I'm not seeing the air slot at the base of the coil.

They should be. Maybe something is stuck in your airflow controller? I bought an early one that did nothing at all, because it wouldn't turn much in either direction.

Someone wrote this on Myepack

Maybe you need to get heavy with it... ??

But it still works with my old atomizer (both airflow controllers). I'm stumped...

^^^ I was thinking that too.

I'm not seeing the silicone ring in the middle that goes above the threads.

When that's missing you get leaks.

I'm an idiot, I've gone and lost this, from all the fiddling around... But I did switch it over from my old atomizer earlier and I was still having air flow problems.

I'm not seeing the air slot at the base of the coil.

No picture, but the air slot is clear, I can blow through it and air passes through. Attached to my airflow base - a small amount of air enters if a take a drag (no power) through it without the mini pt2 clearomizer attached; but much less than with my old atomizer. No air enters in when I attach the mini pt2 clearomizer and try to take a drag with or without the power.

Just the be clear: the "air slot" is at the end on the left: see how the slot goes across the hole? I'm not seeing the slot in the pictures you posted, so my question is, is that slot there at the end?

because it just seems odd that in every picture you posted
if the air slot is there
the thing is turned at the exact angle that we can't see the slot going across the hole

To anybody interested; I got in touch with the Unicoil supplier. Looks like a dud had sipped through.

"I use the same supplier for the atomisers and have done for a long time, there should be a silicone o ring on the underside just above the threads and a slot in the positive pin. That positive pin in the picture looks nothing like any in my stock so don't know how it slipped through but I make so many anything's possible.
Thanks for your patience Luke."

Thanks for all the help anyway, at least I learnt a thing or 2 along the way.

Ah, I understand you. I don't seem to have one on my unicoil:

I can't see any pictures of unicoils with this air slot.

Yup; that would shut off the airflow; that coil can't work because once it presses down on the battery center pin, the airflow is shut off.

It's an idea, but getting the wires to stay spot on might prove tricky. Never tried it.... the theory is good though. :) Nice thought.
it shouldn't be an issue at all as it's only the positive lead that will be exposed. The negative is still secure in the grommet. Pull the pin out of your old one 1st then you'll know what you're working with.

just pulled the pin on one of mine just to demonstrate. You start with this:

Use your thumb nail to start pulling it out

Out she pops. You can see the positive lead against the side of the grommet. If you look closely you can see the negative lead is still trapped above so the coil is still secure and the leads won't move

Pop it back in. Jobs a guden :)

Good point. You'll forgive me for asking these questions... it's not for myself, you understand. It'd not be worried. I'd have rebuilt it already... (LOL)

50/50 chance a new vaper will end up pushing the wire up;

if the coil is wet with eliquid, should help lube the surface and make it slide in without pushing the wire up/in.

I wouldn't say 50/50 I don't think. These are the 1st coils I started playing with and I don't think I ever pushed the wire up even as a noob lol. But yeah as you suggested the juice will help.

Haha! I tried exactly this. I thought I had it working at one point, but it wouldn't produce any vapour. I think I could have got it working if I spent a bit more time on it, but just going to wait on my new Unicoil to arrive.

[EDIT] I only just noticed the extra page of posts.

Unsure of what I was doing, I had pulled out the rubber insulation tube, making things a bit more fiddly for myself... At least I know for next time :)

This was like cluedo.
-it was the fabrication engineer in the workshop- with a ....

haha!

Got it all working now, big improvement and it prodcues some really big clouds, but still not a great deal of flavour, even on the lowest setting.

I think my spinner is a slightly too powerful for the coil i'm using, think i'll have another look through this thread at a later date and maybe look at investing in (yet another) battery.

Can't you adjust your power level down on your spinner? I would consider a spinner to be quite low powered in general. Flavor is commonly associated with atomizers architecture, Air flow and pg ratio. smaller atomizing chamber, tighter airflow and higher pg ratio should make your flavor pop. At the same time it will probably reduce the volume and density and increase the warmth of your vapor. If you have adjustable air flow, try closing it up a bit? And if you have a few different drip tip options choose one with the narrowest internal diameter(skinny hole).

Edit- I missed that you mentioned "even on the lowest setting"
