808 .

Not in regards to hardware as long as your buying non knockoffs IMO. As for juice I DIY and buy 100% American made. There are some vendors that do sell pre made U.S. juice.
For about $40.00 you could have bought an Kgo or E-Power- good solid 3.7 Volt PVs with 1100 mah batts- 100 mah= 1 hour normal vaping.
It seems to produce practically no vapor compared to my eGo, the battery sucks, the cartomizer gets hot when I vape, and I don't like the lack of a button.
Kgo and E-Power are both manual and I ALWAYS recommend a manual PV. If your carto is getting warm it "could" be it needs juice or is a result of chain vaping. In my experience most lack of vape problems are directly related to the delivery system- in your case the carto. If you're buying pre filled cartos sometimes they can sit on the shelf for awhile and by the time delivery happens have dried out considerably.
Good Luck.
